There are dozens upon dozens of SCP channels out now a days, which most do good content. But, hands down TheVolgun and TES are my favorites. I never miss a video from these masters of the SCP universe. You can just tell that they both put their heart and soul in each video, and genuinely enjoy bringing this content to us. Respect and love from me. Thank you for your hard work.
It’s referencing the 100 candles Japanese game (Hyakumonogatari). It was a scary story telling game. Each person tells a story and extinguishes a candle. This goes on until you reach 99 candles. Blowing out the 100th candle would supposedly make a real ghost appear, so it stops to prevent this. In this case it was only 7 and we blew out the last candle despite the numerous warning to stop throughout
It IS really great, but I wish someone had edited the language a bit. There's a lot of really florid, stylish verbiage which works great for a ghost story, but sounds weird in an SCP. One of my favorite things about this channel is how well the voice acting nails the dry, clinical SCP house style. Some of these lines sound like they should be read by the crypt-keeper. This is just constructive criticism, tho. The story is chilling. The pace is great. The formatting is on point. Happy Halloween, weirdos!
Bro the demon possession log was actually hilarious ☠️ I couldn't stop laughing after the demon spoke that nonsense for like a minute and the guy's like "how about you get it right next time?" holy crap this is why I love SCP
When I first heard of this skip from The Exploring Series' channel, I immediately went to the article itself and got me thinking, "I wonder if Volgun gonna cover this one. Nah, this will be way too difficult for him to pull this off." And yet, here you are, giving justice to the article. Wow, you never cease to amaze us, Volgun! Nice work! :D
This was an existential journey into madness. The start of the story was odd enough, but as it evolved and the characters were drawn deeper and deeper into the story I found myself unable to stop listening - even as the taste of lima beans coated my tongue. The audio work was amazing, I find it both horrifying and amazing the events that occurred because of a video game. More so, I think this horror came because of the similarity it had to a horror movie I watched as a teen - getting killed in the game meant you died in real life. Stay Alive, is the movie I am mentioning if you were wondering. Honestly, though, this descent into a kaleidoscope of rotten lima beans was very riveting.
@@angelischiel Well this is based off of the S. Andrew Swann Proposal for SCP-001. We see at the end of the article the foundation will try to use "Memetic agents inserted to cause death." in future articles to trick those creating the wiki.
@@WoodChuuck lol, that's kinda funny. Guess it's a good thing memetic agents would have serious issues impacting me since my sensory perception, thus the sense of reality/not reality is harder to impact, is exceedingly different than the typical human. Thank you Synesthesia.
When I first watched this, I was confused as to what connected everything. Comments told me it was the foundation essentially trying to kill the reader but I was confused how. Thankfully, the Exploring series gave a good explanation. The two pieces of info I was missing were the SCP-1 proposal (the monster at the end) and the japanese game (the ritual that unleashes the monster). In the text, there is a reference to the SCP-1 proposal, the altered word Spirals, one of the few times a distorted word doesn't reference chains. The SCP-1 proposal was that the foundation figured out that they were in a dimension beneath ours, essentially saying they figured out they were a fictional universe and did not like being controlled by a bunch of horror writers, so they created agents or creatures designed to affect us, the audience, agents that can calm us, or kill us, and these agents were represented by spirals. The japanese game seems to be one of those games played by kids and teenagers that are designed to embarrass their peers. They go into an enclosed room and light 100 candles and bring a handheld mirror (both are referenced in the final section). They tell stories one at a time. At the end of every story, one of the players would get up, blow out 1 candle, and look in the mirror before sitting down to tell more stories, and that once all the candles go out, they spirits they've been invoking will invade the house, the idea being that the kids will eventually lose their nerve and stop the game before all the stories are told and all the candles are out. Combine these and you get the foundation using a bunch of stories as a ritual to break the chains of this agent designed to kill the reader once they read all the stories and get to the end. The stories themselves are designed to keep the reader engaged and guessing, trying to figure out what the connections to these stories are until they reach the end and get killed by the agent. Now, considering that most are still here to talk about it, we can assume they failed, but it was quite the ride getting there.

