I love all of Floor's vocal choices, no matter what kind of song she is singing. Floor approaches ever word with the intent of maximizing it to tell the story. She does not believe in boxing her voice, she takes from every or any genre to tell the story. She is constantly training her voice and massages the lyrics or sounds for best impact of the song. Whenever I hear her singing low or soft, she sounds just as good as when she is hitting the highs, but gosh I love those belts. She can go full opera or full metal, she can switch from one to the other in the same word, and somehow make it all sound right and beautiful.

I love to hear your reaction on Floor was singing our national anthem for the start of the Dutch grand Prix. I am normally not a big fan of our national anthem a song of 500 years ago, but I love the interpretation by Floor

Try Our decades in the sun from Nightwish and sung by Floor in Amsterdam with the band from Beste Zangers as you know them. Handkerchief at hand in case! Greetings from Holland.
Extra good idea becaue there is not a life version of Our decades in the sun by Nightwish. Not because of the quallity of the song but because of the emotions by performing it, the subject is close to all the members. Although Nightwish in tears life that would be something we could cry along.
Oh yes, please. I fully concur! This Nightwish song is so beautiful, yet shamefully neglected by most reactors because ...... Nightwish never performed it live (and probably never will). Perhaps doing Floor's Amsterdam live version and Nightwish's original album version in one go? Not to be too 'spoilery' but it might be a good idea to have some tissues at the ready.

I saw somewhere that her huysband Hannes shot this video in their private shed studio and it had to be done many times, because Floor could not keep her face straight (laughing kicks). I love that happiness and simplicity.
With this song for the first time Floor let me think of other singers like Julie London, Diana Krall.
Great reaction. You can just feel the love you have for Floor's voice. At 8:16 you mention the contrast between the big Nightwish performances and the intimacy of this song. Made me think that back in the day, when she was on the big stage with either After Forever or ReVamp, Floor would always take the opportunity to do this sort of an intimate and very personal song.
With AF at Pinkpop 2004 for instance, she did "Eccentric", a song about being bullied (her experience as a child at school). With ReVamp, she did "I've Lost Myself", a song that couldn't get more personal for Floor.
I don't know, Valerie, if you've seen her perform these songs. I'm convinced that you'll love them both. So here goes:
