House Baratheon is actually a very young family, in comparison to the other great houses. The house only formed during Aegon Targaryen and his sisterwives conquest of westeros 300 years ago. Its founder was Orys Baratheon, who’s rumored to be Aegon Targaryen’s bastard half brother.

Lucimyr King Jaeherys I the grandson of the Conquer said it was a open secret. Also the A World of Ice and Fired mentions it again. I think it's pretty much confirmed and it matches the relationship between House Plantangent and House York and House Lancaster.
Yes they are, their bloodline is too diluted to ride dragons but yeah they’re a legit branch.

The theory is that she had him swapped with a different baby. Or something. It's a good theory just look it up. I believe it's true cause then he would have Targaryen blood and he would be the 3rd head of the dragon. Instead of Tyrion being a Targaryen. Which is also a good theory you should check out
Didn't Robert still kill the boar? If he did, that would make his death a whole lot more badass. I just seem to remember him saying something like he managed to stab it through the eye or something.

Yup, I think he did, and if I'm not mistaken he also tells Ned that they have to cook it and eat it at his funeral (can't remember if in the show or in the books though)

In canon the only real hope for House Baratheon if Shireen dies is the only acknowledged natural child of Robert, Edric Storm.
Not all of Robert's are dead. There's still Gendry, Mya and Edric, plus a couple more - I think/hope. Not all of them are in King's Landing.
Apart from the the three main ones, Bella was the only one mentioned not killed, but it's unlikely that's still the case.

@@geoDB. A royal decree can do it in my place, no need of certified parentage or something else. Remember, a King does what he likes(and in this case, Denerys did it for Gendry in the show, she legitimized the dude. It can work in the books too).
I suspect Gendry will have an important role during the final two seasons of Game of Thrones. He is a blacksmith after all, with possibly enough know-how to forge dragonglass into weaponry to defeat the White Walkers. Additionally he's the only person in Westeros with Baratheon blood in his veins, despite never having been acknowledged by his father. He just has to finally get off that damned boat!

Fun Fact: House Baratheon and House Arryn are related there common ancestor is Aemma Arryn she married a Targaryen,Viserys the First.Which makes Robert Baratheon and Robin Arryn half sixth cousins (if that’s a thing).Which I guess this also means Dany is related to Robin Arryn although very distant

Jon Arryn descends from Rodrik Arryn by way of his unnamed first wife, not his second wife, who was the Targaryen princess (and Aemma's mother)
The current Arryn line doesn't descend from Aemma Arryn. It's more likely Rodrik Arryn. And house Arryn doesn't always have the next ruler be the child of the previous, in Fire and Blood, sometimes it went to another sibling or to a cousin.

Where did Orys get his last name from? His mother or just made it up?
being Aegon's bastard half-brother was a rumour not fact, however I do believe that he was but he probably got the name from his mother and was a highborn-bastard. Baratheon sounds too good to just make up.
It's possible that Orys' mother was a highborn lady of Valyrian descent, but not as pureblooded and high standing as Targeryens. Possibly like with Celtigars and Velaryons, her parents weren't siblings and she had black hair with blue eyes. It is highly possible to inherit such physical qualities for a Targeryen (look at prince Duncan, son of Aegon V, Baelor Breakspear). So, Orys must've gotten his features from his mom, but also from Aegon's dad and may've resembled him greatly, since Aegon was also known for his strong build, broad shoulders and powerful looks.
Maybe baratheon is bastard in high valayrian culture like snow in north

Great video. But there is a slight mistake: Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen all three of them are officially Baratheons. Although we know the truth that they are children born of incest between Cersei and Jaime, that doesn't make them Lannisters. Even if they were exposed as bastards, they would be "Waters" or "Hill", not "Lannister". :)

I think Gendry ‘Baratheon’ will legitimize himself and become the last living Baratheon that has children eventually.
Considering only kings can legitimize bastards I'm sure Jon will do it. Also it makes sense that Grendy should keep the Baratheon line from going extinct considering it was founded by a bastard.

