California Screamin’ was also my first upside down coaster. I first rode it in early 2003, and to be honest, it scared me. I did not enjoy it one bit and was crying when I got off. I faintly remember seeing a commercial for California Adventure and being freaked out by the loop. My first visit to DCA was actually in the summer of 2002, but because my parents, brother and I had gone with scaredy cat relatives, I was able to get away with not riding. The next visit, I had no choice. When I went again a few months later for my birthday, it took me a couple more rides to warm up to it, but after that, I loved it. It was also a huge part of the original DCA that I visited as a teen, back when the Mickey ears were behind the loop and Dee Bradley Baker was the host. The music completed the experience. Like you said in the caption, while Incredicoaster has the exact same structure, the nostalgia isn’t there.
Favorite part about going to California Adventure was California Screamin. My first time was a fearing experience like you said as I watched the coasters fly all over paradise pier. Once I got on, I thought oh my god, what did I get myself into. But after the launch it was like flying colors and I wanted to ride it again and again and again. This attraction hits the emotions directly on the spot and I will forever remember the first "large" roller coaster that I've been on. Your connection to Screamin is like mine to the Matterhorn.
I cannot tell you how important this ride means to me. I've ridden it with my entire family and many of my friends, and they've all loved it. The memories I've made on this ride are timeless. One of the funniest memories I've had on this ride was when I went to DCA with two of my friends. One of them was scared, so he sat outside of the exit. The line was short, so we went to go into the queue. Right as we entered, a random guy gave us two free Fastpasses. He said he didn't need them, so we took them and rode the ride. Having a great time like usual, we wanted to ride again. We remembered that our friend was waiting at the exit, so we had to cover our faces as we walked past him. He didn't notice, and we hoped right back into line. ☺️
Reading your story put a big smile on my face. It’s really touching to see how people were affected by Screamin’ and reading about the memories they shared. One of the things I miss about the old Fastpasses was how you could give them away to someone if you weren’t going to use them. With the new system you can’t do that anymore and I think that’s a bummer. Thanks for sharing your story.
When he said it won't be gone forever I said to myself I hope it changes for a little while. I am not saying Pixar pier won't be good but I loved paradise pier
Although I never went on it (yes, I know, I’m a scaredy cat. I go every two years and I cannot go on it, out of absolute fear) but, always when I went past it, the music, the screaming, the laughter, made me smile. I wish I could go on it, but my anxiety takes over. When I was in paradise pier lines, I’d always look at California Screaming and watch my mom run off and ride it. It’s weird I know, I enjoy the ride even though I’ve never been on it.
Last time when I was in California Screamin it was Last Saturday the day before the last day it was cool and the line was really fast RIP California Screamin February 8, 2001-January 8, 2018 May the Roller Coaster live on
Omg this made me cry. I'm going to miss everything about this ride. I know they're not getting completely rid of it, but Im going to miss the theme so much. So long, Screamin 😭😭😭😭
WHAT!!!! I didn't know. I stopped to watch this video as fast as I could. This coaster was mine and my husband's favorite too. So sad to hear that they are changing it. I would have liked to go on it one more time. :(
wow... I must be really old now. California Adventure / California Screaming still feel like "new developments" to me haha The look/feel is like a hybrid between a wood coaster and SFMM's 1976 Revolution by Schwarzkopf, but it was built in 2001 by Intamin. Feels like yesterday. :)
aww man :( . 12/28/17 . i’m gonna remember this date forever . it’s the last time i ever got to be on “Screamin’” i was also personally attached to this ride . i was kinda emotional when i heard these news , alsoo this video made me tear up . i know this isn’t goodbye but still ima miss it . so it’s not a goodbye it’s a cya later alligator 😓❤️
This was emotional because i wanted to go on it so bad and when i got to the park im like lets go and then relized that it was closed i really wanted to ride so bad :'(
I wonder what it would of been like if incredicoaster was the first coaster theme then Pixar pier then will turn in to paradise pier it kinda sounds strange
I got to be on the last ever train on Sunday night. There was a huge crowd cheering and counting down our launch at the launch site. It was an experience I probably won't ever forget.
I am honestly so angry at Disney for taking Paradise Pier away. I literally grew up with it. I remember sitting with my mom and grandma looking over the pier at the Mickey head and the sun on Screamin and looking at the Paradise Pier sign. My mom is a single parent and used to take out student loans so that her and I could have a way to escape from life. I have pictures of me as a six year old leaning over and touching the fountain next to King Tritons Carousel. And when I was still getting over my first breakup I would walk underneath the tracks and listen to music while everyone was busy watching World of Color. It started with getting rid of the California sign in front of the park, then the revamping of soarin, and now Paradise Pier was the last straw. Just a few days ago when I was there I noticed the Paradise Pier sign on Screamin is no longer lit up. It sounds ridiculous but I immediately started sobbing. I'm so disappointed in where Disney is taking this both as a Disneyland die-hard and a proud Californian. I just hope they leave Grizzly Peak alone.
