Are you thinking of moving Amanda and her baby to be with Bonnie and Belinda? With the boys tussling it might be safer for the baby to be closer to the house and away from the rough housing.
It also may help Amanda establish herself in the herd, and give the baby herd-mates closer to her size to play with.

Highland cattle are unlike most breeds. The bulls are generally gentle until threatened. Allowing the family to bond as a fold is very beneficial to a calf.

Hey Morgan! I have a quick tip about your pumpkin plants. When you notice that the young plants (when the leaves are still very small) are flowering, you want to pinch off the flowers. This is because the young plants are not yet able to support producing large fruit. You should wait till they have several good-sized leaves to allow them to start producing fruit.

There's no need to do that. The plant produces a lot of male flowers to attract the bees, so when the plant is ready to produce the female flowers, the bees will be around to pollinate. The plants know what they are doing without interference from humans. There is one small exception; since the pumpkins are inside the hoop coop and no bees, then hand pollination will be needed.
The pumpkin plants will not produce the female flower until it's ready. You're not going to get a pumpkin from the first few flowers. If eating them is something you would like to try, then go ahead and remove the flower. Otherwise, leave it be, the plants know what they are doing. 😉🙂

    • @jaginaiaelectrizs6341
      @jaginaiaelectrizs6341 Год назад +8

It depends if it's genuinely only because she knows and trusts them or if she maybe really just doesn't care as much as she should in general. You'd have to get a stranger in there or something and see if she'd be more protective then, maybe. If she really just doesn't care as much as she's supposed to, it could leave the calf vulnerable and unprotected even at times when the calf really needs a mama watching out for it. This could just be due to inexperience[ as the mama Amanda is young and this is her first calf ever so she might just not quite know what she's doing as a mom yet] and may improve over time-or it could be that Amanda simply isn't the most maternal cow in the world and motherhood may not be her most natural or preferred potential calling in life. Only time will tell. I'm sure Morgan will keep a close eye on it, either way, and will act accordingly to whatever they do or don't turn out to need. 🙂

Your pole gate was called a laundry pole by my grandmother. When the blankets got washed the closeline drooped to low and the pole held the blankets from the lawn. I love watching you figure out how you are going to work your farm. I wonder how my father figured out things when he was 16 and had his first farm. He had left his parents small farmette when he was a small boy and moved to the city. He couldn't wait to get back to what he thought of as better days. Anyway thank you for bring me on your adventure.😂❤

Morgan, I love the idea of naming her Babette!!! Such a great name reference from, for me especially, Gilmore Girls (played by Sally Struthers who also played the daughter of Archie and Edith Bunker on All in the Family). And I know Morgan has seen Gilmore Girls from the great references he has pulled out in past videos (I personally believe made just for my amusement). Side note to Morgan: I finally got my own chickens (Rory, Lorelei, Babette, Miss Patty, and Bonus Nugget (I got outvoted on the last one)). But just wanted to say thank you for all the years of videos to teach this ole city gal what to do for chickens and how to give them the best life.

    🥰 BETTY GOLD 🥰
thats what I vote for, like the wonderful namegiving artist with her amazing sculptures and other art projects, the adorable, sweet little calf managed to surprice everyone already by it's birth! So... I believe that name fits perfect... especially on this farm, right?
I enjoy every new glims I get to see about your golden farm!
    Btw.
❤ Thank you also very much Morgan, for speaking up (besides everything else) about your eating struggles and also about ADHD!
I'm suffering from an emotional binge-eating disorder with the twist of punishing myself by eating food, that I absolutly dislike. Watching your steady weightloss makes it easier for me to bite through my own weightloss. Also several of the, from you described situationes, that you related to having ADHD and me - realising I could relate very well to quite a few of them, made me get tested out! Since some weeks now I now, that I'm having ADHD too and that my permanent lateness a.s.o. is actually simply a severe time blindness because of ADHD! 😅
There are realy no words that would thank you enough, for all your shared content about these subjects.
❤ Thank you and Alison for sharing all the wonderful moving moments on your farm! Wow - what you've accomplished over the last couple of years! 👏
May God be with you both and your remarkable farm!
    🎉 Greetings from Austria/Salzburg
