Anna Oikarinen Art is a massive tax write off. Wealthy people will buy an art piece for cheap (for a few thousand dollars) then they will ‘donate’ it to a an art gallery. The gallery will value it at millions. That then becomes a tax write off.
When you see the original 'cathedra' in RL you'll understand. That whole painting is made with a single hair paintbrush and dozens of shades of blue. When you sit down in front of it and watch it for a longer time it seems like big blue clouds moving across the canvas. Really worth watching.

This is so funny and makes me angry at the same time :') People being oblivious to the fact that once you made art, you are an artist and what you did is art, no matter what it is. There is no "fake" or "real" art. That's what the whole past era of modern art gifted us, the ability to just make art for the sake of art, just being able to enjoy the process and see whatever we want in a piece.
Exactly. I couldn't handle the irony past the halfway point. I watched the rest of the entire thing thinking "Wait... You're making art to prank people who enjoy art? You sure got 'em."
@@FoxdevilswildUnic That is not a gift, that modern art has gifted us! That everything we create can be labeled art is just gives all these shitty art galleries an excuse to waste tax money.
@@LibertyForAll-l3q There have been people pushing the idea of what art is (and being told that what they make doesn't count as art) as long as there's been art. Many of those people are now seen as icons of art history.

@helena I do art myself im 23. Not professionally by any means. I'm apart of this community as well. Neither of us doing art makes our opinions any more important then the other. The general public sees abstract bs and thinks badly of us and the community as a whole. Not everyone does. But a lot of them do. Just my opinion and what I've seen and experienced so far.
Stfu this ain’t art it’s someone who realised pretentious pricks will buy any shit that you call art and “artists” will keep pumping the shit out because it is easy money or they have such an inflated ego they for whatever bullshit reason believe it’s actually good
sitting duck727 I’m so fucking sorry but art is easy? Some of my artworks took a year. This is a real gallery but it took no effort. It was an experiment. Art is not easy. If you wanna start talking then go out and paint the bloody Mona Lisa. I’ll fucking wait.
AestheticLady ooooh 😂😂 your argument brought the most overrated pice of shit aka the Mona Lisa as your example I’m not saying all art is easy but I’m saying the stuff she demonstrated like a fucking red square 🟥 is over rated and easy I appreciate that there is good art but my argument was more focused towards the overrated shit art that sells for ridiculous money I also feel this way about brands like Gucci even though I can afford to buy the shit I refuse to because it’s crap 💩 you are welcome to send me your art and I will give you an honest opinion but you can’t expect everyone to appreciate all shit just because I’m told it’s good it’s freedom of speech and as long as I’m not wishing harm to anyone I can say whatever the fuck I want about shitty art however that being said I appreciate the video as she points out that this is stupid it’s this comment that I commented on that pissed me off
AestheticLady also I could spend 6 years on art but it still doesn’t mean it’s good maybe that just means I’m shit at art and it took me 6 years to finish a life of shit or in your case a year
I trusted the algorithm to bring me back to this video and was not disappointed. 3 years later and I am now promoting an etsy shop to sell my artwork. This was such a good video
I often feel like that's not a fair argument, there are tons of recycled concepts in modern art, people dont just paint a square because it takes zero effort and the only way you can get an emotion from it is by reading the title or exerting pretentious perspective. If painting a singular color on a canvas counts as art, what makes that different from encountering the common color In nature and feeling the same things. Wheres the value in a white canvas covered in white paint, no texture or anything fancy, just plain white, they could've just not painted it at all, I could've just looked at a piece of copy paper. I don't expect every artist to create complex hyperealistic portraits, but at least something that shows they really care about the arts and aren't trying to make quick cash, theres beautiful abstract out there, and then you have blank canvases and bananas taped on walls.
As an artist myself (properly educated, the lot, "alibi in box") I find this video Great and Fun to watch, and so happy you managed to sell some as well. Fighting cancer is way more important than the occasional artist feeling "they're making a joke out of precious me!" - also, most people can manage to make ONE piece of art, the problem is to repeat the process wo just copying other artists. The Degas and the Picassos and such. And, of course, minimalism. Anyhow, great job, big fun, and you all seem to be such nice people. Keep going. Thumbs up.
Salma Ahmed I want to say something but I really don’t know what to say. I love this comment and I normally say I’m really bad. But all you need is absolutely No EfFoRt aT AlL. 🤪
if this isn't art i don't know what counts as art... i mean, this is a great gallery, not much people would actually do this and that's what art is all about, the small portion of people that actually turns an idea into a reality
@@parkerw.2155 I'm no artist, so even if you put an art evaluated by real artists to be valuable and one that's made by an amatuer. I won't be able to judge unless it's within common sense. Most people in this video seems that way. In the end, they still made something that's art to people like me. But I do agree with you.
True ... The real point of famous and very high priced paintings .. behind is a dead artist ,a good storyline background,a hype from collectors and auctions ,and may be very old ones so the years added them more money .That's the real thing .
@@parkerw.2155 Doesn't make it a fake art gallery. Art is subjective, so if you put up works of 'art' for for show and/or sale, with no suggestions that they have a pedigree beyond that which is opaque, you have created, by definition, an art gallery. Whether it's good art or bad art, is for the buyer to decide.
I work in the art industry. Have been in it for most of my live. Basically, you just created a tutorial on how to make a gallery 😂 On a more serious note, I do not believe in “art” or “artists”. I believe in creativity and what might materialize from it. And the outcome of that may or may not be considered art by some. You’re an immensely creative person.. So yeah, basically, you just made “art” and even better, you found a way to find an audience and capitalize on it while making an actual social commentary. Hats off 🎩👍🏻
"How I convinced people that these paintings are worth thousands of dollars" Me: Someone literally taped a banana to a wall and it sold. Honey, your fine.
I'm wondering if some of those huge bids are actually real though... if one of those art pieces manages to sell for millions- that might turn the art world upside down

