It's not Canon and logically doesn't make sense. You don't go from a somewhat grounded Batman game to aliens and shit. The amount of time the JL got set up, batman doesn't seem to have aged much.

This is an elesworld Batman in my opinion from not giving into the Joker toxins in Arkham Knight. To now being brainwashed by braniac. Doesn't sit right with me,and the way he's humiliated and shot Arkham Knight had a better ending.
And above this, he got shot in the helmet
There’s more context to what happens. He is dying from Blood Loss. They kept him alive so he could reluctantly help them create Golden Kryptonite as Brainiac altered Superman’s DNA to make it so Green Kryptonite can’t affect him. After he reluctantly helps them, he’s already dying from internal bleeding which is why Harley shoots him, as well as for Vengeance for everything Batman did.

I will say: The beautiful thing is that Arkham Batman managed to avoid getting shot in the head...without his bulletproof cowl on.
That's exactly what I am saying. No monologue, not even a sentence, they made Harley speak for him as if she really was the one who needed to speak.
I mean Batman’s true final words in the game were pretty dope, is actual final words as himself if you would have played the game, he actually is the one responsible for everything working out for the SS, even after all of this he still saved the day but blind hate kinda just makes people take this scene out of context

I saw another comment here that already said it, but this game SHOULD have been a Arkham Batman saves the Justice League.
It would have been a great way to introduce the League into the Arkham universe, while showcasing that Batman ALSO has contingency plans to *save* his friends (rather than the usually explored contingencies to defeat them).
Although… it would have never worked with the live service driven developers behind SSKTJL. Had Stefon Hill, Daniel Bailie, Nathan Burlow, Ian Ball, Ben Wyatt, David Hego, Martin Lancaster, Nick Arundel, and David Buckley (aka the talented team behind Arkham Knight) all been behind it… it could have been spectacular.

And also made clear that Braniac is the one controlling the JL directly, and he’s pretending to be them, playing with them like toys rather than using their true full capabilities

Edit: For the record, I don't really care. I feel nothing about this game. My only reaction is "well, that's lame." The OG games were overrated as hell but a pretty cool depiction of Batman. This game is just a Harley Quinn self-insert masturbation session of retconning her to be like the modern interpretation. It's the same thing as The Last of Us II or the Disney Star Wars films. The legacy characters don't act in character, so I feel nothing because I don't know these characters, and I'm not invested in them. They didn't grow and change realistically, they are just different because the writers demand they act a certain way. I don't care who says this game is canon, it narratively does not fit, therefore, I am unable to engage with it as canon material. Arkham Origins wasn't even made by the same team, and yet because the characters were written faithfully, it's easy to engage with it as canon. Just like The Last of Us II and Disney Star Wars, I'm already beginning to forget this game exists.

I am just fine with Batman and the others dying, what I don't like is how fucking lame those deaths are. We have characters who have guns, throw deadly trick boomerangs, wield firearms and weapons that have a goofy clownish exterior, and a guy with the power to rip men apart with his bare hands and rows of teeth. The deaths of the Justice League should be funny and spectacular set pieces to talk about, not forgettable instances where the hero takes a bullet and falls like a sack of potatoes.
....These are literally the villains these characters face constantly. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. Because that's how comic books work. Jesus fucking christ.

I also feel like we haven't had enough time with this Justice League. We all wanted a game where we'd actually PLAY as these heroes in the Arkham-Verse post-Arkham, but instead we're getting this disrespectful garbage that kills them all in humiliating ways, even watching a dude urinate on the corpse of The Flash. The Suicide Squad is a group given SUICIDE missions that they're not expected to survive, with bomb collars that kill them if they step out of line or at the end of the mission. Yet here, this is just a group of people who decide to band together and take down THE JUSTICE LEAGUE? It's like these guys purposefully wanted to make the worst garbage they could think of. Wouldn't this have been a better game if we start off as a hero who can't be mind controlled and play as the entire league as they get free, taking influence from the PS2 DC game? This is supposed to be Harley's redemption, and we come out hating these guys more. At least Lazurus pits are confirmed to exist, but DMT and LSD exist in all universes, so maybe this is just some dude's nightmare.

When a 27 second edit does Batman more justice than the game developers who created this universe. Harley was spared time after time by Batman, the fact she couldn't do him the favor in the instance it'd be more important really goes to show how much Rocksteady has fallen from grace. This and Joel's death in TLOU 2 are genuine embarrassments to some of the written gaming protagonists of all time. Even excluding that, it's a goddamn disgrace to bring Arkham Batman back just to kill him again.
Ain't wasting a dime on that POS, you have my respect and now my subscription.
You got a solid point for the most part, but you're wrong by one thing: the people behind this aren't the same devs who made the Arkham games great, this was the idea of a bunch of newbies who wanted to make a quick buck with the name of the franchise and had zero respect for what made it great.
In fact, the original devs left the project early on, so that explains why none of this feels connected to the Arkham universe in any way.
No self respecting Arkham player is going to consider this game canon.

The hardest moment in the entire Arkham verse that walk away after is so badass
In someways tho it’s very in character for batman. If there’s any of him left in there fighting the mind control he would let Harley kill him. Bruce knows what a threat he is hence why he left a strategy for Robin and the bat family to beat him and since that didn’t work the real Batman would take any opportunity to save the world from himself even if that would mean fighting the mind control enough just to force himself to stay sat there and let Harley kill him because Batman would make that kind of sacrifice.
It may not be an amazing death it may be sad seeing him go like that. But if the real Batman was in there he would choose to have that happen.

Honestly that’s what I find most annoying about this game like it doesn’t take that much effort to fix some of the issues in it when it comes to the story because the characters are all interesting and a story of task force X having to deal with the justice league is really interesting. Like it’s all there they just had to put it together correctly and they went and f’d that up

I mean, Batman in this scene was already injured way more than any other scene in the Arkham games, given he has hella bullet wounds. Then he just came off of being experimented on by Lex.
That being said, Arkham Batman would've put on way more of a fight in the boss battle rather than just falling back on Fear Toxin. His best scene was the predator mode in early game. The fight felt like it belonged more to a different character.
Heres the thing, arkham batman would never of been captured or even take the damage he took. The game would of ended if it was the real arkham batman!!!

Batman should have been the only one not brainwashed. Having the option to play as him would have been amazing. Watching him take down the Justice League alongside the Suicide Squad would have been amazing.

In my opinion it should be the arkham origins voice actor to continue with batman's voice. He was good.
He wasn't as iconic as Kevin Conrad, but he still did great work in Origins. I'd gladly let him take over voicing Batman more often.
Admittedly, the one argument that could be made as to why Batman died sitting down is that he wanted to. We all know Batman's mental fortitude, so maybe this is his resistance against Brainiac. He would rather die than serve evil. Of course, that's not in any way made clear to the player, so the death still sucks. But hey, at least the optimistic thought can maybe soften the blow.
