This is a pretty cool idea. Definitely more pleasant than those harsh beeps.
Whats going on with it currently? Wouldn't you need to go through the board of the MTA? i imagine it would be a difficult process
Yes
Sounded really nice to me. Often times we think of how to add beauty to cities with visual arts but rarely do we consider using sound. Cool concept!
It would be very good in helping people relax and feel human too :)
There are lots of harsh sounds in any large city. Street musicians, rain, and snow falling are some of the more pleasant sounds out there. I am so grateful for the sounds of street musicians and nature in a big city. It gives me great relief and pleasure among the hustle and bustle and weird close quarters among strangers. I'd like to hear a longer concept audio of this subway turnstyle music. It's hard to get a good handle on what this really could be. Thanks for hearing me out.
If nyc really shoots this down, can we do it in toronto
This needs to be a thing. How is it not?
You need more Likes... we love your idea!!
I'm from Newcastle, NSW... I'd love to hear it on all our buses, trains and ferries :-)
Why isn't this a thing!!?
Still waiting, MTA
awesome.
Awesome !
did this project ever go thru?
No I believe it go rejected because they thought it would cause too much of a disturbance to people using the trains while installing it. It is supposed to be used on the lowline project in NY but that project has been put on hold due to a lack of funds.
@@leer9360 thats a bummer, well the past year would of been a perfect time but we all had alot to worry about
@@JoshuaWysocki yeah thought it was a great idea but at least we have his music back now haha
Dude that's a great idea :)
I wonder if he designed those sounds or what kind of synth and pad he used for this?
Tu eres el q pregunta como hizo los sonidos??
Carlos Flores haha, sí, tu qué andas haciendo por aquí. Está de huevos no?
Si no manches, suena a caja de musica, como de madera o algo asi, como vas??? Q dice Dubai??
I don't like his so called beautiful turnstile sounds.
Hey? You Know What We DON'T Need in New York? More Bumper-softifcation of the City making the place more Kid-Friendly and Tourist Safe! This possibly the Only comment on this list from an Actual New York Native- Leave New york a Little HarsH
"The world should pay me for something it doesn't need". We get it, your last gig was 4 years ago and you need money. Go find real problems to solve.
I don't think he was asking for/expecting money... it's a beautiful project and it's deeply saddening to me that it wasn't realized in NYC, because it could've spread to more cities and eventually reach where I'm from.
Get'cher head outta yer ass.
Realistically, with or without LCD Soundsystem, James Murphy is a big-time industry figure with money to burn. Anything he would've stood to gain from this, if anything at all even, would be negligible at best. So, fun as it might be, yank off those cynic-goggles and maybe realize that people (even millionaires, shockingly) can come up with something out of genuine passion.
Sometimes it's just the little things. But sure you wouldn't know to get your head around that.
