Very good advice! One of our cockatiels was rescued in our garden. He was sitting in a high tree calling from time to time (luckily he did not fly away). It took us one day of whistling together with our neighbours and finally he decided to fly down to us. Nobody claimed him, maybe someone didn't want him anymore, we decided to keep him. He was tamed. Now we have two happy cockatiels.
This happened to me. My female grey cockatiel flew away through an open door 🚪. My instinct was to watch were it landed it landed nearby but it was in a very high tree 🌲. I called her and she heard me but it was her first time free flying or outside so she didn’t know how to fly down. After an hour or two she flew were I could not see her. In my mind she was lost so I went in tears 😭 to my house. The next morning I wake up really early and hear her chirp then I went to her mate another cockatiel that I have and placed it somewhere very visible from above. After that she flew very close to it in a neirby tree 🌲 after that she tried to fly to my other cockatiel but missed she flew to my neighbors house and tried to land on a small tree and fell to the ground and then I FINALLY caught her.
This is so comprehensive!! Thank you so much. My friend lost his cockatiel and I'd really like to try and get it back for him (and for the cockatiel to be safe.) ❤
Is it safe to play the cockatiel sounds to try and locate or lure the bird at night? Or could this put the bird in danger from predatory birds and animals? I'm in Australia. I have a house with a high second story where I could play the sounds and leave the top windows open. Also, if I drive around playing the sounds from the car could this possibly work? Thanks again for your video.
I only had my cockatiel for 5 or 6 weeks and had no idea she could fly since she had her wings clipped where I purchased her. My mother took her out when she came to pick something up and my mother's cap scared her. I was in mid sentence telling that she shouldn't take out and she flew right out of the window and my mouth dropped. I did what you said and found her near the roof but then she took off SO high past a bunch of trees and out of sight. Thanks for creating this video and I hope I don't have to utilize your strategies again. 🐦✌

I kept hearing a bird squawk as I was doing yard work but paid no attention. After going inside I kept hearing a bird squawk outside. When I looked out I saw a cockatiel sitting on my deck railing. I went out and she jumped on my finger. It took several tries to get her past the screen door which spooked her, so finally I grabbed her and we got inside. I advertised that I found her but nobody replied, so she became my very first cockatiel. Definitely don't give up searching if you lose your tiel.
got him ... thank you .. took a bluetooth speaker played flock call on repeat till i located him about 100 yards away .. threw sticks at him till he flew into a tree i could climb.. that took most the day .. got him on my shoulder and he actually stayed there all the way down the tree and back to the house .. my birds totally wild but i guess he has bonded to me .. the key is dedication and a loud speaker and a ladder.. living in the country helps too
My cockatiel flew out of the front door when she got scared and for 2 days I chased her and ultimately, I got her back. For 30 hours this poor bird didn't eat or drink. In total I spotted her 5 times and on the 5 time I finally caught her. I spent about 12 hours in total looking for her. I have never been happier in my life. I've posted tons of posters and notified several neighbors but nothing helped as much as actually looking for her. I've been finding her by playing cockatiel flock calls while riding an ebike. She was very scared the whole time so unfortunately I had to use a fishing net to catch her as she would've flown away. We waited until it was pretty dark so that she wouldn't see us coming. She is now sitting on my shoulder and doesn't want to get off. 😌😄

