the man who wanted to beat up Alf, the puppet, because he wasn't the main character and because the holes in the set (in which up to four people were in to bring Alf to "life") upset him? 😅 But yes, RIP everyone who worked on this childhood-memories
Back in the 80s as a kid I thought nothing of it but now that I listen to it, it feels like I can travel back to the 80s for a minute and be a kid again :P
Boy, this really brings back memories of playing drums, with my friend playing piano, and my brother playing a perfect funky bass, to it! R.I.P Brian. I miss you. 🤗🤗🤗😢
@@lorenzmuller3542 highly doubt it, doesn't sound like him... too crispy, sounds like a Jazz Bass, not something he would use back then (compare with "The Bird" by Lee Ritenour)... someone else said it's actually Neil Stubenhaus
One of the best show themes to jam out to. Oh that bass line kicks ass! The slower more mellow rendition used in subsequent seasons is also pretty good as well. I have always loved ALF.

Jedyny serialowy utwór który przypomina beztroskoskie i wspniaale byci dzieckiem urodzonym w latach 80. Sama kompozycja, melodia i instrumenty są genialne.
The oddest thing just happened.. I'm 41 yrs old.. I havent seen alf since the 80s.. and the theme song popped in my head out of nowhere. I came to make sure I was right that it was Alf's theme song. Turns out I was right.. but why the hell did it just pop into my head?
The 1980s were so great! I wish we could go back to those simpler times. It was so much fun being a kid! Now and days they're so much junk on TV that you can't find a show to watch as a family. I wish they would bring all these shows back and keep them syndicated on the air so that families can watch them together.
The bass line on this famous track shows, how important a bass really is and what it can do in proper hands! I still don´t get the bad image some people have about bass players!
Damn that slap bass hitting hard as hell. They went to work on this beat. it reminds me of Michael Jackson dont stop until you get enough mixed with a 80s porno beat
RIP Benji Gregory.
Oh blimey :(
I’ve only just discovered this sad news . How awful 😢. I’m sorry to hear this
The 80's had the most wholesome tv theme songs, family ties being another
the 70's did also mr. gordy sir.

Yes indeed....
Who's the Boss is another great one.
ALF theme always gets me right in the feels
This song couldn't be more '80s. Slap bass, palm-muted guitar riffs, string synth layers. It's got it all. 😄
One of the best theme songs ever! The bass rifts on this song were the coolest!👍
Yes, great melody
Bro, there's something wrong with you if you've never tried to expand the melody in your own mind😄
Vinnie Colaiuta on drums ! :)
As a bassplayer I'm always stunned when I hear the basslines.

This little melody is the auditive statement for EVERYTHING IS JUST FINE! ❤️

Whenever life gets me down I listen to the ALF theme and everything is better.
i cry every time
Back in the 80s as a kid I thought nothing of it but now that I listen to it, it feels like I can travel back to the 80s for a minute and be a kid again :P
It has an "outer space into a sitcom" vibe!
Growing up in the 80's this theme always stayed in my head.
"The cat won't fit in the toaster!"
Pretty dark, but hey. These were the Reagan days.
hahah!
Be aware with Clinton era!
Yes certainly the best era of America, when we had loads of money and cinema was at it's prime with masterpiece after masterpiece.
Xon Zerning Oh look! Another lowlife fuckhead.

This really is a GREAT song. ALF is one of the best shows ever produced. Thanks for uploading.
Slick hihat groove, busy slap bass playing, extra cheesy DX7, Nile Rodgersesque guitar and Bruce Hornsbyish Piano. This is pure ultra 80s!
Yes!
All those things.
But don't forget, towards the end when those "violins" come in to swell the layering and heighten the beauty....
Magic.
I miss you Alf...and millions of thank yous to Alf Clausen the composer of this amazing song!
One of the most memorable themes ever. and that bass... pure brilliancy.

One of the best basslines I've heard
And funny that so many ppl come from '2204355'; a good song can be found anywhere - you did yourself a favour by finding the original.
I'm pretty sure it's Abe Laboriel on bass. :-)

Best Bass guitar arrangement EVER! Sounds so perfect to me with all it´s nuances! Awesome work!
Leland sklar was the Bass player
Percussionist too
It's Neil Stubenhaus. Vinnie Colaiuta (who plays the drums here) said in an Interview.
@@doeni2 yeah, Neil would make more sense to me, doesn't sound like Sklar or Laboriel... do you have the original interview where Vinnie said that?
@@LeandroDimitrio yes, I have the interview in German. It's from the German sticks magazine from round about 1988
