  • The Avon Valley Path follows the (for the most part) the course of the river Avon, this ment water was easy to find although I did filter mine.
I did this walk over two days, with the first being the majority of the walk. I camped overnight before completing the walk on the second day.
I used the GPX from the LDWA website, but others are available and the route is marked on the OS Maps.

Excellent I have just discovered a new Video on the very little covered AVP here on YT; I completed the route the other way round last year and bivvied on the Fishery just North of Fordingbridge. I have an idea to link it up with the Clarendon Way (Salisbury to Winchester) and on to The South Downs Way - as another person commented. Good to see another Altra Lone Peak wearer - although the soles wear down quicker than I hoped I find them very comfy!! New sub and plan to review your other Videos soon. Cheers.

It easy to follow but not so easy you don’t need a map. Some of the sections are on flood plans, I did it n October once and had wet feet the whole time. It’s defiantly better in dry summer months.

Another walk to look forward to. I attempted the test way yesterday but was forced to stop due to injury at around 12 miles. I'm really interested in what kit you take on these hikes as you must have a wealth of knowledge you can share?

Sorry to hear you had to stop, but it is better to listen to your body than cause further problems down the road. The trails are going anywhere. I have started doing a couple of gear views, one on my tent and one on foot ware. Think next on my sleep system, what do you think and use?

@@JonathanDowe thank you for quick reply. I've caught the footwear vid and found it very informative. I genuinely use a DD tarp when wild camping and have. A mixture of titanium and aluminium cookware. What sort of food do you carry?

@@pickashole I carry a mix of foods mostly because I am not happy with most of it, the dehydrated ones are light but tasteless in the most part. I am doing the White Horse Trail in a few weeks and trying out several options I will put together a video while I am out of my thoughts on each.