I loved this ride so much now I never wanna ride it again since it changed 😭 I knew on the last day I was gonna be the last one to ever ride screaming I wanted to be in history to be one of the last people to ride this beautiful creature ride we don’t know if we got to history but we know the ride did
I used to love watching that launch when my dad rode this coaster (I was never tall enough in 2016) I had one shot in 2017 I never came back (and I moved to Louisiana) I rode incredicoaster (that sucks)
I almost cried watching this. I remember riding twice the first time we visited DCA, once during the day, then again at night. This led to many trips to Magic Mountain and Knotts riding all the big ones. I was even lucky enough to ride the final train when California Screamin closed. This is one of the best tribute videos I’ve seen, it’s different from a typical ride through. Let’s try to be the first in line for the Incredicoaster!
One of my favorite things about Screamin’ is how it means something slightly different to everyone. Thank you for sharing your memories about the ride. I love hearing them. I can’t wait for summer when we get to ride it again!
Thank you for posting, Jake. I really appreciate it. You are absolutely right. This was the first legitimate roller coaster I went on and Disney cast members and my family helped me conquer my fear as well. This was an amazing ride and as you said it is not gone forever, just for now. I hope to see this attraction open up again in the future. :-)
Even though it still is going to have the same layout, I'm still going to miss this ride. It was my first big roller coaster and it gave me confidence to go on all the other rides at theme parks.
Couldn’t agree more. Screamin’ consistently delivered a great ride experience even after 17 years of operation. I’m looking forward to having the coaster back this summer.
I only got on this ONCE. I was too scared, but when I got on, it was fun! I feel bad for being such a baby before it closed. It was also my first upsidedown coaster. -first tot now this?-
RIP California Screamin. This was my favorite part of every Disneyland trip I have made and was my first upside down coaster as well. This ride will surely be missed in its original form
Why am I emotional, AND I NEVER RODE IT? Maybe that's it; that I never got to ride it in its screamin' form. The music. The countdowns. It will really suck to not ever be able to ride it as Screamin'.
As a huge fan of Disneyland and the Disney California Park, I’m feeling what you’re feeling, I remember being afraid of this roller coaster, to facing my fear of getting on it and absolutely loving it. Beautiful video man!
Just found your channel and LOVE it! your content is awesome!! I was able to ride screamin' once in 2015 but i just recently went to disneyland in march but wasn't able to ride since it was under refurbishment. Hopefully incredicoaster will live up to our expectations
i remeber the day it was my b-day and i was gonna go on Screm In but when i got there i was upset to see construction on the ride ON MY BIRTH DAY TO! D;
Word of advice for anyone about to watch this video...Do not Watch this at 3:30AM...unless you have tissues because you will cry!!!! Wonderful tribute Jake!!!!
Very good video. I go on guardians every time I go to Disney but I always try to do this one too but world of color always comes. I got to ride the day before it closes and got it in the night. Love it at night but I will be looking forward to the incredicoaster and Pixar Pier!
All I remember is me screaming the hole way and no not like other kids where at first there scared and they get used to it nah I was crying the hole way
Hey jake! Just wanted to say thanks again for everything you included in this video, even myself! For those of you that don't know I'm the cast member featured on the mic and checking restraints. I met jake on one of the last few days of operation. And it's def sad seeing it go, big thanks to jake for doin what he does and keeping the memory alive!
Thanks for letting me include you in the video Nick! I really appreciate what you guys do. Give the whole Screamin’ cast my best and hopefully we’ll see most of you for the opening of the Incredicoaster!
very nice video jake loved It sorry to see tha troller coaster go sorry tthats the way I felt aabout colossus at magic mountain I didn't want to see it go either
That’s theme parks for ya. Things are always being changed, shuffled around, or sometimes demolished. It’s a necessary cycle to keep things interesting though.
I almost got on California Screamin' once. But I'm not a fan of falling or huge roller coasters. But this one, I almost got to do the same thing I did when Tower of Terror closed: I rode it for the first time in my life on it's last day... Like you said, it's not goodbye, just so long for now
I hope Disney realizes naming it after a movie that will only be popular for a few months is a bad idea and decides to change it back but for now so long screamin'😓
I feel like they should revert it to screamin' when its 20th Anniversary (or what would have been) comes out, or at least reload the old voiceover, and music just because. It's an iconic coaster, but Man, Screamin' should come back for 20 years.
This ride is decent but honestly I don't love it. Good launch and a decent loop but the end of the ride is boring. You get no airtime on the hills near the end, and just do a bunch of random bank turns into the station. The first half is sooo good I'm always dissapointed by the ending