In the show, the last time we saw Gendry, the bastard son of Robert Baratheon was last seen heading away from Dragonstone to hide in the Kingslanding slum of Fleebottom. I think that if he is brought before Daenerys Targaryen, she may legitimatize him as lord of Storm's End if she gets him to "bend the knee." She may be willing to claim the last remaining offspring, legitimate or not, of the man who killed her brother, Rhaegar, as an ally. She never met either Rhaegar or Robert, but it seems that Gendry has inherited his father's near legendary strength and is a skilled blacksmith, and assuming he's still alive, one of the last traces of the Baratheon line left in Westeros. Also, if the ages of the cast are any indication, Gendry would likely be one of Robert's oldest bastards, since Joe Dempsie, the actor that played Gendry, is just one year younger than Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark.
So if Ormund Baratheons sister has living decendens, would they be Shireens/Mycellas heirs?

I love how amazed you are on the simple fact that you were doubting you being able to have enough subject matter on your topic to be able to make a video on the House Barathian's familly tree & further you again mentioned it with shock.But why im amazed is you say & do all this while at the same time you start the video by anouncing that your not going to cover the first 300 years of the Barathian Familly tree which is allot of info tones of info most of it & it being very interesting & crucial to the timeline of how & when the Barathians House became a powerfull house with so much influence & the lands which they had acquired & were given Lordship over them & also the history of the great or big battles fought for them & to find out & know things like how Stormsend got the name Stormsend.Lets Face it Ther was choke information on the subject & i find it really nuts & odd & frustrating that you would short change such a interesting storyline & screw viewers out of the opertunity to gain some super cool knolledge & miss out on the opertunity to see & do awesome & neat stuff like going places we all knew to still be a Secret.
I feel like some important Baratheons were left out like Rogar, ultimate badass, & Hand to King Jaeharys the Conciliator; along with his kids Boremund & Jocelyn.
He married the King's mother Alyssa Velaryon and had 2 kids; Jocelyn would grow to marry Jaeharys' heir & Prince of Dragonstone, Aemon Targaryen.
Aemon & Jocelyn had a daughter, Rhaenys Targaryen, which is the 1st time, for sure, that Targaryen blood legitimately entered the Baratheon Family.
This relation is also what Robert Baratheon hung his eligibility to be King on. Normally some rebel wouldn't be made King but since he could prove his lineage with Targaryen blood he was eligible to become King; otherwise, most likely another Great Council would've been called to determine who was next in line to sit the Iron Throne.

The family trees are great, but I feel like the shorter versions are taking away from the whole point of the family tree. Even if you don't discuss, or know the backgrounds of all of the members of the tree, at least put their names there.

Though it isn't shown in tv but Stannis did care about Renly. Until clash of kings. I still think It's Renly’s own fault. Since Stannis didn't have sons, his true and legal heir was Renly. Which the latter failed to understand and waged war against his brother. Stannis also gave Edric Storm to Renly yo raise
I thought Stannis was the older brother? And that is why he feels he should be king since he was the oldest and the crown should have gone to him.

To be honest I think Gendry is the only legit Baratheon left in the story so he should take up all lands belonging to the Baratheon name.
He was in the show, but it's unlikely in the books. Robert has 3 living bastards in the books: Mya Stone, Edric Storm, and Gendry. Edric is acknowledged and a son, Mya is acknowledged, but a daughter, while Gendry remained unacknowledged. If any of Robert's bastards were likely to be legitimized in the book continuity, it'd be Edric

That's not how it works. Other houses marry each other all the time and they're not considered kin.
Baratheons aren't the only ones with Targaryen blood either, Martells, Penrose, Plumm, Longwater have Targaryen blood in them. There may be others.
Baratheon is a different house so they're not kin. Kinslaying is something done within the same noble house. If a Stark killed a Stark then it would be kinslaying, if a Stark killed a Karstark, it is not kinslaying.

He is, just a combination of two characters. Another one of Robert's Bastards named Edric Storm, has has the story where Melisandre toys with him and has Davos save him.
