    I use Blue Cash Preferred for groceries and streaming services year, I get 6% back year round and Chase Sapphire Reserve for everything else.
    I'm probably losing on Ultimate Rewards points by not using Chase freedom but the rotating categories is not worth my time and effort. There is money earned in consistency.

    Can verify CSR is giving 5x points for Walmart Supercenters. My go to card for groceries is Amex Gold and I try to go only to true grocery stores to get what I need to take advantage of the 4x. This 5X on CSR is amazing and I will be using it for as long as this lasts and maybe doing some stocking up on non-perishables and some miscellaneous Walmart purchases.

    Sebby, thanks stating the obvious, that Chase's UR are transferable so better than 12x Hilton points. It took your vid to remind me of this. (I already have too many Hilton points). My intent here is to point out with CSR's 5x for grocery, this exceeds the 3x for restaurants, so I'm now going to stack up on restaurant gift cards. My local grocery store also has fuel perks, so I'll be stacking points and getting free gas in the end too (up to 30 gal each fill up). I'll buy enough cards to last till end of the year, 5x is fantastic. Keep up the good work, stay healthy. ......I missed the cap for CSR at $1500 per month. Tip to everyone, use gift cards to hit each cap. Buy a gift card now to Grocery X and use if the rest of the year.

    If you hate annual fees and don't want to worry. I think the Amex blue card everyday is great.
    Zero fee. 3% at the market and 2% on gas 1% everything else. All cash back.
    I like cards like this because I never have to think about it. No worry on if I'm using it enough to be worth it.
    Never think about how you are going to spend points. Just grab the cash back when it post and put it against your purchases then pay the card back off.
    No amount of trying to squeeze a little more out of points is worth the time and hassle.
    It will be different if you travel a lot though. For us home bodies it's just easy.
    All the stuff on the point stores are way over priced anyway. I don't think you get the "deals" you think you do.
    Now if they would only stop trying to "upgrade" me.

    I haven't started with the points game yet, so for now I think it makes sense to stick with my cash back setup so: BCP 6% on supermarkets and streaming + Amex offer of 5% on supermarkets so 11% back on supermarkets effective, Discover it with this quarter's 5% back on gas, BofA Cash Rewards with 3% back on online shopping as my chosen category, and Citi DoubleCash with 2% on everything else.

    Target did NOT trigger 5x on CSR, anyone else get something different?

  • @gregoryyee9356

    I haven't really seen any cards mentioned that are good for groceries abroad. Aside from the rotating 5% grocery category, I'm guessing a travel card would be the next best thing for this situation?

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  4 года назад +1

      Rotating cards would have a 3% FTF so you would only net 2%. Definitely an interesting edge case if we see remote work (especially abroad) continue aggressively.

    What's fcp? Fnp...you don't talk down to us but watching a lot of your videos... I don't know the real benefits to cards...you talk like I know what some stuff is sometimes. I appreciate it. I am not dumb but...well...
    What does priority pass include....what is it
    Companion pass?
    TSA check? From your talk it sounds like a basic but I have no clue

    I have the CSP and wanting to upgrade to the CSR. I already had the CSP for more than a year but due to COVID-19 I’m not sure what my next step is since I can’t get a hold of customer service. Do I just apply for the CSR on the chase website and the upgrade will automatically kick in? Please help

      I have both Amex Gold and CF, I still find the Gold waay more useful than CF year round. 4x on Grocery and Restaurants for an AF $30 ($250-120-100 grubhub/airline credit). Easily earned over 24K MR each year for me grocery alone LoL

    • @gtrr3246
      @gtrr3246 4 года назад

      @@josemaciel3582 I wouldn't recommend Amex Gold IF you are single and don't cook or go out frequently. For Grubhub, I think you can find a meal from any fast food for under $10. With the airline credit, it's hard to use unless you actually travel (airline-baggage fee, cabin snacks)

    • @mjl7810
      @mjl7810 4 года назад

      @@gtrr3246 Well, if you don't have AMEXGOLD you would save $250 year and use it any where you want to. You are not required to spend it on Grubhub, which is by the way over priced and you can choose to keep $100 airline credit as cash instead of using it as an airline credit- they are even clawing back some credits right now. I bet you know which choice is more reasonable.
      Best best best case scenario you are still loosing $30 per year with AMEX gold.
      But I think Plat and Green is much more reasonable depending on your useage
