  • An 8 mile walk along the Avon Valley Path in Wiltshire between Salisbury and Downton via Odstock. The Avon Valley Path is a 34 mile long distance path between Salisbury and Christchurch in Dorset. Unsurprisingly, it runs close to the course of the River Avon. Conditions underfoot were not too bad except for one field near Odstock which was flooded and impassable- I had to make a diversion around this. The walk took place in, at first misty, but later sunny, weather on Saturday 20 October 2012.

Avon Valley Path is a great walk but as you say prone to flooding in places. I mainly do looped pub walks but this was a good watch

I probably did this walk at the wrong time of the year. Thanks for watching.