How do you train a grow up Tiel to recall? Moat of my birds are young and have been on my shoulders almost all their lives but the older ones seem soo independent and like to stay away from people
Positive reinforcement with their favorite food, you give a cue showing the food and reward it when the bird gets close. With time you can increase the distance and the bird will come even if he doesn't see the food
I notice you have a lot of birds that must bond with each other, how do you still form such strongly trusting relationships with each of them when they are so attached to another bird?
I try to spend much time with them and associate good experiences for them when they stay with me, like foods they can only get from me a lot of cuddles😁 And I always let them go if I'm holding them and they show that they want to go, so they learn that they don't risk any constriction from me
There is one more thing that is important, if it is windy outside, the bird that was never outside is probably bad flyer and wont be able to fly against the wind, so the wind will carry it away every time it tries to fly.
3 days ago my cocktail flew away to forest😭😭😭😭😭😭😭i have been serching for him😭😭😭pleasee pray everyone to come back my cocktail to my home😭🙏🏻its my request
Our cockatiel flew outside our huge door on the 5th floor, then when he realized he flew past the door, he immediately turn back and landed on the floor. This happened 3 times. Young children left the door open. He stays free inside our apartment.
My brother's cocktail bird flew away from the garden and I heard the bird in the morning and went to find and kept the bird cage outside but it didn't come. Feeling upset. What should I do now?
I have a question, how can I help my cockatiels with adaption? I got them 4 days ago, it is a couple, both of them are 2 years old. The guy who sold them to me didn’t take care of them, they are scared of everyone and everything , they don’t eat anything apart from seeds. They grew in a large cage with 20 other cockatiels. The male(Gucci) he is very active , he is scared of us but he eats a lot of front of us and loves to watch what we’re doing. With a female (Ozzie) it’s different, she eats a bit, once or twice per day . She always shuts her eyes which is so weird, even when we get near their cage male cockatiel moves away from us, and she stays in the same position . When we got her on the first day I’ve noticed how her wing was bleeding, I’ve texted the guy, he said how she will be fine in a few hours. But she is not okay, on the second day we opened the cage so they could leave it as we needed to place some things in their cage and wash it. The girl, she can’t really fly, she always falls down and when it was time to catch them and put them back into the cage she bit my husband and kept screaming with Gucci(male cockatiel). I added some vitamins to their water on the second day, as she also kept scratching herself for so long and keeps biting and rips off her feathers. We added a bath to their cage but they ain’t using it. I always give them different kinds of food(vegetables, fruits, porridge and etc). When I turn on the cockatiels singing videos the female gets more active , she stretches out and starts to look around for those birds and replies back to them.. and sometimes starts to eat when she hears those singing. However, today it didn’t wok , from yesterday’s morning she haven’t ate. My husband says maybe she’s ill , but I don’t know, I texted the guy who sold us those cockatiels but he ignores me, even when I asked him what month they were born so I know the exact their age , he ignored me. The vets are closed due to quarantine. But, I’ve noticed some improvements, on the first day they were very scared of my hand, but now it’s been the fourth day and when I move my hand slowly to them they just watch it without moving, but if I touch them they start to fly around. The male cockatiel he eats everything, he loves cabbage , but female, her appetite is very bad, her poop is very watery and mostly green.
The female doesn't sound healthy and needs a vet check as soon as they open. They need time to start trusting you, I made a video about that if it can be useful ruclips.net/video/8ZLyKpzywZ4/видео.html

My cockatiels are mating daily and the tame male has become very moody and aggressive if we go near the cage. Is this normal ? How long should it take if shes going to lay eggs? Hope it's ok to ask this here🐣
Yes it's normal, males become aggressive when their female starts laying eggs, then it drops a little with time. Usually it takes around 10 days after mating regularly for the first egg
Hi my cockatiels have recently started mating iv heard that once they start they never actually stop mating and will do jt for the rest of their lives so since I'm inexperienced in this can you make a video on it I know u have done similar videos but can you make one whole video talking about the most important things we as owners can do for them how to check if the egg is fertile and stuff like that?

Bro why you are putting pellets inside the breeding cage?
You mean the stove pellets in the nest? It's good as it keeps the eggs and the babies in place, then it absorbs the feces when they are growing

Hi I'm thinking of getting my cockatiels a aviery in my balcony would it be okay to leave them there during winter or is it too cold?
Too cold definitely
They can live outside all of the year only if they have all the time to get used to it, from summer to autumn to winter. They can't be taken outside in the winter if they were living inside home until then. Yes it's normal, males become aggressive when their female starts laying eggs, then it drops a little with time. Usually it takes around 10 days after mating regularly for the first egg
@@TielZone thanks so much👍
@@TielZone so it's been three weeks of mating and no signs of an egg. Can females be infertile and just never lay eggs?
Hi my cockatiels have recently started mating iv heard that once they start they never actually stop mating and will do jt for the rest of their lives so since I'm inexperienced in this can you make a video on it I know u have done similar videos but can you make one whole video talking about the most important things we as owners can do for them how to check if the egg is fertile and stuff like that?
I am watching ur video becouse my cockatiel is missing from yesterday.. I am so sad and we found him always and throughout.. But i couldn't found until today. Our areas not any facilities.. I cant think about that bcz I loved him so much.. What can I do?? And can he go to the any other house?? Its good for me. But when he already satyed on the tree, can other birds attack to him?? Plz reply me Iam so worry about and I know Iam gone mad 🙏🙏
