I have the same kit in my 2011 with a Kenwood head unit. This kit is the best looking in my opinion,
Not the best looking but with an aftermarket head unit it bangs and output is very nice. 👍🏽

I just had a shop install a Kenwood Excelon DMX790S head unit, and they also paired it with an Alpine full license plate frame backup reverse camera kit; definitely, definitely worth it for any 2010 (or 2011-2012) Camaro. The head unit also allows the backup camera to have accessible backup lines, if you’re comfortably with that. Also, this Alpine backup camera lens is adjustable, so it’s not sticking out 90° degrees (causes issues with the lens getting blocked, due to lack of shielding from the elements, rain, etc.).
The Maestro RR interface is what they flashed my ECU with, to retain the steering wheel controls, the original head unit controls and settings for the car itself, and also the ECU and OBD II data log stuff.
I believe Maestro SW is a more universal interface, which they might use for other cars, but the ‘RR’ interface is FOR SURE what you’re going to want (and NEED), in order to retain all of the stock functions, get all of the 13-15 OEM GM MyLink functions, and even some Maestro software goodies from themselves (gauges, etc).

Has anyone had issues with the dash kit itself kind of “shifting”? It’s the dash kit “face”, around the double DIN head unit, that’s been shifting (or “sagging”, whatever to call it) from excessive heat lately.
I can push it back like almost half an inch, but it just shifts back again… I had everything installed by a shop, so I have no idea if the mounting “block” that was cut out in the rear, might have anything to do with my sagging issue right now.
It doesn’t affect any of the buttons on the “face”, but the sagging leaves a solid gap (that can be pulled out even more). Idk what the shop’s gonna do to fix it, since they had like a “5-yr warranty”, and was basically going to honor anything they worked on.
It’s only been half a year or so, but my backup camera has been glitching intermittently; also due to the heat, which idk, if that’s a coincidence too or not. Either way, there’s stuff like a noise filter that I need installed (outside of warranty repairs/fixes), so I’ll probably bring it back to get worked on. Hopefully they figure out a solid, legitimate fix for my stereo system, and check the head unit itself (Kenwood Excelon DMX709S).
At 7:00 if you’re going to cut off that block in the back, you WILL have to zip tie the Maestro to keep it from unplugging.

I know this was almost a year ago, however I have two questions. Did this set up come with a navigation antenna or is that separate or do you even need it ?? also when using Sirius XM, do you need the SiriusXM SXV300 to make xm work. Thank you
I can't remember if it comes with a navigation antenna but if you're using Android auto app or carplay you can just use the maps in there. You will need a separated XM tuner because it is just XM compatible but you also have to have the tuner to make it work
You can also stream satellite radio stations through an app when your phone is connected instead of installing a real satellite antenna.
Does the navigation display on the HUD?
It does not from the radio or through carplay/android auto.
It does however display on the HUD when you use OnStar navigation.
Is the mounting bracket you used fabricated?
Do you have to cut the cube out or is there a way to unscrew and remove it? Does it absolutely have to be CUT?
I think it does have to be cut… not terrible, but you do have to realize that the OEM analog head unit was a single DIN, inside of a complete double DIN casing. If you remove the entire assembly/casing, you’ll see a screw in the rear, where the CD drive has a screw extending, with a wall anchor style mount that goes to that “cube” styled mount.
If you’re installing these newer Carplay and navigation-equipped head units, most people don’t see a need to go back at all, whatsoever; that is, unless it’s an absolute emergency, and it would also be a lot of work going back that way. I’m actually not even sure it can be done… although I’m sure it’s been tried.
Even if the stock head unit goes back in, I think you can figure out a way to stabilize it, IF it DOES move around without that original anchor style mount in the back… It’s definitely not the end of the world. And if you had a shop professionally install it, you better hope they did it clean enough LOL Cause chances are, most people won’t be taking the new system out again themselves, unless they DON’T have warranty or run out of it.

which kit do you like the best for the camaro maestro or the pac rpk 5 as I want to do the same set up and with the pioneer 1500nex.
This kit is absolutely the best from idatalink but you have to make sure that the radio get is idatalink maestro compatible

I noticed this head unit had a button for the defroster but didn’t see one for the rear is the defroster button for both? Because I’m thinking of getting this exact unit
The whole kit is a little expensive, but this is the next upgrade I want my Camaro 2014 1LE. Even though the OEM radio on my car has a touch screen, the factory software is pretty useless and has no Android/Apple integration.

The digital octopus radio is the most expensive out of any aftermarket option available, but I like it because it looks OEM and has everything you could ever need or want out of an Android radio.

@@cheddarballs864 There's only 2 reports of that happening so far, and the most likely culprit is an improper installation, people who has never soldered wires thinking they can install a car head unit by just following a youtube video.
How much would a job like this cost with parts and labor?
I just installed this same kit with a Pioneer radio also. Everything works however, the accessory buttons for the gauges, climate, and vehicle info don't pull anything up on the radio itself. I can control the fan with the other accessory buttons and I was able to program the bottom row. But those three accessory buttons that are supposed to bring up a different screen don't do anything. Any ideas?
Is the pioneer radio maestro compatible? Also you have to have the idata link maestro data cable connected to the back of the pioneer head unit
