When Mercedes stayed true to their brand and identity... When every Mercedes class was unique own .. When you can option out your small compact rwd sedan with the mighty powerplant available.... When naturally aspirated V8s resonated with the vehicle's character ...
It remains my favorite generation of E-Class AMGs. It looks great, it sounds like music, and it is a comfortable cruiser. Thanks for the videos and cheers!
My CLK63 AMG is 17 years old and although I’ve never officially measured it, with 199000km, it still pulls like mad and puts its power down smoothly and effortlessly. Good maintenance together with preventative maintenance go a long way to keeping these engines running at their peak.
I love your channel man. I’m following you since 2019. The excellence and refinement of your video is unmatched along with your perfect cars with the perfect conditions. I learned a lot from you and I hope all the best for you
Man I gotta get my hands on that Car and Driver issue! Beautiful color on your car too. Love the way the m156 revs out and snaps off those shifts. Nice video!
I've had my '10 for two years now and loved every second. What it is, and what it represent correlate so correctly. The (more often than not older) crowd that came from the W211, did not really like it. I love it for those reasons. The auto is faster and a bit more abrupt, but still a great cruiser. Engine, a lot of low down grunt, but still feels like you have to chase the rpm on it. All of it is in this transformative time, where after, it is all downhill. Mercedes loose themselves along with everyone else. Downsizing, piano black everything, rgb etc. Not to mention AMG becoming fully in-house and watering it down, making it feel like a trim option. Great specimen shown in this video.
That was waaaay too short a video. I wanted more 😊. I own a 2013 C63 and second every comment you made. These cars are just awesome, love the symphony you get even in sport mode and don’t get me talking about sport+; shall I go on? 😂
I picked one up, after i sold my w212 e63 S rwd version. The facelift S interior is much nicer and the car more comfortable despite my 6.2 having the performance pack. Certainly the 6.2 is louder and has hydraulic steering which is great. The facelift is a bit more stable with a tiny bit better handling, with a smoother transmission and more luxury than my 6.2 but my 6.2 has better options like dynamic seats and distronic. I've just seen 2 very nice S model facelifts which are low mileage and have distronic etc, I'm very tempted to go back to the facelift !
Interesting thoughts, but having driven a 2014 E63s and my 2011 I thought the interior was basically identical other than the steering wheel. Comfort was identical. The pre facelift performance pack did have stiffer suspension though so I could see why yours wouldn’t be as comfortable.
@AMGmeister the interior has quite a few subtle differences. The S amg comes with the IWC clock, full nappa leather. I know some 6.2 ones have leather or luxury pack but mine doesn't. The worst part of my 6.2 is the damn cruise control stalk, its crazy the put it above the indicator stalk. I had my facelift for over 3 years, my 6.2 for only 4 months. I used to own a w211 e63 before too. Also even though my FL was rwd , it put the power down better than my 6.2. Could be part due to tyres but definitely additional dynamic mods in the FL. The big downer in the FL is if the rear tyres lose grip, the revs shoot up to the red line in a flash if the TC doesn't cut power, the 6.2 seems to give me more time to adjust The ride in the FL was a fair bit more supple. Maybe I need to change the shocks. I think the hydraulic steering is a big plus in the 6.2 for feel . The FL feels more refined but that's not always a good thing
This was the car that made me want to get a e63 i rem a buddy pulled up in it in 2014 and was absolutely ripping it around town then he gave me the wheel and man i was blown away
