I initially didn't like the LP pack, even though I'm a big fan of the music. Then I realised the secret is to act like your throwing a tantrum. Just absolutely chuck your arms, punch through the notes. Made it really fun.
That's exactly how I play the LP pack. You need to put some angry thoughts and moves for it to be fun. I put that one on when I feel like I need to let anger out after a stressfull day.
The Linkin Park is really fun if your in the right mood. Which is aggressive. It has a different type of flow that works when you think of it as attacking the blocks. Great one to play when your stressed
It’s doesn’t have the fancy environments and looks people may like, but I love the songs and the maps. Rattlesnake, Stronger, and Overkill are so good.
I just bought it today as a newb and feel like it does a good job of adding skills that you don't pick up in original OSTs. Epic, Overkill and "Strong Man" are also just great songs!
The Lincon park maps don't have a traditional "flow" I would say they are charted more percussively, but not poorly I find them high energy and lots of fun
Linkin Park is my favorite band of all time, I love the look of the environment from the Linkin park pack, but I do agree that it's not that flowy, I recommend some of the custom maps over the others, exept Numb, numb is a really well mapped and flowy.
I just love the linkin park pack. It might be that knowing and liking the music helps a lot in figuring out the flow, but it does match the songs very well. It's also the most challenging pack (more or less) in the lot.
Seeing you rating my favorite music pack (Lady Gaga) low-ish and mentioning all but my two favorite songs in that pack (Rain On Me and Born This Way), I want to tell you the story of how I fell in love with Beat Saber, and how one comment from you changed everything. We got a Quest 2 this Christmas, and being a Guitar Hero fan I knew I had to try Beat Saber. It was ok at first, but I really started enjoying this game when I was playing the Imagine Dragon songs. I wanted to get better at the game, and I ended up with one of your videos. There you said that you probably wouldn't become the best player in the world because you liked to "dance like an idiot". Well, I thought you weren't dancing like an idiot. You're great at it. But it got me thinking. If you can "dance like an idiot" on youtube, then I can "dance like an idiot" in my living room. For context, I'm a 45 year old anxiety ridden chump. I do feel the "idiot" part. But if I could have chosen all over again, I would have chosen music and dancing, not engineering. But now I dare to live that dream just a little bit, in my living room, dancing like an idiot and singing "I'm on the right track, baby, I was born this way" to myself. So thank you, Naysy! For your wholesome videos, and that small comment, "dance like an idiot". It meant so much to me.
I was disappointed with the Linkin Park pack too. No flow really, blocks all over the place. The most fun I had is with the Interscope pack, could be cos I grew up with those songs, but also the maps are very good. The Panic pack is great too, really wish it had more than 4 songs.
I remember playing a lot of the Green Day maps when they launched, but I rarely go back... ever. ID Bad Liar was my first Expert full combo and that was the first Album that actually made me look up the artist & listen more and was also the first video I ever uploaded to YT. The most surprising to me, was Billie Eilish, I fell in love with the maps and her music, that's actually my warmup album now.
Imagine dragons - Radioactive was the first song I beat on e+ followed by I'm a natural. Bought it on second day of getting my headset and it was a blast. The second one I got was the panic at the disco pack and it was really fun to play and a bit more challenging. I still play them from time to time. I also got the Linkin park pack and forgot about it. It has many spread out pairs, the ones that you have to hit in one swing, but they have a gap between, and I find it exhausting. Based on those 3 packs totally agree with your ranking :D
I bought all the packs while they were on sale back in December, and I agree with you on 100% of these (even putting Linkin Park -- who I love -- in the D tier) EXCEPT I would switch Lady Gaga and the Interscope Mixtape. You said you got better with Imagine Dragons; I went from Hard to Expert+ in Lady Gaga (and used the speed modifiers). I still can't beat Overkill or most Camillia songs on Expert+ though lol.