This reminds me of the time when someone faked a gourmet restaurant and kept telling people they were fully booked and the restaurant didn’t really exist except on paper/yelp. mxp official Art isn’t defined. If someone sees art in something, it is. Actually everything that’s been created can be seen as art, like plants nd also humans. It’s about the emotions getting triggered looking at it.
unfortunately the reason these paintings cost so much is because of the pretentious circles that the artists are a part of. the fine arts scene really just has to do with rich people making investments than if people like the artwork

@@xxaidanpheonix5465 Agreed. Again, we must LOVE it ourselves, regardless of who made it or why. Art is about how something creative makes us feel individually! 👍♥️
No. Art is a transaction between the artist and the observer. The artist creates something because they are engaged with the process of creating images and they have to pursue ideas that interest them. Observers don't "pretend to like" art. They either like it or they don't. This idea of a "pretentious self deception" is in the minds of cynics who are rarely interested in what artists are actually trying to do and indifferent to finding out. That does not mean legitimate criticism is not valid. It is just that we need first of all to get a handle on what the artist is trying to do. It is not a passive act but an active one. If all we want is art that reflects the familiar and does not require us to do anything other than make fast judgements of "good" or "bad" then art has no purpose other than decoration. If you want good criticism of modern art then check out Brian Sewell. He pulled no punches and gave a good account of why modern art might not actually work. But then also check out positive criticism of modern art and get an insight into why it can be quite brilliant.
I’m soooo inspired. Last year I fell on black ice. After three months on being depressed I cried out to God for strength the next thing I know I was creating abstract paintings. I have over forty pieces hoping to start an exhibition 💕💕💕wish me luck 💕🌻

Modern Art in a nutshell:
You: "Ya I could have done that"
Modern Artist: "Ya, but you didn't"
@@frostdragon_7887 I definitely agree, I mean that modern art should not be made by its easy, but for the hidden meaning. But the banana tree..... lol
