I was thinking the same thing. They could easily ditch the "appointment" thing and just make a queue like a normal maze and have the effects going on a loop.

most people commenting on this video are all relying on jump scares, that is why they are all upset because this Experience event, which they are mistaking for a haunted house to be boring because no one is jumping out and scaring. when yet its clearly a "IT" experience that is free, they think they should get a full blown haunted house for free lol.

I just saw the old pennywise with the other clowns in the clown room
They weren't horrible, but your camera person wasn't really filming whatever interesting was happening. I kept hearing cool noises while the camera just showed me walls and stuff.

its a EXPERIENCE event not a haunted house maze, that's why its free because it a demo. if you had to pay to go in then maybe they would go bigger but that's not the case here.

I know this is just to promote the film, but they should keep it around until Halloween is over
Not gonna lie I thought it was gonna be pretty cool, the "scary" stuff only pick up towards the end of the maze, I was expecting a bunch of jump scares.
I went in there !!! There was so much people in line to go in that house. I even saw the boy holding the balloon 🎈 and he was with these other boys dressed in yellow rain jackets
I love how all the guides are dressed like Georgie
We stood in line for this because they told us if you got there before a certain time they would let you in for free at 1. We waited about an hour and a half until the guy told us they needed to wait for the building inspector. We cut our losses and got lunch instead. Looked like the line hadn't moved when we walked past it again. After seeing this, I'm glad we cut our losses.

The {Haunted House} was not scary at all, it did have some decent scenery... the absolute best thing to see there was at 1:30 "bottom" right! XD
It's too bad that the "bottom" isn't a permanent part of the attraction... that may have made it somewhat impressive and not so slow and boring.

The actual haunted house set used for filming was about 15 min from my house. The town the movie was filmed is about 30 min away!
I love it when things get advertised like this. Like when the new season of the X-Files was going to air, there was a giant ufo crashed in the centre of the a giant mall in LA and I thought it was amazing. I'm looking forward to this, I reserved a day on September 8th. What better way to have an IT day than attending this the day of the movie?

This actually looks pretty cool.I have to say,it is really good to see that there are a lot of people as hyped and excited for this movie as I am and there is cool stuff like this going on leading up to the release of the Stephen King's It remake,just saying.
i passed by this house in LA! the ppl outside were wearing yellow raincoats and had red balloons it was so scary!!
Must say I was expecting a bit more. Nobody seemed very frightened.
On the first shot it should show the house and everything but all I could see on it was the Hamilton posters next to it *^* I freaked out I was like "OMG NEXT TO IT THERE'S HAMILTON POSTERS!!"

This is a pretty big stunt, which in a way is kind of cool, but at the same time makes me think this new IT movie isn't very good if they are trying this hard. Usually when studios do over the top marketing and tie-ins (see Tom Cruise's The Mummy), the movie is usually a flop (and they know it).

Eh, that's true for some films. But to do something like this that is for a very hyped film, it's doubtful they think it will flop. In fact I'd go as far as to say they're doing this BECAUSE they think/know it will be good, not that it will be bad. No point in pouring money into marketing if you knew it was gonna tank anyway. It's merely cool, free promo for a very highly anticipated horror film. They know it will work.

Thehorrormaster 11, I never said the film will flop, I just said I'm nervous because this is a very classic book and the original film is a classic. Remakes are very tricky (Ghostbusters anyone?) Universal did a huge marketing campaign for Tom Cruise's The Mummy placing a 75 foot sarcophagus on Hollywood Blvd. They also heavily marketed it at Universal Florida complete with merchandise, and the movie was a big old flop. That's literally all I'm saying. The Mummy is only one example I could list many more.
Joshua Mattel, since my job is advertising and marketing, and I'm a former Universal employee, I can tell you that studios do exactly that, they pour millions into marketing a movie, even more so if they are nervous about it. That's where I'm coming from with my comment. Don't think that studios only put money into "hit" movies. Having lived and worked in Hollywood I have been to dozens of parties and special events that were one night only things to help promote something that literally tanked the next day. I never said this movie is a flop, or will flop, I actually am hoping it does well, but doing a promotional stunt like this brings back a lot of bad memories. I remember a huge event for Will Smith's Wild Wild West and can list dozens more.