I would like to add that some of these packs can be really nostalgic to certain people. Like to me, I used to play Rocket League every day around 2017 to 2019 and the Rocket League music pack is really nostalgic for me, making it my favorite.
So glad I found your channel, love the skills and sass, would you be interested in doing a setup video? Love to know how you set up your headset table back there
For those of us who aren't nearly as good as you... I actually liked the Expert map for "In The End" on the Lincoln Park music pack. It did take me a bit to get used to the flow on it (again, not nearly as good as you. - haha) But, once I played it a few times and figured out the motions it was trying to get you to do, then I found it to flow well. I also find it to be one of the harder Expert maps, which I like because it helps to fill some of what seems to me to be a rather large skill gap between most Expert maps vs. most Expert+ maps. Having been kind of stuck on Expert maps for a while, that one along with a few of the other harder/faster Expert maps has helped me to improve to the point where I can play more of the Expert+ maps now. Agreed on the Panic at the Disco pack, even though I'm not really a Panic fan. I also like that (at least) the High Hopes Expert+ map seems to a better job of making a challenging and interesting map to get its Expert+ difficulty, rather than just relying on turning the note jump speed up to 11 like a lot of Expert+ maps unfortunately seem to do. At least to me, just relying on cranking up the note jump speed to make a map Expert+ seems kind of lazy and just not really fun or interesting. Also agreed on the Interscope pack and Counting Stars in particular. And, unfortunately... yeah, I'd tend to agree regarding parts of the Gaga pack being kind of a let down as far as the maps are concerned, as well. I'm not really a fan of Gaga's music per se, but her music does seem like it should fit Beat Saber better than some of the maps actually did.
11:20 I totally feel your pain. I feel this in the lady gaga pack where I have to reach so high to hit the blocks. That’s why I never play it and it’s annoyig
My favs are Skrillex and Monstercat. And just today I beat Rattlesnake on exp+ for the first time. A month ago I was thinking I'd never beat anything on that level, but here we are, yay!
Hi naysy, I love your channel I have been playing beat saber since last December and I’ve gotten really good at it! I’m only 12 but I have gotten an ss on a lot of expert songs! I think your channel makes me very excited to play and I love beat saber. I have bts pack and Billie eilish pack and I have so much fun playing them! In conclusion I think your channel is great! ❤️
As a new VR user one of the first games I purchased was Beat Saber. I am still playing most games on easy mode. As I was looking through the music the only pack I purchased was the Imagine Dragons pack because of my love for the music. And fortunately other songs from the other packs were sold individually. While that is a little more expensive to do I was able to develop a nice playlist that I really enjoy working through for only about $30.00. Great content here.
Imagine Dragons is why I am playing X levels. I got stuck at hard and thought I was as good as I was going to get. I switched it to left hand dominant and it was a whole new world. It made my left side so much better I was able to level up to X. That whole pack is a challenge and I love it. And Counting Stars is probably my favorite map from the whole game.
Wow, I'm surprised you said the Timbaland Pack had bad flow. I disagree massively on that point. So far I think it has the best flow from the packs I've played, but I also only play on Expert, not Expert+. I mean, it really feels like you have to dance in order to hit all the blocks correctly, and there are some really cool patterns. Also in my opinion the genre of music just works so well for beatsaber. I find myself coming back to it constantly.
Man, Green Day is my favourite pack of them all. You have to play in a certain way to enjoy it - jump all over the place and swing your entire upper body like you are in a moshpit. Maps hint that a lot in the starting sections with walls and single blocks
The BTS Tiny Tan music pack is actually patterned on the CHOREOGRAPHY of the songs. BTS Army like me can appreciate it cause it feels like we’re dancing the “choreography” of the song 💜☺️
I love the nonchalant description of rocket League as just, "soccer with cars" it's perfectly accurate yet so out of pocket if you've never heard of rocket league
Great video! Bought Billie Eilish music pack from watching this, and I really agreed with you. Great rytm, and very enjoyable songs. Flow is the word... Personally I really like the Weeknd pack aswell, but Billie Eilish might be my new favorite. Will definately try the other high ranked ones.
