Digging this concert, especially the jam sessions after 10538 and the not yet released Showdown!! Say what you want about the mid to late 70's being ELO's greatest period, I totally dig the early 70's progressive/hard rock era of the group, especially this line-up totally kicked ass.
Best era E.L.O, phenomenal live versions of some of my fave tracks. Keep your" Mr. Blue Sky", (sorry Jeff), but give me "From The Sun To The World" , et al, any day. Thanks a ton for this incredible upload...Good on ya !!!
I was fortunate to see this concert and was among the minority in the crowd who were there to see ELO. The vast majority had come to see the headline act, The Edgar Winter Group who, at the time, were riding high on the success of the album They Only Come Out At Night and its #1 single, Frankenstein. You can tell from the crowd reaction, as ELO is only getting polite applause. I got to see ELO v2.0 in 1978 for the Out Of The Blue Tour, when they were the headline act and the audience enthusiasm was through the roof ( even though it was an open air concert). I'm passing on this year's tour. ELO is no longer a band comprised of musicians with distinct, vibrant personalities but simply faceless musicians in support of Lynne. I don't want to remember ELO that way.
I like it. Especially Showdown, for a while the music of the instruments takes us to a darker place where the showdown is happening 30:28 until 33:15. Beautiful.
Ci sta uno che richiede a gran voce e più volte, il brano M'ama (Momma). L'ho ascoltato e ricondiviso, così tante volte, sul mio numero WhatsApp, questo spettacolare concerto che l'ho imparato memoria, chissà se faccio numero o vale la sola prima volta ❤ grazie ❤
The very best lineup. Wilf was a far more fluid and musical violinist than Kaminski ever was. Love Mike's gritty backing vocals , and the Edwards / Walker combo on 'celli rocked!
