    The mantra of living like Bond, one moment at a time emanates from a concept of experiencing the joy of collecting small moments in life that add up to amazing journeys and stories....whether it's through style, locations, literature, fitness, and the movies themselves the world of Bond is explored through its people and their stories.
    Ultimately though, The Bond Experience channel is a celebration of the James Bond franchise and the many people that form a true community. Our core mission is to create a strong connection in the Bond community amongst all the fans, regardless of interest or demographic.

    Unfortunately you are right about Rolex and their boutique behavior. Rolex is pushing themselves into the AP & Patek market with a focus on exclusivity. While Omega has always given excellent customer service in my personal experience. I would say stick to Omega they come across as a “cooler” more interesting brand to wear.

    I've found that the best bet is the secondary or gray market, especially if you've already had the whole first time buying from a boutique experience or wanting older/discontinued models. Depending on the seller you can still get that premium treatment at a discounted rate. In the last 4 months I bought a Rolex sub 114060, the spectre 300 and the skyfall PO off the secondary market. Patience, waiting, due diligence and saving saw me through.

    As someone who recently acquired my absolute holy grail watch (the Planet Ocean 2500 that you reference from Quantum), the journey described in this video resonated so deeply with me. It is absolutely an emotional rollercoaster of a journey! Hodinkee actually did an article recently called The Nine Stages Of A Relationship With A Watch which captures a lot of the same sentiments you describe in the video. Best of luck finding your 2500 David - it is seriously a perfect watch and the 42mm size wears sooo nicely on the wrist.

    In 2011 I bought an Omega Seamaster 2541.80 (Goldeneye Quartz) for $1,300. LOVED it but fell on hard times 3 years later when I joined the army. Pawned it for $300 but didn't have the cash to pay the vig the next month so the manager kept it. $300 for a mint condition 2541.80!! She gloated how she was going to give it to her boyfriend. It made me sick to my stomach for days. Today it sells used for over $4,000! I doubt I'll ever get another one at it breaks my heart that I had to let it go at all, let alone so cheap.

    Okay... (I'm literally commenting in real time as I watch this video), I understand that maybe the NTTD watch isn't that much more expensive than a comparable titanium watch from Omega, but if the "Bond Mark-up" isn't a thing - what explains the price difference between the Spectre Seamaster 300 and the regular Seamaster 300? The ONLY difference is the bezel insert, yet the Bond version is literally TWICE the price.

    • @omegabondwatches
      @omegabondwatches 2 года назад +2

      Retail price
      Standard 300 - $6,800
      Spectre 300 Limited Edition - $7,500
      Nato included ($220)
      After you consider the limited edition 7,007 piece only.
      With the remaining $480
      Things to consider:
      Bi-Directional 12 Hour GMT bezel
      Locking themed watch box
      Limited of 7,007
      Watch spring bar tool
      Loupe
      All things considered it’s still just small difference from $480

    • @cpickell1987
      @cpickell1987 2 года назад +2

      @@omegabondwatches I stand corrected! Perhaps what I'm witnessing is more of a disparity on the secondhand market - and it would make obvious sense that the Spectre edition would appreciate and the standard would depreciate.

    • @jaysterling26
      @jaysterling26 2 года назад +1

      I have several titanium watches. It's the not the element which is the issue- it's just that unless coated it will probably be a very stratched -up timepiece compared to a stainless steel timepiece.
      I recommend a Casios Oceanus titanium.

  • @King_Harrold
    @King_Harrold 2 года назад +2

    I believe Omega got the watches wrong for Bond on a number of occasions.
    The planet oceans etc are spot on for undercover jeans/combats/chinos bond. The Seamster Chrono 321 in Spectre.. 👌
    But the NATO strap 300 and large divers with fine business suits / dinner suits is silly. 👎
    The occasions with an aqua Terra work but better placed would have been a Constellation Globemaster or DeVille.

    • @bond-suits
      @bond-suits 2 года назад +4

      I agree. I think that a diver can work beautifully with a suit, but not on a NATO. I'd never wear a diver with a dinner suit. People like to point to Connery doing it in Goldfinger, but he was diving in his dinner jacket so it made sense. Until I do that, I'll never wear a tool watch with a dinner suit.

    • @King_Harrold
      @King_Harrold 2 года назад +2

      @@bond-suits yes I have a Tudor Black Bay 58 Navy Blue which wears nicely with a suit.
      I have a larger Tudor GMT that doesn't really go with a suit so that my Chino and t-shirt watch.
      I have only had need to wear a dinner suit once, and borrowed a simple all black leather strap watch.
      Right tool for the right occasion. Sadly coming back to Omega, they missed the mark and to showcase more of their collection.

    • @bond-suits
      @bond-suits 2 года назад +2

      @@King_Harrold I don't think it would be reasonable for Omega to showcase more of their collection on Bond. Sure, they could sell more watches if they did, but I like that Bond doesn't usually travel with multiple watches. Most men don't travel with multiple watches (Lorenzo excluded), and think it's more realistic for Bond not to have too many watches.

    Omega makes several fine watches but they've never made a good watch for Bond and the producers should have never sold out and gone with them. The tragic and unholy marriage between 007 and the Big O only grew out of a deal between Bond's money men and a respected but not legendary watch maker. When he's not being bribed into wearing product placement the real cinematic Bond wears two watches: a 36mm Rolex Submariner with no date complication when he's expecting action, and a Gruene 510 Precision when he wants a proper dress watch to wear on one of his gorgeous suits. Gruenes are relatively easy to acquire for only a few hundred dollars, but if you can't afford a$250,000 late 50s Submariner, just get a new San Martin Diver 6200 for around 250.00. It's a much closer, and far more attractive Submariner rip-off than all those clunky, oversized Submariner rip-offs that Omega produces. Seriously: the San Martin 6200 is a far better looking watch, and far closer to the spirit and the letter of the real Bond's watches of choice. ruclips.net/video/OOxqtuBzS2Q/видео.html&ab_channel=Ripire%27sReview%27s