I find most beat saber songs (included with the game) fall into a few categories, in terms of how they are mapped/flow. Not every song fits into this, this is just my experience: 1. OST mapping/old. Basically the mapping from OST 1, 2 and 3. This is where they have more awkward mapping, such as going from hitting down , then to the side. OK for slower (easy/medium difficulties) a nightmare for expert/+ 2. Mid. Where the devs had a bit more experience, and the mapping is decent at high speeds. This includes ones like the camellia pack, where the mapping is a bit awkward and hard to follow, but you can figure it out 3. Modern. This is where we are now, with really good flow from one beat into another, even at high speeds. This is like OST 5 and somewhat OST 4. The difficulty of the song can vary based on the mapping. It is like how a hard song that is new could be final boss chan, but ghost is still "harder" because it is mapped in such a way to be a bit more awkward.
I agree with the LP pack. I am a huge LP fan, and the mapping for the songs is just embarrassing. Why am I trying to DANCE to music about mortality and addiction? Its absurd.
I mostly agree with your list, although i would probably swap the BTS and Billie Eilish pac ks - i felt like you could choose any song out of the BTS pack and enjoy it where Billie is more hit and miss
Yeah for the Linkin Park pack, this is one of my favorite lol But I get you The reality is, this is not a pack you dance on. in fact, if you play custom song that is more punk/rock/metal, you shouldn't try to 'flow' and dance like it is a pop/electronic song. What I notice is that when I go for more slashing and 'warrior mindset' kind of pattern, it clicked. I do a lot of cross saber before some intense verse and act more like I'm trying to block projectile that is coming my way. A lot of the block follow the movement of a dodge when a wall is coming. Personnaly I do both, I also like KPop song, but as a man, it feel a bit to girly to start dancing with your hip a lot lol Though I still do it and enjoy it, but it's still weird. I do love Pop-Star from KDA, so that is my guilty pleasure :P
I am honestly a huge fan of Linkin Park. I love their music and I love the maps, even though some are challenging. The hardest one for me is Given Up since I can’t really move my wrists that fast, lol. Other than that, in my opinion, great band all together!
When you got to the rocket league pack, it sounded really like what my parents talked about from really old "American Bandstand" shows: "It has a good beat, and I can dance to it"
Ooh... dIsagree with you on Linkin Park, but when you explained your criticism of the Green Day pack, I had to agree with you. it does feel like it was mapped by a giant.
BTS pack is the best by far, Dynamite is the most fun dancey choreography kind of map ever. The custom ones are fine but don't come close when it comes to making you dance.
Very interesting review. I'll definitely go for the Billie Eilish and Imagine Dragons pack now, have been on a fence for a while. I'm gonna say, the Greenday Pack was my first pack and the one I learned to play Expert on. That probably explains why I always move my arms way too much. :D Also, for Linkin Park you just have to be in rage mode, not trying to go through them chill. I think for that they are quite well mapped, but I do understand your viewpoint here.
Really digging Rain on Me by Lady Gaga. Not sure why. Just the movements with the melodies and the super joyful chorus is just way fun to play to me. Also the song won a Grammy. Really disappointed you don't know Timbaland. That feels like a failure of the education system...or society...or something.
This is a good video but one thing to remember is that some of the music packs focus on the non two controller experience, like the rocket league and monstercat songs are generally easy but have INSANEEE 360 modes
you should do more games outside of VR don't get me wrong I love your VR videos but its good to have a change sometimes and great videos Naysy this was helpful (:
I just bought BeatSaber a few days ago, and have been using custom songs bc the music packs are v expensive in Canada... And I wish they'd release a Ghost pack, or maybe Grandson or Unlike Pluto. Or even video game OSTs. I think they'd fit pretty well as a typical BS music pack. There aren't many custom songs available for any of those bands or other stuff I listen to, especially rock/metal. Kaisarion by Ghost would be amazing in BS.
