A game at any neighborhood court or at any gym is more truthful to the game than any NBA game now. The Olympics were amazing because the rules reflected basketball in a better way
well when fans are constantly discrediting players and saying "lets see them do it in the playoffs"/"cant get out of the second round"/"always injured" over and over, its not shocking that players stop caring as much.
@@BigVideoStorageGood point. That sort of sentiment is understandable from a player's perspective; however, if the player's don't make an effort to be competitive during the regular season, the game will be less entertaining and less profitable, and that will eventually trickle down and hurt the player's pockets. So it's still in their best interest to "care" about the regular season (despite whatever stupid things fans may say).

Get rid of the freedom of movement rules and allow a return of handchecking. Defense will be allowed to become a lot more physical and playing on the perimeter won’t be as easy
Make 100 million dollars, play 50-75% of games, don't bother playing defense, driving to the rim, or playing physical in the post, just dribble down the court and shoot a three...welcome to the modern NBA, just a blatant extortion scheme.
Put the 3 point line back to its original spot and bring back hand checking and call traveling and call a foul when offensive players just push off with there off hand that will make the game more balanced
they already shooting from half court your changes will amount to nothing more than more three taken so people can swag on down the court bragging they hit threes from the new distance
3:11 terrible take This is the reason why people are not watching ESPN, because they can watch the game and see that players are playing terrible, like shooting a horrible amount of threes and missing them. But this analyst's first response is, yeah, if you're making the threes, keep shooting them. It's like they're not making the threes, hence why people are not enjoying watching people shoot threes the whole game. It's like watching somebody take terrible shots, but they make them sometimes, so it's like, hey, he make them sometimes. No, it's still terrible. When he don't make them, it's really horrible.
I agree. This is what happens when anyone can now become an analyst. People who defend this style of play act as if they all can shoot like Steph Curry or Damian Lillard.
Too much of any one type of shot gets boring - I like to see 3's, dunks, mid-range shots, hook shots (which hardly any players use anymore), floaters, finger roll layups, etc. As the old saying goes "Variety is the spice of life".
It's not that. I like the step back 3s from 30' with 2 defenders draped on a guy. It's that that's all way see now. There's no variety. What I want: * Dominant centers beasting down low, Like Shaq, Tim Duncan, Hakeem, etc. * Attackers of the rim, like MJ and Kobe, doing their midair artistry and going to the fifth move in their bag of tricks to defeat any defense put in front of them * Shooting assassins, like Steph, Ray Allen and Klay Thompson * Midrange assassins, like MJ, Kawhi and KD What I don't want to see: * the "gather step" - aka - traveling is no longer called * zero physicality - aka - don't even LOOK at Luka or LeBron, or we're going to call you for a foul * 7'4" guys running to the 3 point line on a 3 on 1 fast break * load management - that needs to die a slow death The game is too easy today. Guys like Luka don't need help. If players are so much better, why make the game easier for them? I don't want to go back to goon ball/Bad Boy Pistons days. But let's get rid of the gather step, start calling traveling again and add back handchecking. I think just those three changes will make the game more watchable.
@@hinjurock70 Dude, I posted what I did, then read your post. EXACTLY. Too much of any one thing is bad. Imagine if the game was nothing but dudes getting posterized. At first, it would seem awesome. After a while, however, it's not longer special, since it's happening on every play. Imagine if every hit in baseball was a home run. It would be terrible. Everything being a 3 is just terrible, especially when you combine it with all of the rules changes to make it impossible for defenders to do their job.
GSW ruined the league since 2015 and now people realized… a center that doesn’t look like they used to be back in the 80’s and 90’s. Lack of defense tactics…
In the late 90s, defense was at its peak. I remember watching playoffs games during that period and the final scores being frequently low. I'd rather go back to that style of play, because every bucket felt more valuable. When scoring is so easy, the value of the points decreases.