Its great, but its just a shame when they try to politicize it with modern politics and identitarian trite. /x/'s doing a successor to SCP that keeps to its core principles while trying to maintain pure focus on horror/anomalous writing, and nothing more, which is respectable. Stuff like 5999 is always splendidly written, thankfully.
Hello my friend, how are you? I hope you are fine and full of blessings. So, the SCP universe is also being politicized with identity politics? That will not do, this is such a magnificently written piece of esoteric information in the form of fiction that to make it politically correct or inclusive would just tarnish the genuine richness of SCP. Anyway, that’s just my opinion that I wanted to humbly and respectfully share. You take care my friend! Greetings from Southern Africa (Angola)!
I know this SCP is technically just a made up set of stories made by the Foundation for us to read and an attempt to kill us, but I really like them even as serious stories. Very well written and creepy, connected by several recurring themes, etc. If it were "real," I feel like everyone would be trying to figure out the underlying narrative, and I think there may actually be one despite its true purpose.
Proposition for consideration of 0-5 council. What if we sent a chain email to a bunch of 'cosplayers' with the official paperwork for MTF legitimization, along with directives for potential analog avenues for SCP-001 containment? Theoretically, if we could find suggestible enough persons willing to carry out issued directives, said theoretical MTF could be the solution we've been looking for to contain this SCP. Either through their own success, or by stirring up enough trouble that SCP 001 instances self contain to avoid neutralization. Further elaboration to this proposal would certainly be needed, but I for one think this avenue shows some promise.
"Esoteric" Yeah, you know you're in for a ride when seeing that. Also, all of your Halloween uploads have been serious bangers, Volgun, and include some of my favorite entries. Can't wait to finish this one!

Definitely an interesting SCP, where's its a bunch of separate objects, events and ideas all tied together through unknown means. Edit: I misinterpreted the shit out of this article. Oops.
GONNA SPOIL THIS ONE SO BRACE UP, GUYS These events were written by the SCP researchers to try to kill us... Their Gods from a higher universe than them. This is where I died is not explaining someone... It's you, it's us... The entry is where we will die They are supposed to be some sort of maze in the form of information, Infohazards connected by keywords; "The Chains", "God", "Territory", "Candles", "Manor", "This is where I died"... not connected to any tangible events, but more as a "This is a Trap, you're entering it, don't be sorry and say I didn't warn you". These are written by Top-Level SCP Researchers under the Guidance of O5 council members. As we read and got captivated by their infohazards, we are more reluctant to go back and stop reading until we reach the end. And the End is a Memetic Agent strong enough to shut off the consciousness of a God. But the O5 forget that we are living in a Higher Universe than them where these "Memetic Agents" and "Infohazards" doesn't work in our universe... Sooo yeah, here we are... Still alive and well lmao
So happy to see this one brought to life by you. I remember when this proposal came down, I must have read it a dozen times trying to parse all the meanings.
I find the concept of the Foundation attempting to eliminate us fascinating. It makes sense from their perspective but this attempt clearly failed. The doll part always freaked me out.

Second time listening through this I had it running in the background while proof-reading something. I completely forgot the bit at the end with the extinguished candles repeating and changing and thought my audio was looped. Clicked back over to the video in time for the end. As a SCP newbie, it took me 3 times through to finally figure it out. That's 3 times dead on my end. 10/10, working as intended.
Pls explain
@@RIPMMC It's a ritual. The whole entry. It's a "firewall" deliberately designed to suck in and kill whomever accesses the files. That's why all stories are equal parts connected and not. Every mention of chains, the town, manor, and This is where I died are invocations.
It's designed to be compelling enough people keep delving the record while giving the person ample warning to turn back (the warnings before each part).
@@RIPMMC The RUclips channel "The Exploring Series" analyzed and explains this SCP well, highly recommend.