The monstercat pack was amazing when it came out, but I feel like the map design is kind of dated when compared to the more recent stuff. I do recommend buying some of the songs individually, especially the ones with one saber maps that have arcs and chains.
I baught every music pack hoping they would get better with time. I really don't like the mapping in most of them. Every time i want to play on the go and don't have access to my custom songs i see how much i don't enjoy them and how unsatisfying they are.
I agree with you for them but I havent bought the BTS set, good to know it SLAPS ill give it a shot. I suggest using the Linkin Park songs on expert, they are much funner than expert+ and you can still groove along. I'd never heard of Imagine dragons either before i got beat saber and I enjoy that pack the most. My fav song is the 360 Glide on the Rocket League music pack, good fun
That was helpful, BUT this is only your opinion which is fine but it would be good to hear a sample as well, so we could make up our own minds...I am having a hard time finding out how to listen to a few of the songs in a package before buying it. But thanks, still quite helpful.
I have a song suggestion! ‘Thank You For Hating Me’ it’s by Citizen Soldier but I cannot remember what the mappers name is, but it’s really hard for me to do it but I wonder if you can!
Super helpful. The only pack I don't own is Billie Eilish, because I just do not like her music at all, but if it's fun to p[lay I might just have to grab it.
So far I have bought the LP, ID, FOB, and GD packs. I am the outlier here, I love the Linkin Park pack, the chaotic feel to it matches perfectly with Chester's way of performing and personality. Imagine Dragons is a great overall pack and I find myself playing Bad Liar and Radioactive a lot. Fall Out Boy, oh boy what a pack. I enjoy this one the most. It's fast, the mapping makes you move and sweat, and the songs are fantastic. Green Day is the pack I wish I hadn't bought. I don't feel like they picked the best songs to include in the pack and the mapping is really easy and boring imo. Boulevard of Broken Dreams was my first X+ completion and I got an S on it at that. Far too easy. I plan to get the rest of the packs eventually.
These are just my opinions and what I enjoy playing most. Everyone will be different in what they enjoy the most 💜 Let me know your favourite pack?!

Ye same but LP has really good music and the concerts are fun!
bro its called techmaps
I mean they are a metal band so it makes sense 💀💀
@Reality Is A Dream thats a subgenre of metal....
So true it’s like therapy for me.
*John Cena opens a wall* "are you sure about that?"
Monstercats underrated pack. It feels like a continuation of the main game and what it was built on.
One of my favorites for sure
It’s doesn’t have the fancy environments and looks people may like, but I love the songs and the maps. Rattlesnake, Stronger, and Overkill are so good.
I just bought it today as a newb and feel like it does a good job of adding skills that you don't pick up in original OSTs. Epic, Overkill and "Strong Man" are also just great songs!
This is extremely accurate
The Lincon park maps don't have a traditional "flow"
I would say they are charted more percussively, but not poorly
I find them high energy and lots of fun
Where are my Lincon park fans at?? xD
Exactly! It works best when you play aggressively and think of it more as attacking the blocks. It's a great stress reliever.
lol lincon, didn't know the former president had a band
Linkin Park is my favorite band of all time, I love the look of the environment from the Linkin park pack, but I do agree that it's not that flowy, I recommend some of the custom maps over the others, exept Numb, numb is a really well mapped and flowy.

Also, for Linkin Park you just have to be in rage mode, not trying to go through them chill. I think for that they are quite well mapped, but I do understand your viewpoint here.
yeah I think we need more like imagine dragons. I love the balance between difficulty and flow.
Really digging Rain on Me by Lady Gaga. Not sure why. Just the movements with the melodies and the super joyful chorus is just way fun to play to me. Also the song won a Grammy. Really disappointed you don't know Timbaland. That feels like a failure of the education system...or society...or something.