No it wasn't only a few players had real skill to score the ball 85 to 80 final score is a full lack of talent shooting guards couldn't shoot centers didnt leave the paint power fowards of old were big slow with no skill outside of a few
You can ask yourself, what would it be like watching an NFL team launching an 80 yard pass from their own 20 on every single play. Maybe analytics tell them that every once and awhile, you'll get a pass interference call or an actual catch for 80 yards. It'll be fun to watch at first but when every single team is doing it, in every single game, on every single down, it eventually becomes unwatchable. That's what the 3-point shot in the NBA has become.
The regular season is borderline unwatchable, and completely boring. Here’s the high pick to get the shooter open, or he penetrates, goes straight to the rim, or passes to a shooter. The NBA needs to fix this, as they move into the new era of big TV contracts. It would be embarrassing for nobody to watch the games after the huge deals they just made (R.I.P., TNT). And players aren’t better shooters than they used to be-percentages are only up about 1.5% for threes. Move the line out to 32 feet. This will make the big man relevant again, and suddenly teams will run actual plays, and use actions to free up all kinds of shots.
@@RaineriHakkarainenBird even said he didn't practice 3pt shooting. He thought it was a bad shot and would only take a few of them occasionally. And that's coming from a dude who was a gifted shooter.
The late 80s and early 90s had a great balance of offense and defense rulings. From 2005 to 2016, the NBA had great balance in offense vs defense rulings. Though, flopping in the 2010s as a whole was getting out of control (Miami Heat 2010-2014). However, the real unbalanced polarity point came after 2016 when guys like Harden started getting away with illegal moves that the NBA shifted completely one way, it became heavily pro-offense. We need to adjust the rules to bring back competitive and fair offense vs defense rulings. The modern day offensive player just has too much power now because of the rules and officiating.
You know why ratings are down because national media thinks "Keeping up with James" is a better watch than match-ups like kings vs nuggets. I mean if you have watched the kings vs nuggets today you witnessed one hell of match but media don't want to show that because these are low market teams. Jokic vs Sabonis has to be broadcasted by national media that's a battle everyone wants to watch regardless of the team they support. If NBA was in Europe they would have hyped this match for whole week but in US they want drama and stardom more than basketball.
Thank you. The media focused so much on King James and a few other superstar players. I don't even watch the post games anymore because the sports commentators would be talking about LeBron. It's the media's fault for not talking more about the emerging players/stars. No everyone is a fan of Lebron (me included). Some of us get very tired of Lebron, and now we have to deal with his son? my god.
Unfortunately the NBA will always cater to the casual fan because there’s more of them versus hardcore fans. Casual fans don’t have team allegiance but rather player allegiance. The league has new stars but none of them are mega stars. LeBron KD and Curry are still the faces of the NBA because the new generation hasn’t been able to replace them. That’s why they aren’t talking about a kings vs nuggets matchup because it isn’t exciting enough for the casual audience.
as a hardcore NBA fan, there was a time where I could watch any and every game didn't even matter who was playing, but over the last couple seasons it's been hard to watch, too many 3's and the defenders are being handicapped, the NBA needs to modify the landing space rule, the defenders having to fly by or across the shooters face on closeouts aren't a TURE contest, i mean I get it the NBA wants to protect the players landing but they took it too far, it wasn't a problem for decades, and 1 guy does it on purpose and he completely changed the league, and the ironic thing about it is that the GSW outside of analytics are responsible for the abundance of 3's being shot in the NBA and a GSW is responsible for the defenders lack of ability to challenge that same shot smh
That’s why I started watching a lot more football than the NBA games. The league shoot too many 3s. It’s turned into a 3point contest. They pull up at the 3 point line on a fast break. In my era my coach would cut you from the team if you did that
Bringing the 90's rules back will result in more 3's. Many of the rules that was "Removed" actually makes it harder to drive to the basket or scoring in the post because of how physical it'll be.
