No one else could play live like this and be so PERFECT ONLY ELO that's why I have been listening to them for over 40 years and I am not about to stop. The lads were GENIUS in my opinion.
I didn't discover ELO until they performed on The Midnight Special on American Television in 1974. I was only 13 and I was blown away and have been hooked ever since!! I am 60 and still listening to all of my ELO Vinyl Albums and Jeff Lynne's Albums too. Both my Daughter and my Son grew up listening to ELO and they like it too. There has never been another sound like it!
Какая экспрессия , они фонтанируют , они испытывают удовольствие от своего выступления, это очень прекрасное видео, счастье, что записали!!;;; Джефф Линн молодой Бог, столько харизмы в нем, голос и его вариации просто бесподобны. ❤
Mam ten koncert na płycie DVD trzech koncertów, super przeboje wszechczasów zespołu Electric Light Orchestra,a koncert bardzo dobry.Chociaz jestem fanem od czterdziestu lat nadal słucham muzyki z CD i DVD koncertów jestem z rocznika 1966roku
This was from 1st February 1974 and is especially interesting for me because I saw them only a month later at Chatham Central Hall on 2nd March 1974. It was the first live gig I was allowed to go to! Amazing for someone to have filmed this.
ELO live was out of this world ! saw them 15 x in concert starting in 1973 through 2019 (jeff Lynne's elo) the "original" magnificent 7 with kelly Grocutte & Melvin Gale was wayyyyyy better than j,(eff Lynne's elo) sorry jeff
I've noticed that Mik has inherited Wilf Gibson's cape in this clip, wonder if he was hoping that nobody noticed the fact that Wilf had left the band a few months earlier.
Thank you for posting this. There seems to be a shortage of live ELO show, not unlike Pink Floyd (until after Wall). Saw some wonky show that obviously featured ELO playing over pre-recorded tapes. Looked like Richard Burton introducing them...
That was Tony Curtis introducing the 1978 Wembley Concert, and you are right in one respect, 'Standin' in the rain' was dubbed with the LP version. I have heard the live version and don't understand why they did it
no thats the out of the blue tour dvd- i own it!! bad sound because the band cant hear themselves so the pumped the studio version in to guide them.-- they have remastered sound version and it is the best elo out there!!!!
Is this the Brunel University Student Union in Uxbridge? I went there in the late 90s and the best we got was an M People tribute act (and LTJ Bukem, which was admittedly great).
Playing with The Orchestra.... formerly ELO Part Two... been performing ELO music for about 28 years more after ELO... and as of 2018 he's still at it!
Jeff was clean shaven in his Idle Race days and he never had much success with them, luckily Roy Wood threw him a second lifeline in 1970 to join him in his successful band The Move.
Totally disagree 😅 The 1970s had an excellent variation of styles and fashions ....creativity in clothing was far more interesting. In comparison , look back over the last 20 years , and see how bland everything seems ?

I'm pretty sure that's a fact

Confirmed fact
Ditto
Me too,Exactly
From this funky little jam in 1974 to the over and out tour of 2024. What an incredible run.

Ma Ma Ma belle takes me back to the good aul days in the 70s. What a song, so underrated.

