more bullet impacts, as in more bullets hittin. vs the 20mm going through with little to no damage and in one or 2 spots instead of in a line. common thing to use in bush craft woodwork etc.. when you want to hack off material quickly, just tap a few holes in it and break it off. one slightly bigger hole won't do as much to weaken a material then say 3 smaller holes in a line.
@@DevilDaRebel Know it's late, but this was common - bullets/shells/flak fire going right through the plane and only leaving a hole, with the plane unaffected, especially because most fuses at the time were poorly set and rarely blew up in a plane.

The only thing I see about the Difference between the Gaz-AAA (DShK)’s reload and the Wirbelwind’s, is the fact that the Wirbelwind has a dedicated loader and it has magazines. And the Gaz-AAA (DShK) has a belt-fed machine gun, with no dedicated Loader. And yes maybe it is a bit fast for 4 magazines but it would still be faster than the belt-fed.
Two dedicated loaders on the Wirbelwind, one on each side of the gun assembly! One is represented as the vehicle commander in-game, though I believe IRL the commander was in fact the gunner.
Haha yeah I discovered that recently. Utterly useless. They bothered to implement that one but none of the rear facing guns on the Japanese tanks or half of the hull MGs in the game.

Ah the T-26-4. I remember that when it was first announced the "Russian Bias" accusations reached the absolute height of absurdity. People actually claimed it will be OP becasue a 76mm gun would somehow make it a "Tier 1 KV-2". Of course completely ignorign the fact that the Panzer 4 C which is better in every way did in fact, exist since the beginning.
These videos are what I look forward to most. I'm already way past these tiers in most tech trees but I still love hearing about the nuances of each vehicle.
I really enjoy these videos you are doing! At several points you mention map knowledge is a good skill to learn early on and I was wondering if you could one day do a video or several videos providing overviews on the various tank maps such as good positions, areas to avoid etc. Also I know that would be a large undertaking, so I would understand if you couldn't do it, but there seems to be a real lack of that kind of info readily available.
I've seen your other videos on germany and italy and they have helped me alot. As of now I am just getting in teir 5 russia, can't wait to see your tips and recommendations! Keep up the great work oxy!
There is something to be aware of with the SU-5-1 as well. It is possible to fire enough ammo to completely deplete your reloads, going to a cap will not resupply and you are then complete defenseless. It's situational though as many people likely won't live long enough to use your two or three reloads. I only found out about it in an assault game mode where I just had to abandon and switch vehicles.
I've researched every Soviet vehicle with the exception of a couple rank V and rank VI tanks and I've still never even touched the SU-5-1. The BT-5 is also surprisingly survivable vs HEAT-FS and HESH shells when hit from the side or an odd front angle and can occasionally tank shots from long 88s and similar guns if you're lucky. The blessed Soviet fuel tanks are not to be messed with.

30:05 the Wirbelwind actually has 2 loaders and its 20mm guns use magazines, not belts. 10 seconds to reload a 50 cal belt isn't comfortable to play, but kinda realistic
My favorite soviet rank 1 is the T-35 its a beast it doesnt have much armor on the outside but on the inside it has O R G A N I C A R M O R if you angle not much will go through sturmpanzer and planes are really your biggest threat (from my experience) the multi gun platform alows you to cover your flanks easily your biggest disadvantage by far when playing it though is your size thats why i reccomend when you play it you stay with your team. but Great video mate!
Muro and they instantly get the tiger at tier 3 they should get the panther since its has sloped armor but you’re turte and side armor is bad so don’t angle you’re panthers armor and get the tank destroyers they should get the tiger 1 last i did that since i had an account and I got to tier got the tiger and did terrible and i lost my account i play on ps4 so i lost my ps4 account and i made another ps 4 account and downloaded war thunder and didn’t play much but 1 month ago I played a lot i was tier2 and now im tier4 on Germany
Toss Off they are good but there’s more learning curve still. I’m still having trouble using the hell cat and 76 Sherman’s simply because unless you’re using the jumbo you can get penned by pretty much anything German whether you’re angling or not. Especially on long range maps I just find myself getting completely exploited and I’ve had more than 50% of my games not even resulting in a kill.
So oxy, i would like to 'copy' your template for reviewing tech trees,mentioning pros and cons and whether theyre worth getting and keeping,or not The only difference is i would be reviewing world of tanks blitz tech tree instead of wt.And since there are far less vehicles i could cover all tanks in a nation in a single video I will link your channel in the description on every tech tree review I hope it is okay for you Keep making these vids! I think the T-26 is a fine tank, I was really good with it because of the low visibility, which made it easier to flank enemies or destroy them from a range.
FINALLY someone else who praises the Su-57. That thing is amazing, I've had some players say "I thought that M16 looked weird" after shoving a 57mm up their face.