The problem is not lack of defense or physicality, its not the ref's calling too many fouls, the problem is majority of teams play the same exact way and it is boring to watch , teams used to have staples of how they play, I.E 7 seconds or less suns, grit and grind grizzlies, etc now everybody has the same strategy for the most part, high p&r with a spread floor to put pressure on the rim, force help/rotations, pitch to shooters
Yes! Yes they do have a three point problem!! It’s making the game unwatchable, and I’m a lifelong fan! 75% of possessions is the team hunting for open 3’s, and forcing up 3’s, no thanks. I say just make every basket worth 3 at this point! Maybe that will make people go to the paint more often!
People always forget that the NBA is entertainment. 7’4 Wemby and athletic freak Ant Man taking 50% of their shots at the 3 is not entertaining. Take a lesson from MLB. Outlaw the shift. Or move the 3 point line, in this case.
Also, most teams are playing the exact same way. That makes for boring basketball. It's far more interesting to see teams and players play their own unique style of basketball
There's quite literally more dunks and dunk attempts per game than there were in the 90s. Assists per game have been stable for decades, so have blocks. Ya'll be making up problems in your head.
it has a huge 3pt problem. suggestions. 1. limit number of 3s per quarter, I'd go with a max of 3 x 3s per quarter, 12 per game. 2. simply remove it. would be my pick. 3. move it further out, to say to 25 feet, taking away the corner 3 spot. perhaps a combo of 1 & 3?
Just push back the 3 point line even further. No more corner 3. Make it that so majority of the league not able to make 3s. Make it that it's not rewarding to take those shots.
Viewership is down not because of 3s, its because its hard to watch the every game, unless you subscribe to multiple platforms thats why people go to streaming and media doesnt wanna point that out
This is exactly what the issue is and I don’t understand nobody is really talking about this. If the nfl did this it’d be a similar issue . Nobody is trying to have a gagillion subscriptions to watch 1 product
@@JJmcwill87 I have no clue why people ignore this the most. Average show that is on premium cable is having a decline in viewership. The only sport that doesnt have this issue is the NFL because 80% of their games are free watch. Every other sport has this issue except them. If the NBA was on ABC, FOX, NBC, etc... the viewership would be fine. This is evident because basketball still trend number 1 on social media even without being on prime time
@@DPI41 You don't think a billion dollar corporation takes that into account when considering its ratings? Clearly, there is an issue. Silver didn't deny the decline, he just blamed it on the World Series and election.
The rare comment in a sea of 'doom and gloom' nutters that actually makes sense. Growing up, I could watch the mavs games on basic tv. A couple of years ago, I could ONLY watch the mavs on bally sports...which was then part of an expensive cable package that I don't own. I am a big nba fan, and my example is the same for many I'm sure...which isn't pointed out enough. I think now they air SOME mavs games on local tv, but ONLY because bally sports doesn't exist anymore. The point is that your typical fan isn't going to keep jumping through all of these annoying hoops to watch these games.
You must have missed the thousands of posts and comments from people saying they dont want the nba anymore because they dont want to watch 3 point shootouts
Nope, they would just practice from longer range. 3 points is more than 2 points. Its simple math. Why would i practice a post move that would take me 10-15 seconds to execute when i can chuck up a 3 point shot and get more points in lesser time.
i agree with Windy. basketball should be much more balanced with paint points driven game minus the crazy calls trying to defend shots. hands straight up still get called if ahooter leans in..🏀🏀
For me what really changed my love for the nba was the flopping and the fact that guys would flail to the floor rather then fight for a lose ball. The nba then would repeatedly reward this shamless strategy. Thankfully they seem to be trying to fix it but the damage has been done and players still do it all the time. Eradicating flopping will take a long time. Toughness, strength, and physicality used to be skills just like shooting a three is a skill but the nba took it away
The 3 isn't the issue. The issue is the officiating and the ignoring of basic basketball fundamentals, traveling, carrying, and all. If you want to reduce the 3 pointer, make immediately shooting after an on ball screen illegal.