I got the 2009 E63... i can feel the exhaust being too restrictive. Getting headers on it soon. Its my first Mercedes after 4 years of owning multiple BMWs including M4. This is my new addiction.
@@wasif51 I'm keen to get a W211 E63 stock - but yeah they're a bit more muffled right? I'm just about to get my W211 E55 back on the road but would love to have both options in my garage.
@thatmatty231guy Yeah they totally are. It gets a lot better with a resonator delete and an x-pipe. That is on my list of mods soon. Maybe test drive and see which you prefer. E63 with it's 7 speed is good daily driver. Minus the fuel consumption lol
9.4 100-200 is very healthy indeed. My 2007 S63's best 100-200 was 10.5. It weights a bit more than your's but has the same power, although with the 7 speed TCT torque converter instead of the MCT. Is your's fully stock? Sounds quite loud. Mine was super quiet without the resonator delete.
Still fast after 14 years? It would still be super fast 14 years from now! I have a W213 V6 3L twin turbo, though your W212 V8 makes mine look like a snail.
Quite interesting. I have a 21 Polestar 2 with the performance upgrade and have achieved 3.9 seconds to 60mph and 12.1 seconds in the quarter. Mid range is insane but I've not measured it. As reference, I've 476hp and 504 ftlbs of torque and weigh in at 4700 lbs
Interesting, the polestar 1 is a bit quicker than the E63 as it can do 100-200 in 9.1 seconds. The old Polestar 2 is like 13.5 seconds so you’re probably somewhere in between.
@@AMGmeisterPerhaps yeah. For context, the P2 does 30-50 in 1.5 seconds and 50-70 in 1.9 seconds. Probably up to 100 it'll give a lot of cars a massive headache. Its mass is what kills the overall performance.
Why it wouldn't be fast? There are more cars out there with 500+hp which is not that impressive nowadays. BUT! It's an illusion because we mostly see them on social media. How many of those cars you see on the road every day? Probably you will get lucky to see smth like that once in a month. It's not that e63 is not fast after 14 years. It's just that nowadays there are more and more fast cars around. For sure there are more cars that are faster than this e63 but they all are fast. To an average driver this e63 is SCARY FAST!
The front end might be one of the most timeless and beautiful Mercedes of all time. The rear end, specifically the tail lights, look boring and uninspired. Literally like every single sedan on the road.
I've got w211 e63amg. 0-100/62 4.7s and 100-200 9.6s 0-240/150 23s. Your has better gearbox. My one has 103000miles. Unfortunately in uk market they don't keep the price up as you can get in Germany. I love this car.
You should have tested with TC off or in sport when testing from a dig. That probably made a big hit to your 0-60. I find the TC in these cars to be very aggressive.
Yes, this E63 is definitely limited by being RWD and the S4/S5 is just as fast from 0-60mph/0-100kph. However, 100-200kph is different story. 9.4 seconds with the E63 is faster than a B9 RS5 per AutoTopNL which was 9.9 seconds. S4/S5 is around 12 seconds.
I'm a mercedes hater (not really but this here is the golden age, I dont like the bodies after this) and even I say DUH! Its an e63, it will always be fast asf!
Is it still fast after 14 years
YES
Sounds good?
YES
I cant stop loving M156’s man, So addictive
This E63 AMG W212 with M156 aged like wine. What a beautiful car🔥
The Mercedes w212 E class still looks modern. This is one of those cars that doesn't age like milk.
The front is definitely aged, but aged like fine wine imo.Just like the w211. It doesn't age like other cars of it's vintage.
I think in general, most cars from the mid to late 2000s aged well. Think of the e90 3 series from 2004
I think this was the worthy successor to the W124 in terms of timeless looks for the E class lineage. The w210 was horrendous!
It definitely aged
The best comment I’ve read, yes they age like wine 🍷
Still better than many newer cars, combining plenty of punch along with an exquisite V8 tone.
That M156 motor is symphony of emotions ❤
The M156/M159 will do that to you!