Cheers friend, I’ll check it out… I’ve only been down the SCP rabbit hole a couple of weeks, a lot of this ‘sub narrative’ stuff still flies right past me.
@@seanhatton4013 It takes a bit to wrap your head around, but it leads you down some fascinating rabbit holes.
here’s a fun game to play w/ the 05 Council: Read SCP-5999 out of order & just mess up the ritual so badly that neither you nor the 05s know what’s going on
Beware, Woyzeck
There are dozens upon dozens of SCP channels out now a days, which most do good content. But, hands down TheVolgun and TES are my favorites. I never miss a video from these masters of the SCP universe. You can just tell that they both put their heart and soul in each video, and genuinely enjoy bringing this content to us. Respect and love from me. Thank you for your hard work.
The atmosphere of Volgun and the calming tones of The Exploring Series make them both my favourites too!
SCPIllustrated also very good, knocking it out of the park with When Day Breaks/Unlondon
Also having volgun in it
I think you might also like Roanoke Gaming’s SCP videos, he’s a former microbiologist and offers a very unique perspective on the SCP’s he goes over.
All he does is read it while showing a few photos, use a little voice editing, and scroll some text. Don't be so dramatic.
@@IWearShoes31 Oh ya I watch him as well. Your right his "when day breaks" tales are fantastic!

havent i seen you before? hmmmmmmmmmmm
(EXPLAINED: This is an infohazard designed to kill the reader.). Great work as always!

Nah, this will be way too difficult for him to pull this off."
And yet, here you are, giving justice to the article. Wow, you never cease to amaze us, Volgun! Nice work! :D
well he _did_ help with making this, i think
@@ShaneSDCR Yup! The jumpscare at the end was created by Volgun, and he is credited as co-author on the wiki.
That was an attempt by the SCP Fondation to kill the SCP Authors. It failed obviously.
@@TheSmilingBandit2 Ya know, I could believe The Foundation would do something like that, honestly.
"Such wanton butchery! How could you kill someone like that?!"
- D Class
@@angelischiel Well this is based off of the S. Andrew Swann Proposal for SCP-001. We see at the end of the article the foundation will try to use "Memetic agents inserted to cause death." in future articles to trick those creating the wiki.
@@WoodChuuck lol, that's kinda funny. Guess it's a good thing memetic agents would have serious issues impacting me since my sensory perception, thus the sense of reality/not reality is harder to impact, is exceedingly different than the typical human. Thank you Synesthesia.
“This is where I died, Parappa”
“THIS IS WHERE YOU DIED, OOPS”
SCP 5999-1 "This is where I slammed my penis in the car door"

Almost Uncirculated? 😝
The Foundation: Well I guess mimetic kill agents don't work, time to try sending out some MTF's!

This is one of my favorite SCPs after reading it. Volgun nailed yet again.
Y’know I was watching some of the older videos and I noticed on the blackboard background the “Doctor” part of his title is written over an erased word, and an arrow is pointing to the “safe” classification leading me to believe Dr. Millar is actually an SCP
One could say that his cure is most effective.
The erased word was “researcher”
Definitely an interesting SCP, where's its a bunch of separate objects, events and ideas all tied together through unknown means.
Edit: I misinterpreted the shit out of this article. Oops.
GONNA SPOIL THIS ONE SO BRACE UP, GUYS
These events were written by the SCP researchers to try to kill us... Their Gods from a higher universe than them. This is where I died is not explaining someone... It's you, it's us... The entry is where we will die
They are supposed to be some sort of maze in the form of information, Infohazards connected by keywords; "The Chains", "God", "Territory", "Candles", "Manor", "This is where I died"... not connected to any tangible events, but more as a "This is a Trap, you're entering it, don't be sorry and say I didn't warn you".
When you hear a Johnny Cash song in an SCP, either you could feel good about it or you will be disrespectfully fucked.