David Stern was great at evolving the game with rule changes (or defensive 3 seconds, hand checking etc). Adam Silver seems to refuse to change anything to keep the league balanced and entertaining. Moving the 3pt line back at least 2 feet is obviously needed to balance the game. Get it done because your ratings will continue to tank as that new TV contract deal will demand changes from NBC, ABC, etc to get the ratings up.
Trends come and go, but think there’s a difference this time around. Trends in the past have come from what seems to work and be most effective at the time. But now analytics have come in and shown a definitive, most effective way to play the game and thus does not rely on trends. It tells teams that shooting a lot of 3s is more effective than playing inside. It’s similar to what’s going on in the MLB where every hittter is swinging for the fences and every pitcher is throwing 95-100. Both games suffer for it in my opinion, but Pandora’s Box has been opened and there’s no going back.
Simple solution…limit the number of 3’s a team can attempt in a game. If they go over the limit, each made basket from beyond the 3 point line is worth only 1 point. That will force teams to be strategic with their 3 point attempts and bring back balance of the inside and midrange game.
The nba currently has bad coaching, bad Commissioner and players having too much freedom cause they have a guaranteed contract. It's not a 3 pointer problem it's a talking point to avoid responsibility
I don't think the teams compeat hard enough players on opposite teams on court talking and laughing with each other like on the playground like winning or loosing don't matter 😮
They didn't make the game more physical because of the 3 point shooting 😂 it was because you weren't allowed to play defence. 3 point shooting is just the easy thing to blame. Viewership and the game being down is primarily due to the officiating. From inconsistency of calls, soft technicals, refs facilitating fake comebacks getting blown out teams back in the game 2nd half, enabling free throw merchants etc.
You guys ever think ratings might be down because the landscape of entertainment has changed? You have essentially an unlimited array of entertainment choices to compete with, not to mention options to watch illegally on a much wider scale. Has anyone done a relative comparison of NBA viewership decline against the other sports leagues? Against mainstream television shows? Not saying that's the answer, but it might get you closer having that info.
It’s not just the 3point, travels are not being called. And recently so many evidence have pointed out that LeBron’s assists awards are ridiculous for how he still gets them, him passing the ball to someone whom dribbles for 7-8 steps shouldn’t be an assist.
The NBA caused this. They allowed Steph and James Harden to get away with traveling to step back into threes and now everybody does it. Literally makes it impossible to defend. Players are literally catching the ball and then taking two steps without a dribble and calling it a "gather step".
That's why I loved the "Jordan Era" of basketball. Real defense and player shooting was good but not overly good like it is now. The NBA needs to move the 3 point line back... Hell, lets not stop there...redo the courts making them wider so the three point arc is even on all sides, taking away the short 3.
The first game i watched all season was that OKC vs HOU tournament game, the amount of open/easy layups that were passed up for 3pt artempts (not even makes) was mind boggling, thats probably going to be my only game for this season if im being honest.
276 total points scored; 144 were 3 pointers... That is 52% of points coming from beyond the arc I've watched the NBA for decades, I haven't watched more than a handful of games over the past couple of years If the style of play doesn't change soon it'll kill the game for most fans
Dude this was a wildly entertaining game. The defense was great, the shot making was better. What’s the point in complaining when teams miss shots AND when they make shots
that's true. But I think it's also just the attention span. I get all of my stats on ESPN and on youtube. I don't bother to watch the full games. It's been a while since I have. I also think gambling is a problem. People don't root for teams. They root for betting outcomes and parlays. no need to watch the games to figure out whether you won or not.

Not anymore. You certainly haven't been watching the past 4 years. It's the same, but the players are younger and easier to excuse. This video was made directly after the GS and Mavs game where they broke 3pt records and no one liked it. If it was about the Celtics, they would have addressed this way earlier
Prime GSW would have a few off shooting nights but for the most part they were entertaining night in, night out. Boston just goes for broke, and either they light it up and go 25-50, or stink it up and go 10-50. They are so loaded with talent that they can win that game that they go 10-50 anyways, and then blow you out when they are hitting their shots. At the end of the day it works for them even if it makes some of the games hard to watch. However, other teams that aren't loaded with talent are trying to implement a similar philosophy and it makes for terrible basketball.
