- Title sequence for the third instalment of the PS game. Behind the 3D was Nicky Wescott with a really nice twist of having it all going backwards. We developed the music reversing that at the end with various edited elements added in to keep the pace moving. Have to say I really still like this one, effects in DS with editing in Avid. (Didn't really like editing in DS so tended to keep that as an effects platform)
The Designers Republic did such an incredible job with the logos and animation for this opening sequence.

Over ten years later it still strikes me just how cinematic and refined the imagery and sound is.
I loved watching the animated logos in the second half of the intro more than playing the actual game.
One of the defining games of the original PlayStation era - this intro was so good (it still is). I was a big fan of The Designers Republic™ (RIP) back then, and their contribution to the graphical design in the early games in the Wipeout series was a marriage made in heaven. A shame that union ended with Wip3out, but the spirit lives on in the present day with Wipeout 2048.

Directed by Nicky. Music was bespoke from Sasha- behind the 3d were myself, Darren Douglas, Ashley Sanders and Jeff Bramfitt. Your edit tied it all together rather nicely thanks;0)

Damn, I miss that 3,2,1,go character from the starting grid. Why don't any of the newer games in the series have it?