This sounds so much better than the studio recording!!! This was a very good live line up!!! Raw and and tight!
Drummer beats the crap out of his drums!!!!! AWESOME!!
a.k.a. Bev "Basher" Bevan according to some old sleevenotes...
Thanks ELONut for posting this rare footage of ELO during their early underappreciated prog pop/rock period.
Those kids in 1973 had *no* what they were witnessing. One of my absolute favorite sets of theirs.
In the hall of the mountain king you find great balls of fire - wow great stuff ELO.
I've noticed that Mik has inherited Wilf Gibson's cape in this clip, wonder if he was hoping that nobody noticed the fact that Wilf had left the band a few months earlier.
This is brilliant. I love some of the early E.L.O stuff. Such a shame it is so short
Brilliant. Love these older, prog tunes so much.
Just so talented and Brilliant! ELO have spread so much joy. Genius xx
I was at school not 3 miles from here in '73. Wish I had known. Loved them then, love them now.
Recuerdo a estos genios con el disco en el tercer dia todos mostrando su ombligo.
interpretaciones que no moriran aunque pase el tiempo.
Y otro hit en el que pegan sus rostros te acuerdas?
Epic performance! Some of the best live ELO I've seen- thanks for sharing!
Awesome video. Jeff Lynne must of had a Jethro Tull thing going on with that hair.
This is heaven. Thanks for the vid.I love ELO👍👍👍
Master piece 🙌🎸🎸🎼🎵🎶🎹🥁🎻🎻
I never saw them LIVE, though I heard it years ago on my record.
Jeff consegue modular a voz como quer, é incrível!
This is AWESOME! Sure miss talent in Music this decade!
This was from the time before Jeff realized his future was so bright he has to wear shades.
Gift from heavens, Mik steals the show
Not that I disagree - but how?
I saw a lot of Mik playing the violin. Not a fiddle Country Hicks 😂
Jeff's got the Graham Chapman "Yellowbeard" hair goin' on!
HAHAHA!!! SPOT ON! :-)
Pure, wild, classic ELO "set-song"...
Great Early live performance! Just shows you how geat Jeff Lynne was then!
Interesting alternate version of Ma-ma-ma-Belle with a different ending.
Thank you!
I really enjoyed this video.........Thanks for posting!
Superb!
CD reissues blew my mind
Mike on bass class
This is brilliant!
0:00 King In The Universe
4:32 Ma Ma Ma Belle
9:24 In The Hall Of The Mountain King
14:23 Great Balls Of Fire
Thanks for sharing this gem!! I seem to recall ELO playing "Oh No Not Susan" in this stage... Maybe I'm wrong...?
Pure Rock'n'Roll at its best!
Love how in the early days of ELO you could really hear the cellos. Seemed to lose that later playing bigger venues.
THAT was his style then ;)
One of the reasons Jeff would start to dislike the huge tours
The children of the Beatles of course. Fantastic stuff. 😊
can be found on the Live: Early Years DVD
ELONut May I please have a link to a website where I can purchase said dvd

Brilliant!
Awesome!
Why didn't Mik Kaminski get more of the spotlight? He should have got more solos's on the lp's!
Mooie oude beelden.
Klinkt goed, en de opnamen zijn ook best goed.
Love it!
This is a cool video and the audio is pretty good too. Where is it available? or isn't it?

Hey John Bonham that’s how you beat the Drums ❤️😂🤣
Sabrina Nascimento They were friends and both subscribed to the same hard hitting style.

I am mystified: Richard Tandy is playing what looks like a Fender Rhodes electric piano yet I hear an acoustic grand. Can someone please explain?
me imagino que la foto de la portada la tomaron en estas sesiones, ya que son las mismas melodas
gotta love mik violinski kaminski where is he now?
Playing with The Orchestra.... formerly ELO Part Two... been performing ELO music for about 28 years more after ELO... and as of 2018 he's still at it!
Towards the later years I saw less and less of him. I like to hear Charlie Daniels Band play a. Violin not a fiddle. It insults me.
He went out for a gallon of milk…he’ll be back in a minute.
Would ELO have achieved more early success had Jeff been clean shaven and somewhat better groomed?
Jeff was clean shaven in his Idle Race days and he never had much success with them, luckily Roy Wood threw him a second lifeline in 1970 to join him in his successful band The Move.
ademas estan vestidos igual
Mieszanka różnych stylów
Quand on se prends pour ELO ou ROY WOOD?.iL FAUT ARETTER mémme si c bien fait
Interesting how in ma-ma-ma-ma-ma Bell Jeff sings lead but on the new live album he doesn’t do lead on it .Could this proof that is vocals are going
as is often the case with elo, chorus vocals are canned
rodneyriddnauer How do you mean?
What? Pinch me
E.L.O.bands.Jeff Lynne’s and the band singer need a hairstyle.🤟✌️👆👉👈✋☝️👌🤘🤛🤝👍👏
What a load of crap
What's with the bell-bottomed track pants, Jeff ? What an embarrassment the 70's were, in sooo many ways !
Bell bottom loons were all the rage in the early 1970's, I used to wear them myself, they were Brutus brushed denim blue ones.
Totally disagree 😅 The 1970s had an excellent variation of styles and fashions ....creativity in clothing was far more interesting. In comparison , look back over the last 20 years , and see how bland everything seems ?
Just fantastic. So real.
