    You know you've been in the scp community for too long when the only thing that bothers you was the decision to put a brother and sister on the same MTF team. A lamb morphing into a winged creature? Fine. Flying away with a nude body and forcing it onto a telephone pole? Fine. Brother and sister on the same MTF team? Absolutely not and there is no way they would ever allow that to happen.

    For anyone looking for a summarized nutshell on this SCP article:
    Basically, a whole bunch of false-scary tales, which hidden behind all of them, is a memetic kill agent powerful enough to kill a god.
    Needless to say, it failed, and all we got was a "spooky 3d demon animation".

      It was the 05 Council's way of trying to kill off the SCP writers, which, unfortunately for them, failed. It's basically one of the writers having a bit of fun writing some horror stories in the form of a spooky SCP that's trying to "kill" gods from another reality.

    • @RelativelyBest
      @RelativelyBest 2 года назад +126

      @@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 This is why this kind of meta shenanigans stop making sense if you think about it for a bit: The Foundation literally can't do _anything_ except what the writers want them to do, including plotting (much less attempting) to kill said writers.

      @Sillimant_ 2 года назад +179

      It goes a little further than that.

  • @mailcs06
    @mailcs06 2 года назад +1302

    This one is a pretty cool SCP, as the in universe reason for it is that it’s an attempt by the O5 council to kill the writers of the SCP wiki to, kill their world’s gods, so that they stop writing articles. Unfortunately for the O5 council, memetic kill agents aren’t a thing in our reality.

      Hey give them props for trying. If they're REALLY lucky they might very just managed to squeak one or two terminations out of this via heart attack, or contribution to growing negative mental states, resulting in scp-001-X self termination.
      Ultimately more testing is needed on their end for a more effective, higher form reality memetic kill agent. I'm personally thinking that a nihilistic diatribe argument to inflame symptoms of depression to coax SCP 001-X instances into self-terminating would be a more productive, if ultimately imperfect, avenue to explore.....

    This was an existential journey into madness. The start of the story was odd enough, but as it evolved and the characters were drawn deeper and deeper into the story I found myself unable to stop listening - even as the taste of lima beans coated my tongue. The audio work was amazing, I find it both horrifying and amazing the events that occurred because of a video game. More so, I think this horror came because of the similarity it had to a horror movie I watched as a teen - getting killed in the game meant you died in real life. Stay Alive, is the movie I am mentioning if you were wondering.
    Honestly, though, this descent into a kaleidoscope of rotten lima beans was very riveting.

    When I first watched this, I was confused as to what connected everything. Comments told me it was the foundation essentially trying to kill the reader but I was confused how. Thankfully, the Exploring series gave a good explanation. The two pieces of info I was missing were the SCP-1 proposal (the monster at the end) and the japanese game (the ritual that unleashes the monster).
    In the text, there is a reference to the SCP-1 proposal, the altered word Spirals, one of the few times a distorted word doesn't reference chains. The SCP-1 proposal was that the foundation figured out that they were in a dimension beneath ours, essentially saying they figured out they were a fictional universe and did not like being controlled by a bunch of horror writers, so they created agents or creatures designed to affect us, the audience, agents that can calm us, or kill us, and these agents were represented by spirals.
    The japanese game seems to be one of those games played by kids and teenagers that are designed to embarrass their peers. They go into an enclosed room and light 100 candles and bring a handheld mirror (both are referenced in the final section). They tell stories one at a time. At the end of every story, one of the players would get up, blow out 1 candle, and look in the mirror before sitting down to tell more stories, and that once all the candles go out, they spirits they've been invoking will invade the house, the idea being that the kids will eventually lose their nerve and stop the game before all the stories are told and all the candles are out.
    Combine these and you get the foundation using a bunch of stories as a ritual to break the chains of this agent designed to kill the reader once they read all the stories and get to the end. The stories themselves are designed to keep the reader engaged and guessing, trying to figure out what the connections to these stories are until they reach the end and get killed by the agent. Now, considering that most are still here to talk about it, we can assume they failed, but it was quite the ride getting there.

      These events were written by the SCP researchers to try to kill us... Their Gods from a higher universe than them. This is where I died is not explaining someone... It's you, it's us... The entry is where we will die
      They are supposed to be some sort of maze in the form of information, Infohazards connected by keywords; "The Chains", "God", "Territory", "Candles", "Manor", "This is where I died"... not connected to any tangible events, but more as a "This is a Trap, you're entering it, don't be sorry and say I didn't warn you".
      These are written by Top-Level SCP Researchers under the Guidance of O5 council members. As we read and got captivated by their infohazards, we are more reluctant to go back and stop reading until we reach the end. And the End is a Memetic Agent strong enough to shut off the consciousness of a God.
      But the O5 forget that we are living in a Higher Universe than them where these "Memetic Agents" and "Infohazards" doesn't work in our universe... Sooo yeah, here we are... Still alive and well lmao

    I went to sleep listening to creeypastas and this autoplayed about halfway through the night. I haven't had nightmares that bad since I was a little kid. Woke up in a cold sweat gasping for air. 10/10 would do again.

    Normally I hate when an ad plays during one of these Volgun videos but for this one... For this one they are a welcome safe haven from the horror

    Could have sworn we did this one already. Huh.
    *~grabs non-anomalous popcorn and hits play~*
    Dunno what it is about this particular SCP, the writing, the different stories, or what, but I have so much trouble processing it all and figuring out _what_ it's supposed to be.

    This was absolutely incredible. I was so anxious while listening that even the slightest noise in my dorm made me jump. I love these types of stories/SCPs. If you, Volgun, or anyone else reading this comment knows of similar ones, please let me know!

      @@spacedogawesome Are you crazy? Are you trying to bring the mob of the modern SCP zealots here? You speak one bad thing about the newer SCPs and they'll come rushing with torches and pitchforks.

      Might work, if God hasn't already died laughing from seeing the rest of Our stupidity that might just be stupid enough to do it. O.o Or just send a livestream of our Politicians O.O

      Clever bastards tried to give us a heart attack.
      Too bad they don't know the mute and Pause buttons are a thing.
      Next time over, they should do some red and blue seizure inducing stuff. Would probably be more effective.

    youtube recommended your video right after 7 minutes of it becoming public/uploaded. there are probably 2 reasons. First, i watch like every single one of your videos, and second, youtube likes you and it thinks i like you (which it isn’t wrong)