The easiest fix is to allow only one 3pt attempt per possession in the 1-3 quarters. This stops the "temp check" bad threes, it forces players to incorporate mid range shots, and it prioritizes the "best" 3pt shooter to take the shot- like in the past. Remove this restriction in the 4th qtr so a team can shoot themselves back into a game if needed.
The 3 point was sexy because Steph and Harden were making it. Why is Bam Adebayor taking 3s?? This 3 point barrage is the ONLY reason why we don’t have peace in the middle east. Fix it!!
@MrKeysjimmy I would prefer my center to shoot 54% from the field (Bam Adebayo's career field goal percentage) than 44% from the field (Bam's field goal percentage this year) while jacking up ill-advised 3s.
everybody else on here talking about moving the three point line back... but they still gonnna take threes they already shooting from half court so the line moved back just going to make it more swag to shoot from there. but first time i heard dunking should be worth three points. nice.
SlamBall had this right for decades. Embrace the 3-point dunk. You'd never hear a serious sports conversation go off on those like "We have an overabundance of thunderous dunks and it's ruining the sport" lol
As interesting as that would be I’d have to disagree. Mainly because Flagrant fouls and injuries would happen more often. Folks would just grab and hack whoever jumps in the paint. We’d see countless Blake or Barea type fouls, tempting more guys to shoot anyway.
Limit 3pointers to 8 attempts per quarter except for the fouth. After the 8th attempt, the three pointers will be 2 points. It will force the players to value three point attempts more, instead of chucking them just because they can. Coaches will have to be more versatile with their offensive schemes and defensive strategies.
Its pretty easy to fix the NBA. 1. Handchecking 2. Call travels (step back) 3. Call travels (eurostep) 4. Call travels (whatever you call this new slow-motion two step thing).
@mmldr9306 you cant just not pay ur superstar because you think its too much money. That superstar would just leave and sign an insane contract with someone else

@@butchbutiu It's more difficult to dunk than hit a 3? Honestly, Department of Education needs to come into these threads and see exactly what needs to be addressed in schools.
I agree. The 3 point shot taken a large percentage of each teams shots. The problem it creates is that the normal team play and passing the ball with great plays has pretty much disappeared and it it one on one game, not a team game. It is boring to watch today for me and I have stopped watching the NBA games.
yeah that's what I saw. That should not have been called a foul. He blatantly jumped into the defender. Luka always does that. I know other players do but it's so obvious when he does it.
The players are too friendly. No rivalries. No trash talk. No banging inside. No defense. If both teams are missing threes it’s far worse. Wemby out there shooting so many threes is ludicrous.
Adam Silver has ruined the NBA. I prefer old school NBA to what we have now: Load management, too many games with back to backs, 3 point shots are borong, no defense, traveling is never called, terrible officiating. This list could go on and on. I've already stopped watching.
I hope everyone would read this comment. The problem is bad shooting teams are chucking threes to try and KEEP UP with teams like the Celtics, and it’s killing the game. The Celtics take almost always good threes and those bad teams (look at the pistons WED 12/11 3pt%) take contested threes to try to answer back, and it’s failing them. The Grizzlies beat the Celtics by taking GOOD THREES and taking good shots in the paint too. It’s not complicated. If you can’t shoot threes, don’t. If you can, do it as much as you can before it’s jacking threes.