I do have one nit to pick, though, which i only bring up since it's something of a personal bug: when talking about the GAZ-AAA (DShK) you mention the armor-piercing ammo belt as having a "cement core round". This round is actually a cermet core (with an R), so named because the bullet core is composed of a ceramic-metal composite! "Cement" is very commonly used by mistake when referring to this round type, and, well, I might as well put the correction out there, right? Keep up the good work!
These line up series are so good. I've wanted something like this since I started WT and I'm up to 5+ BR on several nations. It takes so long to get through the stock grind and longer still to get a real handle on how to use each tank you end up only being happy with your line up when you are about to shift to the next. OXY this time I came early, can you make the lineups for the ones who don't like planes? For example im grinding the German tree but I'm not planning to grind up to the mig 21, anyway thanks for your videos
if you don't like planes stay away from warthunder , otherwise you're just going to be canon fodder for those who do. you will find yourself killing a guy and then he'll beeline for a revengekill from a plane and you're going to be defenseless as tanks can't fight aircraft. did the same mistake and i only realised this after spending too much time on the game...
@@doktork3406 I did this with the Italian tree, I unlocked most of the air tree, but I just don't fancy grinding THE ENTIRE AIR TREE, I already have good CAS for Germany (ju 87s and hs129) but I just don't want to grind my ass off, also, if you for example suck at planes, and you just like the games for the tanks, it would be nice to have he gave the non CAS lineups, on the other hand, you are right, most of the tanks are defenceless in regards to aircraft, but if you play smart you can avoid them (not deploying smoke, not shooting at them with the mgs, etc), anyway, thanks for the advice, I just want lineups with CAS and without CAS for the ones who don't enjoy planes or don't want to grind the entire air tree

i think the t-60 is one of the best ones overall it's super fun, has decent speed and you learn to maneuver around enemies while training you to find the soft spots early on
30:07 Not too amiss. Wirbel probably should be a bit slower since there's 4 guns, but in my experience it's definitely quicker to swap mags vs change out a belt.
1:40 a small mistake. It's not because of fuse, it's because it has a flat nose. All russian APHEBC and APBC shells have a flat nose beneath the ballistic cap and according to Gaijin it makes a shell better than any other AP shell type versus angled armour. Especially when the shell is overmathing the armour. Thats why 57mm APHEBC can punch right though M4A2 UFP easily, but 57mm APHE can't reliably.
T-34 is a great tank. I like it more than Shermans. Side armour is fantastic and mobility is great. Maybe gun depression is a con but every other Russian tank has that problem.
The one about the AA reloads is easy. The GAZ gunner has to reload a belt-fed MG, while the wirbelwind has 2 loaders and they each only reload 2 magazines. Reloading magazines is much quicker and easier tan inserting a new belt into the DShK.
Just for clarification, the reason why Russian APHEBC shells ingame penetrate angles so well is not bc of the fuse, cap or anything. Essentially it's blunt nosed APBC (vs sharp nosed US APBC for example) but it penetrates angles so well because Gaijin gave it made up fantasy slope modifiers that make APHEBC shells counteract slopes better than longrod APFSDS. And I'm not exaggerating. T-34 vs 122mm APHEBC has about 50mm of protection, and about 70 vs M829 120mm APFSDS
These upcoming reviews will also apply to 50% of the Chinese tech-tree
Not really as you have some other deck options that make you able to play tanks that are worse in the USSR tree.