I am tall with long arms, so I really enjoy Greend day pack, but Imagine Dragons really made me work for my points and it became part of my routine.
You really need to update the rankings since they really update new songs and the background of other packs ❤
I LOVE PANIC AT THE DISCO
The timbaland music pack is fun to just vibe too. Same with the BTS one
This is helpful because I dont like what I have
I'm a massive ID fanboy, so you putting them in S is what we call a correct opinion in my eyes.
This is a good video but one thing to remember is that some of the music packs focus on the non two controller experience, like the rocket league and monstercat songs are generally easy but have INSANEEE 360 modes
Yeah I realised after that I shouldn’t mention this 😅
I grew up with listening to skrillex when I was in elementary school so it was nice to play to it now that I’m 23
you should do more games outside of VR don't get me wrong I love your VR videos but its good to have a change sometimes and great videos Naysy this was helpful (:
I just bought BeatSaber a few days ago, and have been using custom songs bc the music packs are v expensive in Canada... And I wish they'd release a Ghost pack, or maybe Grandson or Unlike Pluto. Or even video game OSTs. I think they'd fit pretty well as a typical BS music pack. There aren't many custom songs available for any of those bands or other stuff I listen to, especially rock/metal. Kaisarion by Ghost would be amazing in BS.
I agree 100% with the Linkin Park being a C, they're one of my favourite bands and it's just not mapped well to be fun.
Some of the Linkin Park songs are more fun on the lower settings. I agree they can be rather labored on the highest levels.
The monstercat pack was amazing when it came out, but I feel like the map design is kind of dated when compared to the more recent stuff. I do recommend buying some of the songs individually, especially the ones with one saber maps that have arcs and chains.
As a HUGE Linkin Park fan I was a little disappointed with the mapping as it does feel a bit clunky at times. I would love for them do redo the pack!
Interscope is my favourite because LMFAO party Rock anthem carried it in its arms
Oh my God I thought I was the only one who felt like the green day pack made you stretch super hard.
You should do a full combo of overkill
I baught every music pack hoping they would get better with time. I really don't like the mapping in most of them. Every time i want to play on the go and don't have access to my custom songs i see how much i don't enjoy them and how unsatisfying they are.
How do you make the sabers spin like that 🤩
I like the LP pack a lot, but you are right, a couple songs have REALLY bad maps lol.
Anybody agree that they should have a the living tombstone pack
All the JSAB players shredding you about where you put the monstercat pack
As a “giant”, I Can confirm the green day pack is great.
The fact that she casually has 5 vr headsets in the backround shocks me lol😳😳😳
Do it again today :)
That was helpful, BUT this is only your opinion which is fine but it would be good to hear a sample as well, so we could make up our own minds...I am having a hard time finding out how to listen to a few of the songs in a package before buying it. But thanks, still quite helpful.
any new vr games coming out Naysy
Please update this list, it’s super useful
Overkill is amazing
For starters just buying the standard beat saber or go directly for a pack?😮
I have a song suggestion! ‘Thank You For Hating Me’ it’s by Citizen Soldier but I cannot remember what the mappers name is, but it’s really hard for me to do it but I wonder if you can!
I love your hair :D
Super helpful. The only pack I don't own is Billie Eilish, because I just do not like her music at all, but if it's fun to p[lay I might just have to grab it.
I can't go back to music packs after modded maps. They feel so outdated
What about Camellia and the OSTs?
I started 2 days ago.
Personally F.O.B and The Weekend are my favourite packs so far (Imagine Dragons is great too).
Where would you place FOB that recently came out?
I honestly think that Beat Saber is more fun with mods.
Show me one single person who would say otherwise lol. Without mods this game would be pretty dead ^^
@@Min3styl3r I have no idea how most quest players can play the same 37 songs over and over
So far I have bought the LP, ID, FOB, and GD packs.
Imagine dragons was first one I bought. Also probably most familiar music
