- A quick drive through a small portion of Atlanta and Metro Atlanta during the COVID-19 crisis. Normally Atlanta is a bustling city with lots of things to do for the family and a robust night life that goes 24/7 but as you can see, the residents of Atlanta are taking the Covid-19 crisis seriously. You'll almost never be able to move around the city this freely without experiencing large amounts of traffic.
Fun Fact: The city of Atlanta falls in 3 different counties. Fulton, Dekalb and Cobb. You can have an Atlanta address but live in one of the three. The city of Atlanta has less than 500,000 residents. Metro Atlanta, which includes 10 surrounding counties, has almost 5 million!
During the American Civil War, the city was almost entirely burned to the ground in General William T. Sherman's famous March to the Sea. However, the city rose from its ashes and quickly became a national center of commerce and the unofficial capital of the "New South". During the 1950s and 1960s, Atlanta became a major organizing center of the civil rights movement, with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Ralph David Abernathy, and many other locals playing major roles in the movement's leadership.During the modern era, Atlanta has attained international prominence as a major air transportation hub, with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport being the world's busiest airport by passenger traffic since 1998.
I live in Atlanta. I’m away from home for awhile (in another state with family). Taking night time drives like this through the city is one of my favorite things to do. 💯💯 Put on some good music, ride and just chill. This video s exactly what I needed to hold me down until I get back. It’s like being there. Thanks for the vibes. Great video ! 💯💯🙌🏽
It's crazy that this video was made 4 years ago at the peak of COVID. Now videos like this won't necessarily get cherished in 2024 but I thank you for making it before when almost everything was on lockdown and you couldn't really go nowhere. This video will definitely go down in history when people see the words COVID19
Nice! I love Atlanta!
Wow. Going down memory lane with some renovations. I remember traffic was this light, late 80s. Thanks for sharing
really feeling the music and night time cruise.
I been to Atlanta. I like Atlanta. Home of the Atlanta Braves
Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Few people get to experience the complete freedom to go anywhere that the city at night affords. You seemed confused around the thirty minute mark but recovered nicely. You got me completely turned around on Terrell Mill but that street has been confusing me since it was a two-lane road…
Don’t forget Clayton and Henry counties which are included in the Atlanta SMSA, or what used to be called that. Half of the airport is in Clayton County.
Nice video bro! Keep up the great work
These drives are pretty relaxing.
Thanks! More videos are coming soon!
I haven't seen ATL traffic this light since the mid-1980's
Glad I got a video of it because it's not back to normal yet but it's definitely ramping up again.
Great vid bro
25:33 You went from going north on Peachtree Industrial Blvd to the intersection of Clairmont rd. and Buford Hwy in a split second....I know you edited out a good bit.
Definitely a good time to shoot this when traffic is super light and it's easier to see things.
I need to know these songs RN g
I just shazzamed them lol
Dude, it could have been just around the block, and I would have been cool with that, I sooooo! long to get back to AtL, the privilege I had before this C19 kicked in, Never ever take a person, place or thing for granted.....😪😪😪😪😪, But I will be back, Thanks for sharing.
Wow literally nobody on the highway
Ikr 😏 theirs usually LOTS of traffic on the freeways
This was during the lock down. Covid had the city on lock. Nobody was out for a long time. Now it's nothing like that.
Nice
