    I have managed to upgrade from 16.04 >18.04>20.04 without any major issues in the past as long as I remembered to disable any extra PPS's i had enabled / thanks for the video :_)

    • @hitmanbodyguard8002
      @hitmanbodyguard8002 2 года назад +1

      How did you disable those ppa??

    • @JayRCela
      @JayRCela 2 года назад +1

      @@hitmanbodyguard8002 with the desktop environment open Settings Manager > Software & Updates then select the Other Software tab and uncheck any of the PPA's you may have added over the course of time before you go thru the upgrade process. Once completed go back and re-enable those PPA's one at a time and test each one to ensure they still work, by doing a sudo apt update in the terminal for each PPA you reenable. You may also need to update the Ubuntu release name on each one, as some may report and error and some will not.

    • @kskroyaltech
      @kskroyaltech  2 года назад

      Mostly it preserves the old settings of ubuntu. If you have themes applied on previous release may be it will overwrite with defaults of ubuntu 22.04. My suggestion if you have customisations, Its recommended to do clean installation of ubuntu 22.04

    The `-d` option in `do-release-upgrade` installs development/unreleased version of the OS. You shouldn't be upgrading with `-d` option enabled guys. Tired of BS youtube videos constantly spreading dangerous information.
