Can you imagine coming to work and punching in every day? Ha! I did it everyday for over 40 years! The angel at 5:43 was amazing. The pink tree in the second place is beautiful. What a lovely shopping trip this was!
The nativity-scene was radiant. 😊 I want to turn the first store into a club for people without cellphones who dress and talk as in the olden times. A footman serving cucumber-sandwiches on a silvertray and a maid bustling about with starched linen... 🤤👐🔮
I realized I was breathing so shallow at the first shop. I want to live there. I want the lamp that was on the post. The angel statues were total museum!!!😃 Do you even know how much quiet joy you share? I really transport to the places you show us. My Aunt Louise had a sofa like that silk one. I found it too much as a child😊 I preferred my grandmas Autumn leaf print Davenport. I’ve always wanted an ornate screen ever since I saw an old movie that had a fancy woman change her clothes behind it. 😁♥️🐩
Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat. Please put a penny in the old man's hat. This little shopping trip made me think of that song. I don't even know why. If you haven't got a penny then a ha-penny will do. God bless you gentlemen, God bless you.☺🌲🌲
Beautiful oddities in first shop, oh that Holy Family would have gone in my cart for sure along with cardboard angel ornament and then there was that sink!!!!!!😍 I’ve looked for years for an affordable pedestal for my home and that color , at that incredible price😢 oh my heart wept
I love rockers, but the one I had for baby-rocking kept 'walking'. After I discovered gliders, I found one in a mission-style, and paid dearly for it (long story!). Still have it, still rock away, just got the seat cushion re-covered! I did look at that one on his tour with envy tho'!
What an ingenious idea to use umbrella spines for a Christmas tree! I never would have thought of that - altho Max and Dave Fleischer did it in one of their Grampy cartoons, come to think of it. This was a great video, Scott. I was hooked from the intro and would have loved it if it HAD been an hour and a half!!
@@caspence56 Yep that's the one! When my daughter was little we had a bunch of Fleischer cartoons on VHS that we watched over and over, including that one. I love them all!
Where do all the hippies meet...South Street...South Street..🌲I have great memories of shopping there in the 1970's! Thank you for filming those great stores.
Oh golly yes and my memories of South Street in the 1980's with Zipper Head and all of the punk rockers, drag queens and wonderful characters! The street is more commercial now but still a little edgy and fun.
The umbrella tree might be One of the first artificial Christmas Trees…..love the shop…and absolutely love the asian screen…..and agree, the price is fantastic….
Remember back in the day when i worked in the printing trade we used to clock in with one of those machines. At the end of the shift it was always a race to get to the clock first at finishing time😂Lovely city and antique shop.😍
😂😂😂Laughed about the gallon of milk. We(in our house) have a saying,"Just popping out for a loaf of bread via London"and we live in Manchester, three to four hours drive away.
Scott I just LOVE you and everything about your channel. I enjoy your casual approach to how you speak to your audience and how articulate you are at the same time. Your knowledge is amazing yet you’re humble and, dare I say, easy on the eyes! 👀 Do you have room in your Rolodex for another BFF? Haha. Thank you for being you!
I agree with you about the green pedestal sink. It is so cool. And that gorgeous screen! Just cleaning it alone would bring it back to life. So beautiful and unique!
Scott, I love it when we travel around your city with you! Have to get there someday. First I will need to check out campgrounds in the area for me and my camper-don’t expect any in Philadelphia!
The Chinese screen is to die for, absolutely fabulous and actually really cheap, just go back and buy it Scott. I regularly sell mass produced 1960’s glass vases for $165, and you could certainly resell that screen for at least $1.600, well, not through an eBay auction. One can not let pieces like that pass you by. If I bought it I wouldn’t touch it, I’d keep it the way it is, dirty and all. That Anastasia shop is really fantastic.
The foil wrapping on the tree reminds me of the first tree of my childhood, memory of 1965, watching Momma place garlands of two-faced foil with one side either red or green and the other side was silver.
I am in love with that rocking chair. I bought one from the early 1900's last week at goodwill and gave it to a good friend who was ecstatic over it. They had just set it down when I pounced. I was in the right place at the right time.
Scott I'm laughing with the gold couch & matching chairs. My Italian family in south Philly had & still has very similar furniture in their living rooms!
The Asian screen was a real show stopper! Maybe, that is one of those Antiques Roadshow pieces, $5,000-$8,000 unrestored and $18,000 restored. Blue Bus Dave worked with an Asian specialist at an auction house near him once. She seemed pretty knowledgeable. What a road trip that was. Thanks!
I’m glad to see you today and that you mentioned about your weekend reruns. I was worried that maybe someone was not well, and that you were showing reruns because of that. Anyway, today’s show was simply wonderful!! It’s always good to see you!😄

My cats would love to rearrange the angel's feathered wings! Be safe, especially in a passing lane. Aren't you afraid your truck will be booted or towed....to some place like Pennsauken?
Loved the tree, the shop was pretty dark...the furniture was fun to see, but the screen! Drooling. The repairs, (not that I know anything about repairing 1890's painted wood) looks doable. Wonder if it's gesso, maybe painted wood shapes. Maybe they don't even have to be replaced...just a good general cleaning, wish I could see a good picture of it.
