When Roger Moore began as 007 I was just a year old, and his run ended when I turned 13. So he was my Bond. My father grew up with Sean Connery. Timothy Dalton was excellent as Bond as well, and although Moore played Bond as more cavalier and with more humorI enjoyed his Bond films the best. These were the Cold War-era days both in film and real life. R.I.P. Sir Roger Moore. Thank you for filling this young spy's life with the love of espionage stories.
Not really. Flirting can't be deemed sexual harassment. He didn't make any sexual comments nor did he touch or grope, which is what a lot of weirdos do (and worse) to get tried for sexual harassment. As cringe-worthy as these grandpa Bond flirting with 20 year old women scenes are, they are nothing like what men get up to to end up in court.
In my country, it depends if it is sexual harassment or not. When someone who flirts with a woman is a handsome or wealthy, or macho, that is flirting. When someone who flirts with a woman is a fat-ass nerd or a hopeless old man, that's sexual harassment here.
@@justbeingplasma8681 I always played it safe and let the woman hit up on me. Yet sadly that's becoming a thing of the past due to the Femi-N*zism that goes on and most of the ladies that flirted with me in the past are now in their upper 50s and early 60s.
The Fabergé egg that 007 was talking about is the Imperial Coronation egg, designed by Peter Carl Fabergé in 1897, to commemorate the 1896 Coronation of Czar Nicholas II. However the real egg is yellow in color & the model of the Coronation Coach is bigger, than the one that is shown in this scene & it comes out.
@@AD-kv9kj Yes I know, but there's often been debate among fans whether Robert Brown continued Sir Miles Messervy as M which Bernard Lee portrayed or if it's Admiral Hargreaves from The Spy Who Loved Me replacing Sir Miles as the new M. I'm not really sure what to think anymore personally.
For all intents and purposes, I consider Bernard Lee’s M and Robert Brown’s M to be one and the same - kind of like how there of been other actors that are portrayed 007, Moneypenney, and Tanner. I would include Q in that, but it’s clear that Desmond Llewelyn‘s version was unique and more or less in line with Boothroyd in the Fleming books, John Cleese‘s was his groomed successor, and Ben Whishaw‘s version is something very new to reflect the evolving kind of threats James Bond would need to combat.
Not to mention that it’s a rare case in the films that 007 is replacing a fellow 00 agent. Usually, M would threaten to replace 007 with a fellow 00 agent (namely 008) if Bond didn’t act a bit more professionally. It is admittedly somber because one of their own section just went down, and they need the best (007) to see whatever this is through.
That first part is home to one of the most famous 007 outtakes in series history. During the first take, Maxwell accidentally introduces her new assistant as "Penelope Smallbush". Immediately afterwards, Roger Moore says "My God, Moneypenny! I know where you're mind's at!"
Yeah, Roger brought a bit of irony and humour into James Bond, I grew up with those films. Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton, that's the order I liked, can't accept anyone other than Bernard Lee as M.
I never liked Pierce Brosnan. On paper you would think he would be great. Yet I found him to lack charm and his movies were not enjoyable. I can't put my finger on it maybe the period he played Bond lacked Geopolitical tension. Or maybe I just plain don't like the guy. 1.Connery 2.Moore 3.Craig 4.Dalton 5.Brosnan (tie) 5.Lazenby (tie)
At the beginning of “Live and Let Die” Moore says “I rather liked Baines, we shared the same boot maker” he does it to annoy M the way the Scarlet Pimpernel pretends to be an idiot.
"Octopussy" was the first Bond film with Robert Brown (the RN Admiral from "The Spy Who Loved Me") in the role of M, as Bernard Lee passed while "For Your Eyes Only" was being filmed and the M role not being recast out of respect for the actor.
Miss Penelope Smallbone looks much nicer than a lot of today's scruffy looking women. I would be very pleased to take a lady out that looks as elegant and smartly dressed as she does.
Gay jokes abound. The woman sigh as he leaves; M continues this with "Ah" as he greets 007. There is no mistaking the suggestive offer when this guy says "bump up."

I miss Bond just walking in and getting a mission. Not gone rogue, not “this time it’s personal”, just a mission.
That "Property of a Lady" line is pure Roger Moore.
No other actor could deliver that line like him.
And there’s respect in that line. “We do have one lead, sir.” And the lead is there because of 009’s sacrifice.
Rip sir Roger Moore , best Bond

Moore was the fun witty Bond. Connery and Dalton were more serious type Bonds.
@@Jantv81 yes , exactly ..
Sean Connery will always be the original Bond but Rodger Moore's films made more money then any other for the franchise...
Barry's music is boss. What a talent he was!
The first minute of this clip = about 25 sexual harassment lawsuits in 2019.

A great scene from a superb movie!
R.I.P Sir Roger Moore. Nobody does it better.
We miss you 007 the one and only.
Grow up with Roger Moore, nobody was as smooth as him!
Rest in peace Sir Roger Moore
Classic James bond

Indeed it was. But also, that egg is the property of the Russia, not England, and stealing or forgering one of those eggs is against the law.
@@user-sf7je7zi4t does the egg still exist today?
@@199019852007 Indeed. It's still lies within the Moscow state museum.
@@user-sf7je7zi4t Did you even watch the film though? at least know the plot first.
One of my favorite scenes from favorite film. Roger Moore is still my favorite 007. Mission briefing scenes were the most interesting!
I watched The Saint tv show as a kid. These older Bond movies were interesting to watch and Moore is very polite and charming. .
M: Ah, good morning, 007.
BOND: Morning, Admiral Hargre-- Oops, I mean M.
M was Admiral Sir Miles Messervy.

Very lighthearted and then M mentions 009’s death then it becomes serious
I always thought Lois Maxwell (moneypenny) and Roger Moore look very much like each other and they were also both born in the same year.
Fact, they were classmates
aww lol
RADA...?
Lois Maxwell is Roger Moore in drag.
matchbox555 they were classmates in Drama School at Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1944
love the Faberge connection ; operation trove ..
I agree. I always liked that aftershave,
I love the subtext between M and Fanning that suggest M thinks Fanning waffles on too much or something along those lines
It's amusing to see Bond mistake Miss Penelope Smallbone for Miss Moneypenny.
Bond was just joking. He didn't really think she was Moneypenny.
hyun ahn notice how miss smallbone does the famous sigh after Bond drops his lines to her. classic Roger Moore
superb .. RIP Sir Roger ..;))
"In nauseating detail" 😆
M: thank you fanning ( = stop waffling on)
Fanning: not at all ( = I'll waffle on as much as I bloody want)
Ah, Douglas Wilmer, always one of my favourites from the second and third row.
