I’ve heard so many people say that this is a rip off or a replacement for the original thing because the original cast won’t be there, but that’s not true!
I think it being a continuation rather then a spin off is the problem people have. Even though it gets considered as a spin off on the wiki, it's still another sequel. Since most people didn't want another film after Cameron's death, it makes sense people wouldn't be happy about it.

I was tripping when I saw Rita Ora. I was like, is this real??? Lmaooo.
Honestly these days people complain about remakes or the of cast not returning. Even tho there was a death and most of the og cast is not returning , this is not something to complain about. Disney is giving us a good movie for once. Be excited cause it looks awesome. RIP Camren Boyce😭😭😭
I think the main problem people have is it was heavily advertised as Descendants 4 for the longest time, and still is. If you google "Descendants 4" this film is what comes up. According to the wiki even though it says "spin off" it does still mention being the 4th film of the franchise. Most Disney shows when they do a spin off either go under a different name, or they change it up slightly. Like Jessie changed to Bunk'd and Suite Life of Zack and Cody changed to Suite Life On Deck. This is still just under Descendants 4. Which I feel (and maybe what others think) is almost like a betrayal. Let's not forget, after Cameron's death, nobody wanted to see the films continue without him. It would have been cool to see a true spin off, under a different name but in the same world. Maybe as a tv show or animated series, or standalone film but not really a sequel film.
On a personal note, even though it does still upset me they took this route, the film does look really good and I will watch it because I am curious. However, it will not be "Descendants" in my book. If they do more films past this one, I may just call it the "Auradon" series.

They both cut her of in different ways but still plan to take over the kingdom. Only one of them almost accomplished that (Maleficent time to take some notes).
Tbh mal was the one who defeated fairy godmother with the help of Evie, Jay and Carlos and Maleficent did make sure that fairy godmother’s powers were blocked as she froze all of them except for the VKs as far as I rememeber sry if I get anything wrong I’m a little rusty as I haven’t seen descendants since 1-2 years

I wasn’t excited at first for obvious reasons but watching this now.. it’s a whole thing on its own celebrating the same world from totally different views. And i will be watching ❤

I’m cautiously optimistic about this now. I used to hate the idea of this. Mainly because the OG cast is not all back as well as Kenny Ortega (the director of the other three films ) but at least from the TRAILER it looks like they are putting some care into this. (:

The first part where Queen of Hearts comes why does it give Deja Vu from when Maleficent comes to steal the wand. And when Red says “does it look like I’m joking?” gives off Mal vibes when she pulled out her spell book in the first movie when Audrey was being rude.

I have a theory that instead of Bridget turning evil because of the bullying of Uliana, I think it's because she had a crush on Prince Charming but Ella got him. Mainly because of the songs the queen of hearts/Bridget sing like "Love ain't it" and "Shuffle of Love". That could explain the beef she got with Cinderella.