Celtics? They just had a game recently where they kissed 42 three’s. They aren’t all that. Too many guys who aren’t shooters who just chuck up 3’s when they could drive fur an easy bucket. NBA is getting bad ratings and it’s due to players just aren’t that good
I think the best thing for the NBA to do is get rid of three in the key to give the bigs a chance to play it and show off their abilities again because the the NBA is out of balance
@@Richard-v3u8o Honestly with the shots they were getting, it wasnt even that. Theres too much ground to cover to guard the 3 when the team actually keeps passing. Its way closer and getting rid of it will stop half of this nonsense at least

It's nerds like him and the fake cool guys that are running everything into the ground .. cornballs in control
It's very simple. Seeing dunks and players dunking on eachother is more entertaining then step back 3's all day. ITS NOT ENTERTAINING
Yet ya cry when players do it often, sighting Derrick rose. Smh this complain culture is out of hand.
If you look at statistics, number of post plays, dunks, etc didn’t change much. What changed is contested 2s became 3s
What I want:
* Dominant centers beasting down low, Like Shaq, Tim Duncan, Hakeem, etc.
* Attackers of the rim, like MJ and Kobe, doing their midair artistry and going to the fifth move in their bag of tricks to defeat any defense put in front of them
* Shooting assassins, like Steph, Ray Allen and Klay Thompson
* Midrange assassins, like MJ, Kawhi and KD
What I don't want to see:
* the "gather step" - aka - traveling is no longer called
* zero physicality - aka - don't even LOOK at Luka or LeBron, or we're going to call you for a foul
* 7'4" guys running to the 3 point line on a 3 on 1 fast break
* load management - that needs to die a slow death
The game is too easy today. Guys like Luka don't need help. If players are so much better, why make the game easier for them? I don't want to go back to goon ball/Bad Boy Pistons days. But let's get rid of the gather step, start calling traveling again and add back handchecking. I think just those three changes will make the game more watchable.

In the late 90s, defense was at its peak. I remember watching playoffs games during that period and the final scores being frequently low. I'd rather go back to that style of play, because every bucket felt more valuable. When scoring is so easy, the value of the points decreases.

The NBA is racist! They don't like us whites shining. We're oppressed!

Easy fix- remove the 3-point line.
The 3 isn't the issue. The issue is the officiating and the ignoring of basic basketball fundamentals, traveling, carrying, and all.
If you want to reduce the 3 pointer, make immediately shooting after an on ball screen illegal.

@ that’s so anti 3 or midrange jump shooting. That’s so immediate stupid.
Na 3s are the problem
David Stern was great at evolving the game with rule changes (or defensive 3 seconds, hand checking etc). Adam Silver seems to refuse to change anything to keep the league balanced and entertaining.
Moving the 3pt line back at least 2 feet is obviously needed to balance the game. Get it done because your ratings will continue to tank as that new TV contract deal will demand changes from NBC, ABC, etc to get the ratings up.
This is a "trend" that's been around for about a decade. An in-game three point shooting contest is just the way the league is nowadays.
Equals = boring. The defense is trash
Scores in the 70s at halftime is a bit rediculous
That's because most of these dudes don't want to play defense. They're afraid of being embarrassed and hurting their brand
Whenever Dallas starts doing something well it becomes a problem. Same thing with Luka’s 73
Yep
I don't think the teams compeat hard enough players on opposite teams on court talking and laughing with each other like on the playground like winning or loosing don't matter 😮
They didn't make the game more physical because of the 3 point shooting 😂 it was because you weren't allowed to play defence. 3 point shooting is just the easy thing to blame. Viewership and the game being down is primarily due to the officiating. From inconsistency of calls, soft technicals, refs facilitating fake comebacks getting blown out teams back in the game 2nd half, enabling free throw merchants etc.
Exactly. And who’s the boss of those refs? Until Adam Silver is replaced the NBA will continue to be trash.
It's not just the refs...the 3s are a problem. Boston takes 60 3s on 30%. That's 60points right there.
@nba this why you views are down
You guys ever think ratings might be down because the landscape of entertainment has changed? You have essentially an unlimited array of entertainment choices to compete with, not to mention options to watch illegally on a much wider scale. Has anyone done a relative comparison of NBA viewership decline against the other sports leagues? Against mainstream television shows? Not saying that's the answer, but it might get you closer having that info.
