Darn, no SiriusXM. I have a 2013 Camaro SS with the MyLink system. As of last week it began rebooting by itself every 45 seconds or so. I've done all the typical countermeasures (battery disconnect, leaving door open for 10 minutes, etc.) but it still reboots. So, I'm looking for alternatives. The Octopus sounded promising, but the microphone issue and no SiriusXM are non-starters at that price. But thanks for the demonstration!

Love the video!! I have the kit as well on my 2015 camaro and it has the exact same wires as the ones seen in your oem stereo do you have a video with locations of each individual wires and where they go for those less wire savvy😩😂

So the factory wire harness that plugs into the faceplate is eliminated?
Would love some more info on wiring the reverse camera up! That's my main reasoning for doing this lol. I wanna back up without having to pray first.
Oh I understand 😂😂 I bought a backup camera on Amazon. And ran the wires from the back up camera up to where the radio installs and just plugged it into the correct port. SUPER easy

A couple of questions: Do all the steering wheel buttons function (e.g., phone, source, volume controls)? Have you figured out a way to integrate into the factory microphone (I saw a video from MVI Inc that seems to indicate you can splice into it)? Finally, although there's so SiriusXM built-in, is there a way to add an aftermarket module?

@@nikk666x Well, I just end up using Android Auto and listen to SiriusXM that way. I don't know if I want to spend the extra money to get T-Mobile to sell me a SIM to install in the Digital Octopus DO2 to get native cell data. If I just use the Bluetooth connection and Android Auto I get the menu for all apps that Android Auto supports. If, instead, I turn on my phone's hotspot I can connect the DO2 via wifi and install and use ANY Android apps I want to download directly to the unit. I'm able to watch RUclips, Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, etc.
hey man, ive been looking for camaro zl1's but have been stuck on the 2013 for the rear bumper and already integrated touch screen, would this work with that or would i be better off getting the 2012 and just replacing that? also speaking of the rear bumper, do you know if the 2014/2015's rear bumper can be exchanged for the 2013? because if so i would like to do that so i get rid of the different tails but have newer technology in the car

You never showed the how the final fit looked like with lights on. It leaves an inconspicuous taste that it didn’t fit quite right….

Hey i have serious question - how can factory reset this? I tried from settings, but didnt let me.
So the factory microphone won't work with this unit? And any cars not originally equipped with GPS will need it added?
It came with a GPS antenna. I use CarPlay so I haven’t played with the actual GPS on the radio.
And sadly there is no way to get the factory microphone to work with the radio. I desperately wanted to use it, but the factory microphone has a very unique plug if I remember roght

It has wireless CarPlay, but it can be finicky. I prefer running a dongle for the reliability

What’s the microphone for?
No way to tap into the factory microphone for the radio easily. I didn’t feel confident finding the right wires and tapping into it. Maybe eventually but definitely not during this filming
Is it just for voice commands for like a phone? I'm considering the radio but don't care about voice commands.if it's for some other function I'm not aware of it might sway me from purchase.Also it's been a year how is the radio holding up? Appreciate the time if you get back to the comment.

Take that back , I found all 32 apps not one is the air conditioner. I don’t see a manual on the site for any apps
@@Plashun what the hell. Okay, I’d message the guy directly on instagram. That’s the best way I’ve found to get ahold of him quickly. He should be able to send you an update that you can upload onto the radio. That’s ridiculous that you don’t have AC. I’m sorry about that.

Did you ever get your 7.3 dyno'd after the stage 3 install?
I never did, I’m sorry. But I spoke with KCTurbos, they had a truck with the exact same setup as me and it was 500whp & 1000tq. if I’m being honest I lost my spark for that truck & RUclips all together and it went to the back burner and was a daily basically.
@PowerStoked I can understand that. We are human. I'm looking into doing the exact same setup with a few extra supporting mods. I just bought a 96 engine for the forged steel rods. I currently have pmrs in my truck. This is my first ever engine build let alone going internal. I have all the time I need. If you have any tips or tricks. Let me know please. The engine is gonna be on a stand.
Sounds like you’ve hit the nail on the head as far as going with forged internal, I’d recommend doing the fuel bowl delete. It’s just an extra filter to worry about and a spot that can leak! And with the new turbo, there isn’t a way to route the CCV into it! I highly recommend a catch can to route that too
@PowerStoked I was honestly thinking about the fuel bowl delete. I do live where it gets cold. I was worried about the fuel heater, but I haven't heard of anyone's fuel gelling up here. Most places have a winter mixture too. I was going to go with the irate fuel system, billet intake plenums, and the comp valve springs. Only doing the valve springs because I'll be on the edge of 40 psi I'm assuming.

@@rogersmith4363 Ive heard that the boot time is pretty bad if you don't use your vehicle daily, as well that some people are still having issues with their climate control, their audio, and some people are experiencing connection issues with the radio. if you don't mine me asking, what issues were you encountering with it?
