  • Well, shame on us for falling for a second round of Rooms To Go cheaply made furniture. Consider this a warning to anyone who comes across this video! DO NOT buy their couch's. This is the second time we can say that we are 100% disappointed in the quality of their materials, and will never again purchase from them in the future. Have you had the same experience? If so, we'd like to know in the comment section below!

    I'm going to be honest with you.
    50% if those issues are related to your choices.
    Any plastic/ vinyl/leather furniture won't hold up to cat claws.
    Pulling that heavy piece with a fabric flap to unlock it wasn't a good choice.
    So, it's not all to blame with RTG.
    If it's not leather, it's going to wear and flake like that if there's a lot of usage, especially with kids.

    • @TheNeverlanders
      @TheNeverlanders  Год назад +3

      Yep, that’s totally fair. Unfortunately this wasn’t our first experience with RTG and we explained our concerns to the salesman helping us. We were very specific about our concerns, peeling and stains being the major two. (Because of our kids) I can still see the salesman scratching at the headrest assuring us nothing was going to happen. Yes, we made the decision. But the product is trash. Period

    Sorry you didn’t get the quality of leather you were expecting. But if you want leather real leather you need to buy from a more expensive leather furniture company. It will cost you a lot more but get a warranty because today even real leather disappoints. Stay with fabrics….leather is way over rated.

    My Natuzzi (almost $4000) leather sofa did this after about 7 or 8 years. I have a cheaper Baer’s furniture sofa that is doing it now at year 13. You don’t always get what you pay for and any painted surface leather will do it if you use your furniture like most people do.

    I'm in the process of looking for living room furniture, I did the whole IKEA thing and found some stuff that I thought was decent and comfortable, but on the advice of a friend they said not to cheap out with the couch because you will have it for a long time. So after work today I stopped by my local RTG, there were maybe 8 other customers in there, and every sales person that saw me was immediately on the "what can I help you find" "we've got this here and that there and this has a such and such sale" I kept having to shoo them away with a polite but stern "if I need any help I'll come find someone, thanks, but I'm good". I sat on every couch in the place, found a few I liked but immediately ruled out the leather/pleather ones because my dog would destroy them, I found a couch I liked, that was comfortable and was some kind of cloth or micro deal, but after seeing this video and reading the comments, I might just go with IKEA, I don't know.

    I bought a cheap leather couch from Value City around 2009. I have two cats, a dog, 3 kids. It never scratched like that. It didn’t really start to look bad until about 10 years later but I never treated it or cared for it. Even older leather couches used to last forever. Your couch looks like garbage. They should just stop selling it.
    I bought a bedroom set from RTG years ago. The trundle wasn’t braced and broke the first time we tried to use it. Everything else, the rest of the bookcase bed and desk…is still good 10 years later. The trundle kind of pissed me off though. I never contacted them. Just too overwhelmed with the move and everything else at the time.

      Isn't crazy how awful some of the things available for purchase these days are? It's like repeat business isn't important to some companies. It's the "get them now" mentality. I think RTG is probably safe if you stick with basic furniture like dressers. We have literally been throwing away one piece of the couch every 2-3 months since making this video. We are down to our final pieces and will be calling for a dumpster soon to get rid of the rest. Truly sad!

    IT IS HORRIBLE.

I feel like it’s uneven and like I’m gonna fall forward when I’m laying on it. Also, the right side of the sectional is super firm while the left sags so deep. Whether sitting or laying on this couch, it’s just uneven and uncomfortable. I should have trusted my gut feeling when buying from them second time. Thank you for sharing your video.

    We purchased our couch 3 months ago and the down in the couch is now smelling like a barnyard and the fabric is pilling!! We had the tech come and shave the pilling but they refuse to clean it even though we paid for a 3 year extended warranty.
    Sales guy LIED and said with the warranty we could make a claim and get it cleaned every month

      That’s awful! We had the same experience with our first couch. Bought the cleaning solution and a warranty and the couch looked awful. Had a Rep come out to take pictures and states there was nothing they could do. Complete lack of customer service. I was embarrassed for them! Sorry that happened to you too!

    • @b.b.9858
      @b.b.9858 Год назад

      Yeah you always have to read the warranty. Or at least get the sales person selling you the warranty to point out on the actual warranty document everything he is claiming. My car guy did the same. Said it was for the life of the car. Bull!

    Hi ! I’m just washing your video , well …We bought a sofa a few days ago and we have almost a week with the sofa but we want to return it, because of policies they say that we can’t return it, there is something we can do that maybe you know?! Thank you

    • @TheNeverlanders
      @TheNeverlanders  9 месяцев назад +1

      That's a bummer! I would talk to the store manager and if he cannot make you happy ask for the corporate number. If that doesn't work, you can always find R2G corporate partners on linkedin. Unfortunately the ones with the loudest voices are the ones they usually help. Sorry that happened to you.

    Rooms to go furniture is generally not worth the price. Not all of it is bad obviously if pay $3-4k for a sofa it better be decent, but like most big companies they gain some respect after some years for whatever reason then switch to cheap products that turn the best profit while giving just enough quality that you may not complain the first few months.

    • @TheNeverlanders

      Agreed! Our experience in buying this couch felt slimy from the get go, like even the sales people know they're pitching junk. Oh well, lesson learned. Thanks for watching!

    I’m wondering if maybe it was something you used to clean the couches. Some type of chemical in it that just dried up that leather material. 🤷‍♂️

      That’s fair to say… I think if you read through the comments, you’ll see how many others had the same experience. As for us, we started with water and a cloth. That alone caused simple peeling. We gave up trying to clean it at all peeling happened everywhere. 😔

      We’ve never owned any of their beds or bed frames. I would state that based on the purposeful misdirection and straight up lie about our couch by the salesmen, I wouldn’t trust buying anything from them.

      We got sucked into buying one of their reclining beds instead of the temperpedic that I really wanted and it’s uncomfortable and doesn’t give the option to let one person recline and the other lay flat. Also the frame is wooden and sticks out way more then how big the mattress is so we are always hitting our shins on the frame when we walk by it… especially if our comforter is hiding the frame.
