She is a true artist in every sense of the word. She helps me to keep going in my life, even though sometimes I don't want to. I think she is is the most underrated musician I have ever listened to. Thank you for your many gifts Patty!
Patty, as many fellow vocalists & songwriters know, one of the truly great songwriters. This song with Patty's emotional delivery and special voice really reaches me deeply. From once playing her first album over and over, I recon I love Patty Griffin.
“Time gets movin from a crawl to a run…” I discovered Patty Griffin years ago, but she continues to be one of my all time favorite voices and lyricists. I always get cold chills. She reminds me what true love is…
She’s my forever fave, and this song will always be significant to me. “tonight I cry for the love that I’ve lost, and the love I’ve never found”…just beautiful. This album is a masterpiece.
Oh Patty...where do you find such profound beauty in this life...to paint a song so lovely...so heartfelt as if I had been stalked by an angel...in my lowest moments to be pulled from the brink..to go forward with a new day but for your voice...to feel when I thought I was numb...."When IT Don't Come Easy"...
How real she is....how what she has inside finds it's way into us...touches everything tender and aching in our lives...the finest woman songwriter of our age. It's me, John, Patty if you come across this.....still love ya girl
Ive been completely besotted with this since the first time I saw it about a year ago- there is something absolutely unique about Patty Griffin. She is in such a state of flow when she sings, straight from the soul 😍
Mesmerising, heartbreakingly beautiful….the song and the girl.Music as art-how to craft and deliver a song…incredible talent and soul! The world just became a sweeter place✌️
I was blessed to see Patty play at the Hatch Shell in Boston, MA - It was an occasion with other acts but she stood out for me as absolute beautiful and soul changing music
Take this song and strip away the music. Now strip away the profoundly lovely voice of Patty’s so that you are just left with the words. Now, let the words spark and reveal the images and the memories of your life. You begin to realize that every time the song repeats it stirs deeper thoughts and memories with new associations. And, your own life flowers and flows into revelations of light and shadow so that new images emerge of this indescribable thing we all call “LIFE.” Now we find that Patty Griffin is not simply a great singer, songwriter and composer…now we find that Patty Griffin is one of the greatest poets of our time!
Patty was singing in the early 80s in my home town. School dances, pubs. Patty and the Executives was the band -- she was the vocal front, along with a few of my high school acquaintances who played drums, guitar, bass and keys. She blew us away then and we knew she was going places. By the early 90s, she was well known in the Boston area. The problem is that some of the best music was not on the radio -- same as now -- you had to go looking for it locally or go to shows to hear people you may not have heard of but who were waiting to be discovered. Not really dissimilar to today, except you can find so much online. We are lucky. Patty is the real deal, and she's created hundreds of incredible songs.
Patty Griffin your ARE the voice of the downtrodden! I really hope you realize how much you have contributed to the voiceless minority! God speed to you!
One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard….love this lady❤
"Tonight I cry for the love that I've lost, and the love I never found"...damn that hits hard today. Straight shot to the tear ducts.

This is one of the greatest love songs ever written. I’m supposed to be stocking soda right now, not hiding in the walk-in holding back tears.
How do you honestly get “ love song” from this
This is the Wonderwall that never drove out to find me and I’m putting myself in as narrator
You’re crying about my life on the road..?
@@wlgj1341 probably by listening to the words and understanding how the whole song is a metaphor for love.

How do you NOT get that this is a love song?
Stunning. She has influenced so many performers, and people don't realize it. I love her rawness ❤
Without a doubt.......
My son is suffering from schizophrenia -- this song speaks to me....

It's hard to find a better songwriter than her. My all-time favorite.
I wrote in the neighborhood of 5 of these: I wouldn’t want anyone else to have rendered them
This entire performance was nothing short of brilliant! Patty is an amazing singer/songwriter.
“Time gets movin from a crawl to a run…”
I discovered Patty Griffin years ago, but she continues to be one of my all time favorite voices and lyricists. I always get cold chills. She reminds me what true love is…
I discovered her years ago too. Lucky me (and you)!
I’m narrating for the one who didn’t “ drive out and find me”..?
Are you that old..? ‘All time ‘is relative, I’m supposing
One of my most ‘seat of the pants’ storylines
I wrote it if you’re wondering
Patty is magnificent; her passion, her voice, her vulnerability... and her band. Uniquely brilliant.
if this was live in 2004, and she was born in 1964, she would be 40 in this performance - what an amazing talent, songwriter, and inspiration!
Wow stunning voice
She’s my forever fave, and this song will always be significant to me. “tonight I cry for the love that I’ve lost, and the love I’ve never found”…just beautiful. This album is a masterpiece.
I've never seen anyone whose voice is as good live - until now. Damn
Love Patty Griffin! Have you ever heard of Carrie Noble's version? She's from the twin cities area. Absolutely beautiful!!!

Saw Patty in Davenport, Iowa, years ago. Four hour drive in pouring rain. Totally worth it!

I wish you had started your singing career way sooner ...
She’s put out her first CD “Living with Ghosts” in 1996 at the age of 22...which is a wonderful acoustic work...she’s been around since 1992 singing