Same here bro I have. 05 E55 AMG with 153k miles (black)
04 S55 here with 102k miles, the m113k is so sick lmfaooo
Talk about a timeless design. Wow that car looks good
Its faster than most on the everyday. Thats what counts. Awesome.
W212 still my absolute favorite E-Class! Last standalone also as it doesn't look like a small S-Class or a big C-Class!
Absolutely beautiful and still a beast!

I like the look of E63s more than C63s
Very Sweet and clean car
I have a 2010 e63 that i bought purely to sell but looks like I am going to keep it. This car is so addictive!

pre facelift W212's are just gorgeous
Loving that Rugged stock exhaust sound....
This W212 E-Class has an absolutely beautiful, timeless design. It is truly a legendary German Super Sedan until today.❤❤😍
What a beauty!
This car is really the sweet spot fast enough for the every man but still emotionally engaging in a way we all want.
Love the Vid!
It's still a hammer and a tornado of emotions 😍
Sounds great. Stock exhaust?
Yes, stock exhaust.
@AMGmeister wow that surprised me. It's a lot louder than my stock w211 e63

How GOOD are the redline gear changes in Sport+
So addictive in mine and can definitely get me into trouble holding that peddle down.

need more of that V8 soundtrack
Best Beast ever
Very neat, please let me know the tire sizes you are running.

Yes, fully stock. They really gave the W212 E63 and the W204 C63 more volume over the other M156 cars.
nice car pal
watching this thinking god damn if only my W211 E55 could reliably handle this transmission 🤤🤤
Car is still cool no matter what 😎
Answer: YES.
2:30 they sound like this anymore...
who doesnt love a 4 cylinder vacuum cleaner in his AMG...
Still fast after 14 years? It would still be super fast 14 years from now!
I have a W213 V6 3L twin turbo, though your W212 V8 makes mine look like a snail.
Thank you for the info I have one
I’d hold onto this like my firstborn son
Yes and I approve this message
Would love to have this engine (m156) swapped into and mated to my e39 540i/6speed.
A Eurocharged tune will wake it up nicely if you so wish :)
A true LUXERY car.
Is that enough? Does it need a supercharger to keep up ?
VÄTH made it to 638hp NA

Did the E63 come with lsd?
Perfection
Not a lot of low-mileage 2011 E 63s out here in silver or grey. It might be worth it to get a black or white then do a wrap or respray.

Do w211 e63 vs w212 e63
My stock 2010 E63 with 104,000 miles on it on street tires is still hitting a 12.6s 1/4 mile. I dont think i will ever get rid of the car.
Thinking of getting a 2013 with 110,000k miles on it for 24k any advice that I should hear ?
Best car for the price
Gorgeous and immaculate, props.

i know you said a lot of things but all i can hear is that exhaust note
I’ve very rarely seeen any e63 before, I don’t think I have honestly
I hear an M113K somewhere in there
Why you didn't get with m157 engine ? Yeah i know na v8 port injection you are pure benz man 💪😂

My favorite benz is w211 and w212 of course AMG only lol.
still punches hard 14 years later! sub 10 seconds 100-200 kph is properly fast
I can't afford an AMG this 2012 C350 makes me wonder what C63 would be like if it this fast.
My best 0-60 in my w211 E63 is 4.275 seconds on All seasons Michelin AS4
Makes sense - I think my 5 year old Michelin AS3 tires are not helping with the 0-60.
You should have tested with TC off or in sport when testing from a dig. That probably made a big hit to your 0-60. I find the TC in these cars to be very aggressive.
my 350 cgi is 14 y old too, and still as fast as new (with 210 k km on it)
benz should have supercharged the m156
My 2012 c63 goes 12.3 1/4 mile time
Put a turbo on it
why is it still fast. Well maybe because it has 6.2 v8 idk???A sd,adwkalfe 345dgrf
I dust scat packs and mustangs in mine all day long
its not bad actually BUT not that good, considering s4/s5 do the same number but has way less power(350hp)

My 2009 CLS63 AMG is still a Monster.....!
Ill still take an E55 with the Kompressor over the E63. Way more reliable.

After 14 years i wouldnt care bout 0 to 60 times etc as long as car is still running good with that thunderous sound who cares bout rest
