I always tell everyone to read Six of Crows first. The only spoiler I got was Sturmhond and that did not affect my reading experience of Shadow & Bone. I recommend reading it first because I've seen so many people who read Shadow & Bone and aren't interested enough to continue on to read Six of Crows. Six of Crows is one of the best series I've ever read whereas Shadow & Bone is kind of meh. So, while I cant blame people for feeling that way, they're missing out SO much when they do this! I usually say, read Six of Crows, and you can read Shadow & Bone if you want more. Then you can read King of Scars once you've read both.
I definitely here this reasoning and do not per say disagree. I think it would depend on the person and how committed they are to getting involved in the universe
So, I watched the two seasons and I know the girl ends up with her best friend living happily ever after in anonymity. I honestly didn’t care about the main plot and mainly watched it because of the six of crows computations. If I was to read the six of crows do you think I could follow the second duology without the original series?
So I started off with the shadow and bone trilogy since my friend recommended it to me, at first it was like really boring but once I got the hang of it, I fell in love 😭😭❤️ I just LOVED it. After that I started reading six of crows, and I was upset that it didn't have the same characters as the books before, but it ended up being even better... I can't say how much I loved it 😭 I'm currently almost at the end of crooked kingdom and I have really loved it too ❤❤ this is my absolute favorite book series EVER, especially the six of crows duology, I really love the characters and storytelling. I binge watched the two seasons of the Netflix series and I am now patiently waiting for the third season. I don't know when it will come or if it will at all... But I'll keep waiting
I struggle so much with this universe. I read the S&B trilogy first and disliked the ending so much I can’t pick up Six of Crows (even though I know everyone loves it).
Please read it! I felt the same way about Shadow & Bone but Six of Crows is one of my favorite series ever. This is why I tell all my friends to read Six of Crows first (and yes, I tell everyone I come into contact with to read Six of Crows)
I've read the SoC duology (and loved it obv). And after seeing both the seasons of the show I really wanna read the King Of Scars duology cuz from what I know it follows Zoya and Nikolai. But tbh I'm not much interested in reading the initial trilogy itself. Now I'm in a dilema figuring out if I should just dive in with the KoS ot not 😭.
I read it a while ago so I can’t remember forsure, but I’m sure kos will update you on what’s happening and where they’re at… but you did originally meet both of them in SAB so if you’re one of those people who prefer to know everything before jumping in to a book then you might want to catch yourself up on the original trilogy since zoya and nikolai are originally from that series
Seems you forgot to mention Demon in the Wood. It’s a graphic novel adaptation of the Darkling backstory that was originally bonus content in Ruin and Rising.
I actually never heard of that book until after I made this video, and I still don’t know much about it - but from what someone else told me… it seems to be a graphic novel that’s a size story or a prequel story to the shadow and bone trilogy… but I could be wrong cause again, only just learnt that that book exists
I watched the entire show season 2 included. I have the book six of crows, do you think I should read the 2 other books, siege and storm, run and rising before I read six of crows?
Yes, If you don’t mind finding out some things that happen at the end of shadow and bone since it takes place later in the timeline. I answer this in the first question of the frequently asked question section.
i watched the whole show and i dont know if i need to read the trilogy? Ive read the first duology and im ready for kos. do you think i should read the trilogy?

I’m so upset that six of crows is only a duology. It feels like it was just getting started.

I thought the demon in the wood book was a part of the Grishaverse?
Is that part of a series? I haven’t heard of that book before so idk
I'll send you a pic of it on insta
