Cleat position is way to forward, this position leads to too much strain on the toes and to much strain on the calves which lead to other problems with knees and hips. Heel drop is another problem that will occur with cleats to far forward, so under heavy load the ball of the foot is actually now behind the axle which leads to the problems mentioned above. Look up Steve Hogg Power to the pedal.
cleat way forward, not necessary in super stiff carbon soles move the cleat back 5mm to 1 cm will give a more relaxed leg movement and better power on the long term.
Thanks Olivier, I will be more than happy to read the scientific article, who talk about to put the cleat on the middle off the feet to set the cleat. I guess to much people follow the trends, as 20 years ago the pilot post was very low and the seat extremely backward. Every ten years more or less the trends change. I will be curious to know when people is going to ask me to set the cleat under heel, and to do that ot claim to be more confortable.
I'm not entirely clear how cleat rotation is set. Does the natural flex of the foot at the metatarsals line up the cleat rotation (such as the movement at 1:01)? I was always under the impression that the 1st and 5th metatarsals were used to set cleat fore & aft and then the rotation was set once you were on the bike and could adjust from there.
Today the cleat offet the angulation like the grey cleat with Looks for example we try to set in a the middle of aligment of the shoes. But I remind the point of that is to set the commitement of the cleat. I hope it's enought clear. if not please let me know at contact@morpho-logics.com

This is a pile of BS. The cleat centre should be very close to the centre of the transverse metarsal arch, just behind, posterior the ball of the foot, phangles metatarsal joints. A hollow behind the ball of the foot. Marginally forward for sprinting, or further back for sustained high efficiency riding.
@@morphologics4271 hello based in my experience I have been cycling for 35 years I used to have my cleats on my ball foot. I found the best for me is about 4 mm behind my metatarsal...
@@PRCYCLINGFAN Hi, based on our laboratory research through scientific analysis, all cycling experts agree that the best cleat position is below the first metatarsal big toe.
Hi Philippe, sorry but what do you mean by expensive ? So sometime we have to drill some shoes in order to reach the point where we have to set de cleat. As many brand of the shoes today on the market they move to the mecanic slide in the sole, to avoid to drill it .

That is interesting but what can I say is we are agree to disagree, especially when there is no scientific article goes with your theroric;

Time had a very simple box that did this for their shoes in the 80s. Can't find a picture of it.
Yes true, as the rear mecanic without indexation, today are at wireless rear, the time and technology move forward.

Is the flex point really so important when using stiff soled shoes?
I loved this video. where can I find you? I' m a cyclist since 6 years and I NEVER ENJOYED IT.
WHERE CAN I FIND YOU? I live in Tampa FL.
Prouve me it is.

ahahahahahah.cleats are too forward.expensive but not good .
Prove me scientifically that this cleat position is not suitable...