@dochudson9393 sure maby but when alot of the die hard fans literally say they stop watching because nba games are glorified 3pt contests
It’s not just the 3point, travels are not being called. And recently so many evidence have pointed out that LeBron’s assists awards are ridiculous for how he still gets them, him passing the ball to someone whom dribbles for 7-8 steps shouldn’t be an assist.

It is easy to change it..put a cap on the amount of 3s a team can possibly take in a game..simple!
The NBA caused this. They allowed Steph and James Harden to get away with traveling to step back into threes and now everybody does it. Literally makes it impossible to defend. Players are literally catching the ball and then taking two steps without a dribble and calling it a "gather step".
This is how you fix it NBA - everything counts as 3 points now.

That's why I loved the "Jordan Era" of basketball. Real defense and player shooting was good but not overly good like it is now. The NBA needs to move the 3 point line back... The NBA would be vastly more entertaining if they removed the 3 completely, or limited the number a team can score per game.
The first game i watched all season was that OKC vs HOU tournament game, the amount of open/easy layups that were passed up for 3pt artempts (not even makes) was mind boggling, thats probably going to be my only game for this season if im being honest.

Hand checking won’t do anything
That first idea is honestly pretty good. A corner 3 is only about 22ft. Seems a little ridiculous now that everyone can shoot that
I’ve fallen asleep on games. Just jog up the court shoot a three, don’t get back on defense, and other team does the exact same thing.
Let's try erasing the 3 point line again. So no more 3 points. It might be fun to watch
If Celtics hadn't won a title doing this it wouldn't even be a thing. If it was GS it'd be the most beautiful game ever
This is truly spot on! Its the Celtics winning the chip broke the whole haters in rage and saying "tHe nBa bEcAmE bOrInG" nonsense
@@duplexarcoGsw wasn’t just shooting 3s and definitely not as many as the Cs who if I’m not mistaken on have like one guy shooting 40% from 3… Ppl just didn’t care last year and it wasn’t a the Mavs fault for not making it competitive and Cs fault for not having a true Alpha on their team that ppl can champion
@@SekeU85 Celtics have some of the best slashers and finishers in the league. You just don’t watch Boston so you don’t see things like Derek White postering Bam Adebayo twice in a row in the close out game against Miami
That’s gotta hurt as a dubs fan watching Klay light it up
@Jojo7250_0 Warriors fans are busy laughing at Poole
@ lmaoooo facts
Warriors fans are just a bunch of Fairweather fans who started watching just recently. They will leave once this Era is over.
The 3 point was sexy because Steph and Harden were making it. Why is Bam Adebayor taking 3s??
This 3 point barrage is the ONLY reason why we don’t have peace in the middle east. Fix it!!
I mean maybe it's because he shoots it better than kobe and mj did....
@@MrKeysjimmymj and kobe weren't the best 3 point shooters in there era......steph curry dad dell curry was a 3point specialist....
@eddiecampbell9663 yeh they were less than league average even in their day. Del was a gun, think he was over 40% for more than half his career aye
@MrKeysjimmy I would prefer my center to shoot 54% from the field (Bam Adebayo's career field goal percentage) than 44% from the field (Bam's field goal percentage this year) while jacking up ill-advised 3s.
I’m watching college basketball all day long over an NBA. There’s still post moves, midrange shooting, etc. Still reminds me of 90s ball
How funny this media when the warriors made a dynasty doing so many 3s, but when other teams try to do the same thing, they're being negative now.
They had the two best shooters ever in the backcourt together, a little different.
Its almost like only one team was doing it
Dunking on someone should also be 3 points. I mean...dunking on someone is more dangerous than shooting the 3. Reward the athlete for doing it.
Yes
true!
everybody else on here talking about moving the three point line back... but they still gonnna take threes they already shooting from half court so the line moved back just going to make it more swag to shoot from there. but first time i heard dunking should be worth three points.
