Also one of the main things I remember from my pre teen years more than anything is scoobies! A bit like loom bands but with longer pieces. Everyone in school would come to me to start off their scoobies as apparently I was the best at it 😂
I was 12, and honestly same 💀 omg yes! I think we called it something different but I know exactly what you’re talking about - it was with the plastic lace stuff right? We did them at summer camp and I was the official “starter” too 😂😂
i love these hits of nostalgia, i remember doing most of this stuff too when it was around that age so having a throwback to that is very nice, thank you! That being said i just wanted to add, dont be too hard on yourself! You literally are not 'ugly' at all, if you mind your hair maybe look into the curly girl method because it looks like you have plenty curls but tend to brush them out or something so maybe that would help making you feel better about it, but thats just a suggestion if you want to change your hair up a little!

Aw thanks - I tried it for a while but using conditioner everyday and only using shampoo once a week made my scalp itch tbh. I work out every day and usually get all sweaty, so my hair feels gross if I go more than a day without washing it (at least with conditioner) The sad thing is I didn’t brush it, I just went outside and it was super windy that day so I tried to “brush it” with my fingers to fix it 😅 I’ll have to keep experimenting with it!
@@MeganWeller i really bet it was fun aswell looking at old pictures and remembering all the stuff! i sadly dont have old pictures of my crafts back then but oh well
honestly some methods in the curly girl method just dont work for some people and its not as set in stone as them being set rules. if you prefer using shampoo aswell as conditioner whenever you wash your hair thats fine too! my mum actually has way more curls than i do myself and she washes her hair daily with both shampoo and conditioner, she does use gel though so the curls keep their structure a bit better since as you said, wind can kind of mess with it a little bit. finding out what works for yourself might take a while though sadly since different peoples hairs react differently than other peoples so its just trial and error!
i personally kind of like the 'brushed out' look myself so i dont even "treat" my waves properly, but i know from my mum that shampooing every time definitely is something that can work for some people so if this is something you want to try out more, dont be discouraged by all the curly girl "rules" that dont seem to work for you and just test around a little!

For the record Megan you’re not ugly. Stuff with hair happens it’s fine. I color my hair too much and mine sheds like crazy so there’s that… but it’s fine everything is fine.

I was a huge rainbow loom person, I had a box full of everything I made. I remember putting rainbow loom bands on the wire for my headphones and I thought it was the coolest thing. I also remember my friend giving me like 30 different rolls of duct tape so I made a ton of stuff with that as well

The ideas and trends will always come back somehow. Rainbow Loom is back. I’m always impressed by people’s talents. Perler beads for all ages and whoa the art people create. I still think a pencil pouch to put on a notebook is a good idea for journaling folks. Or planners. I love galaxy theme so my thing as I love syfy
True! Omg really? Maybe I’ll have to see if I can figure those out 😅 omg yes I love Perler beads - there were so many craft trends I left out, I could probably make this a series lol. Yes! Or if you were like me in school and always lost your pencils (although with my luck if I did that I would lose the whole notebook 🤣) I love Galaxy stuff too, I still think it’s so pretty!
@@MeganWeller Galaxy theme is so magical to me. My brother taught me about astronomy. I gave him a galaxy calendar for Xmas 2022. It’s real, we live in a galaxy. So what’s not to love. I still want to make those penicl/pen pouches for my journals and sketch books. If it brings you joy and happiness do it. I’m still in love with kawaii and cute. I love collecting plushies lately esp Care Bears. A new one got released and it’s calming heart bear. With a calming scent. The message on the box had me in tears.

Hi Megan, I love this video. I was totally on board with the loomband hype, which was very big in my country (the Netherlands) as well. In fact, they still sell the stuff here and there. Ductape crafts were never a thing here, and I don’t remember the other stuff. But that might just be because I live in my own bubble, lol😂. I don’t think you’re ever too old for any crafts, just as long as you enjoy them and they make you feel happy ❤

i didn't notice the bald spot until you pointed it out! you could part your hair on the other side and it would cover it. if you care about doing that. i think it's cool. also, you're so beautiful! if i was to give you a makeover i would probably just work on your curl care routine to define your curls better. and maybe a trim. you have great skin, brows and features so to think you're ugly is totally a product of social media and looking at pictures of people that have been beyond edited.

You’re absolutely right - I tried the curly girl method but I can’t deal with not washing my hair every day (I exercise every day and get all sweaty, my hair feels gross if I don’t at least condition it every day) Shampooing it once a week made my scalp itch, so I’m trying to do it every couple days - I figure that’s better than nothing. I have really thin, fine hair so it’s been a struggle trying to find products that work without weighing it down too much. I do need to get to a salon soon, I’ve been putting it off because I feel like 9 times out of 10 they just make it worse. (It was also really windy out the day I filmed this which did not help 💀💀)
Thank you so much though! You’re so right - the most I do to my pictures is color correct and maybe smooth out my skin (because let’s be real, people know what I look like 😅) but it’s scary how good the beauty filters have gotten lately.

I'm a few years older than you, but I had fun with some of those crafts when I was younger, especially duct tape. I still use it occasionally in fun colors to decorate & reinforce a cardboard box for storage. 🙂 Cute wallpaper, too. (I was so confused why your "shadow" was pink, lol)
Please don't say you're ugly. God made you just right. As for hair stuff: 1) try switching your part to the other side to help hide the thin spot. I have thin spots on either side too, so I never pull it all back (I leave the two sections nearest my face down, and then pull them into the hairdo later, so I have a "headband" part. 2) Try high-quality shampoo, especially one meant for curly hair. 3) Have you heard of the Curly Girl method? It's basically using high-quality shampoo, as well as certain gentle handling techniques. I'm pretty sure your hair would do fabulously with this method. 😊

I really need to get to a salon lol, I’ve been putting it off because they seem to always make it worse 😂 I like the idea of the hair style you do - I think I’d need to get a hair cut that makes some of the front pieces shorter if I wanted to try that. Yes, I’ve tried the curly girl method! Fun fact: rainbow loom is still very much alive and there are even things called Loomigurumi, which, if you know amigurumi, it’s basically the same thing but with rainbow loom. it’s really fun and there are whole communities still thriving off of it.
That’s awesome! I’ve tried doing amigurumi crochet projects but I never thought to do it with rainbow loom bands - I feel like that would be a lot harder though 😅 I looked it up and it seems like people make some pretty cool stuff, definitely have to research that more sometime! 💜

I thought that for the longest time too - I even go my makeup done by a “professional” and it looked terrible. But I learned that heavy makeup just doesn’t suit my facial features, which is why it always looked so bad. I also learned that I have hooded eyes, so I need to apply eyeliner with my eyes open 😅💜