When you hull break an LVT with 10mm of pen
I am pretty sure that if you damage the hull of a vehicle until it is blacked out, it will hullbreak. This is unlikely to happen, but not unheard of.

This hull break mechanic is so inconsistent. You can hull break an LVT wiht maschineguns but you can't hull break the 88 Flak Bus with one 152 APHE.
I once hull broke a tiger 2 by shooting it's track with a machine gun from my amx 13

I love the T-26-4. First spawn, driving through the half map and flanking the enemy from the side or behind garanties 4-5 kills.
Mother Russia at last! I started out as a German player and have ended up a Russkie so this order is quite nice
As someone who mainly plays US I find Russia and Germany to be way easier and less stressful to use.
U.S is very good at top tier and good at 4.7 up. Below that I can barely stomach playing it

One good thing about the Gaz-4M is that the 30 caliber machine guns are water-cooled which means they don't overheat or jam, so no need to burst
15:07 in fact, ground vehicle 50cals currently pen more. The best ap bullet can pen 33mm or armor at point blank range.

@@doktork3406 I did this with the Italian tree, I unlocked most of the air tree, but I just don't fancy grinding THE ENTIRE AIR TREE, I already have good CAS for Germany (ju 87s and hs129) but I just don't want to grind my ass off, also, if you for example suck at planes, and you just like the games for the tanks, it would be nice to have he gave the non CAS lineups, on the other hand, you are right, most of the tanks are defenceless in regards to aircraft, but if you play smart you can avoid them (not deploying smoke, not shooting at them with the mgs, etc), anyway, thanks for the advice, I just want lineups with CAS and without CAS for the ones who don't enjoy planes or don't want to grind the entire air tree
Oxy: Thanks for the videos. Please do some more. I really like your informative but laid back attitude in your videos. Exactly the thing for senior gamers who really enjoy this tank game. Sadly for all the kids this game always moved bit by bit to a kinda arcade game.

i think the t-60 is one of the best ones overall
it's super fun, has decent speed and you learn to maneuver around enemies while training you to find the soft spots early on

1:40 a small mistake.
It's not because of fuse, it's because it has a flat nose. All russian APHEBC and APBC shells have a flat nose beneath the ballistic cap and according to Gaijin it makes a shell better than any other AP shell type versus angled armour. Especially when the shell is overmathing the armour. Thats why 57mm APHEBC can punch right though M4A2 UFP easily, but 57mm APHE can't reliably.

The gun on the SU-57 performs a lot like a 6 Pounder. That's because the US 57mm Anti-Tank Gun M1 actually IS a 6 Pounder. It's a direct copy.

T-34 is a great tank. I like it more than Shermans. Side armour is fantastic and mobility is great.
Maybe gun depression is a con but every other Russian tank has that problem.
The one about the AA reloads is easy. The GAZ gunner has to reload a belt-fed MG, while the wirbelwind has 2 loaders and they each only reload 2 magazines. Reloading magazines is much quicker and easier tan inserting a new belt into the DShK.
Just for clarification, the reason why Russian APHEBC shells ingame penetrate angles so well is not bc of the fuse, cap or anything. Essentially it's blunt nosed APBC (vs sharp nosed US APBC for example) but it penetrates angles so well because Gaijin gave it made up fantasy slope modifiers that make APHEBC shells counteract slopes better than longrod APFSDS. And I'm not exaggerating. T-34 vs 122mm APHEBC has about 50mm of protection, and about 70 vs M829 120mm APFSDS
