Thank you for this, especially with breaking down the pattern measurements. I made my own and it turned out quite okay! Question about the crotch curve: I have the base curve lengths, but how did you calculate the height of the curve? Does is matter as long as the front curve is shorter than the back curve?
Hello, thank you so much for watching. @ height of the curve, I think you mean the Crotch Depth? To measure your Crotch Depth, sit upright on a flat hard chair, and measure vertically along your side from waist line down to the point where your bum meets the chair.
Lmao @ "Struggle getting in the loo" I totally understand!! 😂😂😂 You could first take out the waist band ties. Reduce the waist line width by cutting down the excess and sew darts for shaping. Re-attach the shortened waist band. Then, add a zipper to one side and sew up the pant legs at the sides from top to bottom. Best wishes!
Hello Yolanda, I really appreciate your sweet message I have just put an example in the caption further explaining how to calculate the Total Crotch Base easily (02:26 ). Best wishes!
I used to own a pair of these I bought at Urban Outfitters and loved them so much...Now I see ads on FB being advertised for $165 which is outrageous. Would this pattern also work as a Halter Jumpsuit?
Hello, thank you for watching. Oh $165 is too much! 😀 No, this would not work as a halter jumpsuit cos the front piece is not long enough to reach the neck. So try to extend the front piece upwards and make it longer. Best wishes.
I've watched this part 6 times now. How do the tucks work? What do you mean by "half of bust span"? Where did you get the 3 inches from? My WS result is negative. What do I do?
Help Cat, please give me your dimensions (Waist and Hip) and I will work out your numbers for you. TUCK EXPLANATION - Both of the top edges would be the same width, for example 16.5 inches. So, if waist circumference is 29 inches, then half of that is 14.5 inches. So, the waist shaping (WS) amount would be 16.5 minus 14.5, which gives 2 inches, which is the width of each tuck. The length of tuck is 3 inches down, and the position of tuck is done using Half of Bust span as a guide ( Bust Span is distance between both nipples).

One of the measurements you mentioned was hip depth. But I've looked through your whole video and I don't see another mention of hip depth, and none of your explanations mentioned that again. What is that and do we really need it?
Hello Kathy, thank you for pointing this out. I'd considered doing a bit of shaping at the sides, which is why I added the Hip Depth measurement, but later realized I didn't need to do that. So, please disregard that one.
@@NedouxSews sorry I eventually figured it out! Although I’m a little stuck on the crotch part. Mainly bc mine looks massive compared to your pattern. I got a 14 inch EC.
@@NedouxSews I ended up figuring it out! But any advice how to make the pant legs less wide? The pattern is amazing for my waist but I have 36 inches of fabric bunched around my skinny legs. And I don’t know how to adjust the legs without effecting the waist.
@@tiffanyrobertson889 Hello, Yes, these are loose fitting pants, so I've allowed for room around the crotch area. My own Eased Crotch Depth is 13" (actual crotch depth of 10" plus 3" of ease ). But you could definitely reduce ease to 2" if you think 14" is too much for you. 😁
@@tiffanyrobertson889 Hello, so sorry, I missed this comment. To make the legs less wide then decrease the hip measurement by 3- 4 inches, this decreases the amount of fabric used, or simply skip adding wearing ease to your actual hip measurement. Please note that I've tried it with the legs less wide, but I did not have sufficient coverage, because there is no side seams, it kept exposing my body when I walked or sat down as the fabric didn't wrap enough around my legs. 😄
Hello Bonnie, here's how to take measurements- WAIST - The waist line point is usually found 2 inches above your navel/belly button. Pass the tape rule round your waist, at that point. Measure snugly HIP - Measure around the fullest part of your hips (thighs and mid-bum) CROTCH DEPTH - When seating on a hard chair, this is the vertical distance from your waist line point to where your bum meets the chair, measured from your side.
@@NedouxSews , thank you, M'am! That's a much better measurement! I found a gentleman here in RUclips who instructed in drafting the pattern. He said to take 1/3 hip measurement. ....I made mockup and that's too much. I now have to cut off 3.5" from top to get these to my natural waist line. I've just measured as you instruct....and that adds up to his calculation - what I'm cutting off. Perfect! Also, I had watched your video and upon making this mockup of the drafted wrap pants I found the darts you put in (which his pattern does not) are, in fact, needed. He also suggests 5" ties.
