To the kind people who warned him, thank you. Thank you very much for your kindness.
But we have alarm bells going off all over western countries and a significant majority of the population just isn't getting it. That tells me we are all in for a very tough time.
Makes me happy.

It's not just kind. It's smart and brave. This BS shouldn't exist anywhere on Earth.
Honestly sounds like that lady at the border was really hinting that you shouldn’t come back with that interaction
Yeah I thought I was reaching but it seemed like she was warning him.
Or maybe it was procedural. She didn't want to detain him right then and there, but she needed at least the plausible deniablity that he promised her that he would come back.
That's what I was thinking. It was someone on the inside that leaked him the info so I would assume the team assembled to take him in wasn't really eager to do so
I think she was hoping you were going to stay to help expose the party some more
@@thiagolucas893 most people in China have let things slide because they don’t want them to be the same as them.
An Australian businessman I know had a similar experience about 3 years ago. In his case, he had gone to China to set up manufacturing facilities to produce for export a biomedical device he had invented and patented (in the west). He was welcomed with open arms by the Chinese authorities and received a lot of help from the local district governor in setting up his factory and hiring a skilled local workforce. Not long after production began he was informed that his business was being compulsorily bought out (for a fraction of the cost of setting it up) by a local politician and he had absolutely no say in the matter; he was told to take the money and leave China quietly, otherwise he'd end up in jail for 10 years on trumped-up charges. He initially decided to stand his ground and fight, however after receiving a tip-off that the police were coming for him he decided to make a run for it in the middle of the night and managed to get out via Hong Kong. Not only did he lose all the money from his investment but also the intellectual property for his invention; it is still being produced in that same factory and evidently sold under a different name & model branding as a unique Chinese product.
Dang you hear stories about that of China all the time. There’s no protection rights and things eventually get stolen. How is he doing now? I hope he manage to invent better things... Sigh
If China is known for something then it's for its joint ventures with the aim to learn foreign technology. It's the whole purpose of such joint ventures. I don't know why non-Chinese companies agree to that.

As someone who has lived in China for the majority of my life with a German dad, I understand your situation. My dad was also illegally doing stuff on the internet and he did not tell me what but he assured me that it was legal in the West. Anyways, he was once caught doing those stuff again. And the police looked for hin, luckily the police entered the wrong house (that was conveniently my fathers other german friend). He quickly called my father and he packed his most important things and talked with my Chinese mother. My mother understanding the situation, quickly let him leave the house. At that point he traveled all the way to Shanghai and somehow passed by the security, got on to a plane and returned to Germany. A year later my mother and I went to Germany as well. Now I am living in Germany, telling others on how cruel China could be thanks to yours and many others videos!
Glad your family is safe.
These kinds of stories are so outworldly. China has been hunting down for people just like the Germans started before going out to war. It is almost like history is repeating itself.
So happy you escaped!
Well that's not true. If this happened in the last 20 years you cannot just get on a plane in China. Because they search you for contraband and you know. . . . Make you pay.

I had to flee Shandong Province the same night and fly straight to Beijing. Then I fled Beijing to Hong Kong the next day. I feel your pain. It was so abrupt, and my gut was like, "Damn I have to get outta there". On the flight out of Yantai, a man told me they were targeting a bunch of foreign teachers that month. Setting them up. I doubt it was someone wanting to do good. More likely they just wanted to scare the shit out of him and make him leave. The whole thing was crafted by their internal security people I’m almost certain of it. If you are a US citizen, Australian citizen or from another country that is standing up to the CCP they may arbitrarily detain you for political reasons just because you have a passport from one of these nations though so he was wise to bug out. I also know people here who have been grabbed by state security in China when they have arrived by air and interrogated about things they’ve posted online. The whole house of cards there relies on a false narrative and if everyone learned what was really going on the CCP would collapse. It’s why they’re so damn afraid of words or criticism.

I visited Hong Kong back in 1996 - the year before control was handed back over to China. I remember a conversation with a friend who was working there at the time. I told him that the CCP would not respect the agreement to allow Hong Kong to remain independently governed. I said that it was just a matter of time before they seized control. But at the beginning of our relationship, while he was finishing up his doctorates, he suggested me and my son move back to China with him. Alvin Brinson This Friday coming so tommorow
C-milk please continue this discussion in a Part 2, etc. We know this happened over a year ago and we see you are reunited with your wife and children in USA. How did that all transpire. Prayers and best wishes to you and your family. Love your work and look forward to your Podcasts with Winston.
Yes yes yes. Your story is quite fascinating and very timely, more details please.
This should be watched by every American and beyond. I’ve waited a long long time to hear this story
J C this would be wasted on your US population as too focused on what's happening in US sadly
Machelle Perham No need to care. All you need is strong army and strong FBI, CIA and strong dark projects that work for the US. So people can focus on the US only. No need to think of foreign countries. Thnx
DI MI fair call, I agree with you entirely
9:29 "Everyone has a cellphone on their camera" is actually technically correct.
It was a cell phone before it had a camera
@@krazyshady902 As far as consumers go, cameras existed well before cellphones.
dw i will make America into another China.
You are so important man. Your point of view is extremely valuable.
there's a popular German song which main line is " Freiheit, Freiheit, ist das Einzige, was zählt." , it translates to " freedom , freedom, is the only thing that counts"
China doesn't approve
@@sd-wc9ep -10 points for saying that.

@Ip zen I know plenty who would willingly starve to be a martyr of freedom
@Ip zen Ive done that, it's not to bad as long as you have water. Whats really scary is is when you don't know when you will eat again
I visited China in 2015 and found it to be an alien place. Some people very very friendly, others were very cold to me. I can't imagine being there in 2019 or 2020.
Take a trip on a fishing boat to Taiwan, don't tell anyone your intentions then pop-up in the US 3 weeks later.
Taiwan is the real China.

2:00 Can't believe this man just called our green piss water beautiful.
In comparison to mainland it probably is beautiful
“our” hey man u going gud there?
@@jayg9087 Nah man, I've been to mainland before and at least from what I remember it is either just as bad as Hong Kong water or mildly better. Nothing as green as these waters.
That's what I was thinking when he said it. I remember the waters between Hong Kong and Kaloon was disgusting. My friends and I joked about needing a tetanus shot if we fall into it after a night of drinking 😄.
@@onyourleft9273”our” is communistic therefor we should use “my”
Wow, hey, I just realized this is the first time I've seen a sincere talk without self-censorship on screen in China with real Chinese people in the background, and I've lived 33 years in Mainland China. Thanks, man, you just expanded my capacity to imagine. And thank you for doing real journalism for my homeland and my people.

Don't think too highly of your personal judgment, do you have to lecture others on how to make bitter and cheap judgments to feel yourself important enough or what?
It's a darned good thing that the Hong Kong Security Law hadn't passed before you had escaped, otherwise you would have *STILL* gotten busted.
