Wild Guns is Cabal on crack - seriously. Mix that with all the best elements from Sunset Riders and you get one of the absolute top action games for the SNES.
This game is amazing. There's just so much stuff you can do - shoot bullets out of the air, throw back dynamite, dodge roll... It's a tough game for sure, but the options they give you to get through it are plentiful.
Probably the best game on the SNES, it's just such a rock solid arcade shooter. Tough, but never unfair, every attack that comes at you is heavily telegraphed so there's no cheap shots, just failing to keep up with the escalating action.
Outside of the powerhouse developers like Nintendo, Square, Capcom, and Konami, Natsume was one of the greatest of the era. They churned out good quality games with ease, and this was among their best.
I've been searching this game for a long time ago, but in a recent Discord chat with a friend, he mentioned this game and now I've finally found it!! Thank you so much Lou!
Wild Guns was set to be released in the third quarter of 1994 and was reviewed at the time, but the release was unexpectedly delayed until the third quarter of 1995 (the copyright says 1994).
it's my 3rd favorite snes game. easily one of the best snes games out there my top 5 are. Sunset Riders, Turtles in time, Wild guns, Ninja warriors, f-zero
Man, I usaed to play this game after school at my friend house all day. We were not that good tho lol. Brings back so much memories when i was a kid :(
I played this on NSO and kept getting my keister handed to me by the thugs with the knives that sidestep across the screen towards you since shooting them doesn’t seem to do anything. Didn’t even know there was a melee attack until now.
I let my one buddy borrow this game so he could play it and get good enough that we could do a full play through... he didn't like it. WTF?! Its probably the best nes shooter and top 10 overall!
@@BigStupidFingers Well it’s an old game, idk if I could even find enjoyment at this age playing it. Games are so damn advanced now that anything too simple will probably bore people. Different era. But it makes sense. It’s not like people are streaming Pac-Man or Centipede these days. Some things just have a lifespan sadly, except for those of us that enjoy the nostalgia.
ha this game is a trip. I have had its music in my play-list for years but only just now saw what it looked like. I wasn't expecting cowboy robots, but sure why not. It didn't come out long after Megaman 6 and Tin Star also had cowboy robots. They add more variety than regular cowboys and regular robots. I love that heat mirage effect when certain objects explode. I don't know that I have seen something like that in another 16 bit game.
This game is $250 in Louisville KY Book music exchange they are fucking crazy got this game on a 900 in 1 just about every game made in 1 including Europe and China not easy to play either fuck that robot
Pat the nes punk found that game on a flea market & the seller wanted $100 bucks for it however it was beated up from the sticker, if i where him i would totally buy it, seriously i need this game in my collection :/
Wild Guns was heavily influenced by Seibu Kaijatsu's Dynamite Duke, Fabtek's Blood Bros., Sega's House of the Dead, and Namco's Time Crisis during development. The space western setting was largely influenced by the space western manga Cobra. The screen shaking and mirage-like effects that occur after explosions were influenced by the 1993 film RoboCop 3.
My theory on the sega to genesis to nes to snes to playstation and maybe 2 is these games were made to figure it out and use timing and logic and other mental capacities to beat the game and this made better warriors for those on the streets and those in police and military and those in conbat sports. I mentioned the streets because where i grew up, you had to be tough and now at 46, nobody messes with me really, only the lame here and there who is so used to getting his bitt kicked that a few more scars and broken bones and joints isn't a big deal.
This game brings back so much memories when I was a kid
Joguei muito esse jogo na decada de 90 quando eu era criança também.🤝👍

I can't wait for the release of Wild Guns Reloaded in PlayStation 4
More than Cabal, it's Blood Bros. spiritual successor.
Just played this on the Switch online service. What a blast!
Right? I love this one!
ME TOO!(Spent some time and hours trying to beat it hard as hell!)
This game is amazing. There's just so much stuff you can do - shoot bullets out of the air, throw back dynamite, dodge roll... It's a tough game for sure, but the options they give you to get through it are plentiful.
Do you need the light gun to play this?

Agreed. Gotta add Hudson, Treasure, Rare and Namco to the fold, for the time.
Absolutely can't forget Taito either, they were really hitting on all cylinders around this time.

Absolutely my favorite game of all time! And Natsume is best developer! I love both versions of this game!
One of the best game i play in my childhood
Damn... I wish they made a movie based on this game.
The aesthetic is really cool.
I loved playing it when I was a kid.
Was having difficulty playing needed to play it cause inspiration came for a movie in the mind, good to see you were the source of that inspiration
This Is Always My Favorite ❤
An Old West cowboy with a fully automatic weapon fighting giant robots? Why not?
hey i like that idea for a super robot wars unit

This game was really good. To bad it was underated.
The tank boss was my favorite. I guess I just really liked the design of the tank and how cool it is to just fight a giant flamethrowing tank.
I am Clint the Invincible
I can’t believe you’ve done this

If I recall correctly, Natsume was the developer of the Power Rangers Nintendo games. No wonder that the instruments sounded so familiar.
That's hardly a bad thing, right? :)
Especially Hiroyuki Iwatsuki's powerhouse score!
I knew i wasn't crazy
This game is underrated
He's so accurate he didn't even need to use the rope to freeze enemies lol
Melhor jogo de tiroteio de super Nintendo que foi lançado
Eh saudade de jogar de novo esse jogo👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I have to play this game!
Miss this game

Estelle Getty, obviously!

How do you do the role in this game?
is the sound when clint beats the level 2 boss the beginning of the theme to the good the bad and the ugly sped up
That would be the extra life jingle, and yes, it is a sped up version of that song.
One of the best games on the SNES.
I like how this game labels normal guys in suits as "bosses"... but then once they're dead, you're pitted against a giant robot of some sort. :)
Ha-ha so true. I'd like to know what those suits are made up of though to soak up so much lead
Maybe they're using the word "boss" in the standard sense rather than the video game sense.
its the boss of that area/mini boss
Pls link how to dL
Best controls
The only thing bad about this game is that it’s never gotten the love it deserves
Just beat this on my switch recently. It wasn't easy