1. Handchecking
2. Call travels (step back)
3. Call travels (eurostep)
4. Call travels (whatever you call this new slow-motion two step thing).
Do you mean Euro steps that are travels or all Euro Steps?
Eliminate the 3 point line! I've been saying it for years now. And pay the players less. There is no need for players to be paid 50 mil per season.
@@mmldr9306how is cutting their salaries gonna make the game better? Your pocket watching jealousy has nothing to do with the product on the court
Euro isnt a travel even in old basketball its literally 2 steps
@mmldr9306 you cant just not pay ur superstar because you think its too much money. That superstar would just leave and sign an insane contract with someone else
Count a dunk for 3 pts. It is more difficult toake a dunk than just throw the ball from beyond the arc.
Not gonna lie fam I like this idea. Make players more aggressive & bring back the hype to dunks
Yeah sometimes they tke wide open 3 than a dunk in Fast break 😅
Nahh it’s a big f you to people that can’t really dunk like that. Also cause so many more injury’s with players trying to get three by dunking and landing wrong
@@butchbutiu It's more difficult to dunk than hit a 3? Honestly, Department of Education needs to come into these threads and see exactly what needs to be addressed in schools.
@@dochudson9393everybody can’t dunk. Everyone can shoot 3’s
Simple solutions to promote interior play: 1) move the 3-point line back and 2) remove the 3 second penalty for big men in the paint.
The only way to change this or slow it down is to open the dimensions of the court and make it larger. Push the three points line back further
I do think that could help maybe, but then what if they just start jacking shots from that deep lol it’ll be more unwatchable then now
Yep, its the classic "threes are bad" and "back in my day" take. This is the most ESPN take Ive ever heard.
I agree. The 3 point shot taken a large percentage of each teams shots. The problem it creates is that the normal team play and passing the ball with great plays has pretty much disappeared and it it one on one game, not a team game. It is boring to watch today for me and I have stopped watching the NBA games.
1:01 from the new rulles that should've been a offensive foul or no call...
yeah that's what I saw.
@charlesmabrie just like Barkley and Jordan golfing when they played against 1another.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Adam Silver has ruined the NBA.
C's fan: Preach!
Celtics? They just had a game recently where they kissed 42 three’s. They aren’t all that. Too many guys who aren’t shooters who just chuck up 3’s when they could drive fur an easy bucket. NBA is getting bad ratings and it’s due to players just aren’t that good
hey brich, they have probably 4 great shooters and 3-4 good shooters. They aren’t the pistons FFS
All the 3's in this game were quality shots
nah it's lack of defense or the inability to defend because of soft foul baiting
Is this dude zooming in from his childhood bedroom?
😂
That and he looks like the human version of droopy.
😂😂😂
Saw Wemby pull up a one legged 3(bricked it) and I turned the game off. Done with this league.
I think the best thing for the NBA to do is get rid of three in the key to give the bigs a chance to play it and show off their abilities again because the the NBA is out of balance
😂 Yet everyone in the comments is still watching
If guys are making 3s its ok but theres too many trash shooting in todays NBA
Two weeks ago in a Celtic's game there were ONE HUNDRED and FIVE 3-point attempts.
That is insane.
Luka jumps into the defender and gets bailed out with a foul. 50 threes a game. That's why nobody cares anymore about the NBA
Thats because little kids can chuck up a 3 point shot.
Basic skill.
Its a skill. Just Basic
even i would chuck up ridicules' shots like from the end of the driveway
The problem is if they drop the shooting some “STAR” players won’t be stars anymore.
Both teams were just hot from 3. Everyone calm the eff down.
That's what happens when you're not allowed to play defense
@@Richard-v3u8o Honestly with the shots they were getting, it wasnt even that. Theres too much ground to cover to guard the 3 when the team actually keeps passing. People used to talk about closing out being hard, but imagine doing it 3 times every posession? They should get rid of the corner 3. Its way closer and getting rid of it will stop half of this nonsense at least
