    Welcome to Estonia! Hope you enjoy your stay here. As a estonian I never been in Saaremaa, but having a plan to visit this island is still with me.

      We are looking forward to these months! We moved in late October, so we missed out on summer. The good side is: we are gonna experience the whole Saaremaa Summer this year

    As a German, I completely understand why you chose Estonia. Since you bought a lot of agricultural land, you could plan during the winter what to grow and when to seed. Growing own food doesn't make sense economically, but it is enjoyable :-)
    How much bandwidth does your "great internet" connection provide?

    • @sanreh
      @sanreh  2 года назад +6

      "Growing own food doesn't make sense economically, but it is enjoyable :-) "
      Yes, that is the plan for us :). It's also another skill that I would like to learn, and I only learn by doing.
      The great internet is relative :D. In Poland for 100PLN I have had 1000Mbit fiber. Here I have only access to LTE, so I am getting around 50Mbit down/30Mbit up.
      Not best, not worst, but it's stable, so fit definition of "great". RUclips 4K works just as snappy as in Poland, but downloading big files take longer. I will upgrade my LTE router soon, hoping to double the speeds.
      I am waiting for StarLink to be available, already on waiting list.

    • @jayfraxtea
      @jayfraxtea 2 года назад +3

      @@sanreh, StarLink would be awesome! I'm hoping they will allow mobile usage soon, so their service can be used on sailing yachts in the Mediterranean Sea.
      I can highly recommend growing rocket cuz it is very forgiving and tasty. I grow salads, tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes on about 100sqm in southern Germany, all of them can be left alone for a few weeks as long as watering works.
      If I'd settle on such a great place as you did, I'd expand the family with a handful of chickens, that provide eggs every day for about 2 yrs and enjoyment for about 4 yrs. 🐓🥚🥰
      Unfortunately travelling and having chickens doesn't fit together.

      @@jayfraxtea Thank you for the tips!
      "Unfortunately travelling and having chickens doesn't fit together"
      Yes, we have two dogs, but we can take them on trips with us, chickens not so much 🙈
      Elon said mobile usage is coming soonish, it could be even faster than Starlink in Estonia :). Keeping fingers crossed, as mobile usage would be so awesome for all RV community

    I think they brew some kind of 'nastoika' or vodka or something there. I remember trying some, or grabbing a bottle to take back with me.

    Kuressaare is the only town on Saaremaa, population about 15000. So not quite a city. You don't have sauna? That is weird, indeed. I don't know literally any household outside of bigger settlements, that lacks sauna. That's like not having a kitchen. Good luck with the language!

    • @sanreh
      @sanreh  2 года назад +6

      Hi, yes you are right, indeed it is a town and not really a city. I have moved from Wrocław, Poland, and Kuressaare just feels like the big city services-wide, as everything is here close by to each other. :)
      "That's like not having a kitchen"
      Haha, the previous owners had planned to make a sauna out of that shed. We are also planing to buy a sauna, but it's not yet on top of priorities. We first need to renovate the kitchen inside the house, then renovate the shed, replace the roof, renovate the addon to the main building (make it from scratch with floors), build a deck in the back, and maybe then we can get a sauna :P

    The stone table outside has grooves in it. This would make it to be windmill grinding stone. Or it tries to look like one.

    • @sanreh
      @sanreh  2 года назад +1

      It is definitely original grinding stone. A lot of things around here are just reused vintage things, like the grinding stones. There were plenty of windmills here on the island.

    John 3:16-21
    16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
    18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
    19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
    20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
    21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