I’m watching in 2019 and they kept the track blue where the launch is to me that piece of track brings back memory’s
Omg this made me cry. I'm going to miss everything about this ride. I know they're not getting completely rid of it, but Im going to miss the theme so much. So long, Screamin 😭😭😭😭

Same was my first upside down
This was also my first looping launch coaster I EVER rode !!! Great memories.

This was my first upside down ride ever was like when I was 8
It was my 1st favorable 2 I've been of lot a lot of times like 30 since I was 3
My first loop
I wonder what it would of been like if incredicoaster was the first coaster theme then Pixar pier then will turn in to paradise pier it kinda sounds strange

That’s so awesome. What a bittersweet moment that must have been, especially since it’ll never happen again!

Rode it 3-4 times it was a fun roller coaster sad to see it go 😅
It’s ye boi Disney back at it with another refurbishment, and today we will be ruining everyone’s childhood
This was my first rollercoaster ever🤧 i can’t believe its gone
Also my first upside down roller coaster man I’m gonna miss it
I loved this ride so much now I never wanna ride it again since it changed 😭 I knew on the last day I was gonna be the last one to ever ride screaming I wanted to be in history to be one of the last people to ride this beautiful creature ride we don’t know if we got to history but we know the ride did

It was. I miss it a lot already.

Sammyland I rode it twice for the first time too on 6/6/2017 June 6th 2017
Same it was my 1st coaster that went upside down and this was the coaster that made me become a coaster enthusiast. Rip
Thank you for posting, Jake. I really appreciate it. You are absolutely right. This was an amazing ride and as you said it is not gone forever, just for now. I hope to see this attraction open up again in the future. :-)

That’s awesome, man! One of the many reasons I love this coaster.
The real Magic Cheeseburger sameeeeeeee
I been riding California screamin since 2002 i have the front seat on that roller coaster last year have a magical day today
Thanks Lauri, I hope you have a magical day as well. 🙂
I think it should race the cars ride over there
Couldn’t said it better my self (:(
this is an awesome video. i remember riding it 25 times in a day back a few summers ago. this was quality content, glad i subbed.
Screamin’ definitely was the perfect coaster to marathon. Thanks for subscribing!
3:51 wtf is wrong with that harness he go get some damn airtime XD
The first time I rode this I was with my cousins. I was fairy uncertain and scared but I rode it once and kept going on it again and again

I'm sad to see it go but 2018 is the year for new things I went on it with my girl scout troop for 2015
Rip 😢
California Screamin was my first upside down roller coaster
Aww I never got to ride it, that ride was closed when I went there long ago :(
No I was about to go on it on Sunday I was going to Disney on Sunday awww dang
Why am I emotional, AND I NEVER RODE IT? Maybe that's it; that I never got to ride it in its screamin' form. The music. The countdowns. It will really suck to not ever be able to ride it as Screamin'.

Same
One of the only things in DCA that hasn't really been changed. Sad to see it go but excited to see what Pixar Pier brings.
Definitely. Come back tomorrow for a whole video about Pixar Pier and the “why” behind it!
0:05 mine too!!
i remeber the day it was my b-day and i was gonna go on Screm In but when i got there i was upset to see construction on the ride ON MY BIRTH DAY TO! D;
Word of advice for anyone about to watch this video...Do not Watch this at 3:30AM...unless you have tissues because you will cry!!!! Wonderful tribute Jake!!!!
They already messed with tower of terror which was hard enough now this??? R.I.P SCREAMIN.....♡
I just got on it once before they took it out
I got the shirt from when tower Of Terror was closing but I wish i was there Screamins last day for the hat 💔
Is the actual ride staying the same? Like the tracks and stuff?
Very good video. I go on guardians every time I go to Disney but I always try to do this one too but world of color always comes. I got to ride the day before it closes and got it in the night. Love it at night but I will be looking forward to the incredicoaster and Pixar Pier!
Thanks! I’m glad you got to go on it one last time. Night rides were great on Screamin’. We’ll have to see how the Incredicoaster turns out.
Hey let’s start a fundraiser to screw quarantine and bring California Screamin back :)
All I remember is me screaming the hole way and no not like other kids where at first there scared and they get used to it nah I was crying the hole way
I regret not riding this :(
lol hangtime's theme

Awesome job Nick! :) You make the Disneyland experience so much better. I absolutely appreciate it when I go. It makes me have a better time.
Thank you, Nick! You helped make my firs and every ride on this coaster purely magical! You are the greatest! :-)
very nice video jake loved It sorry to see tha troller coaster go sorry tthats the way I felt aabout colossus at magic mountain I didn't want to see it go either
That’s theme parks for ya. Things are always being changed, shuffled around, or sometimes demolished. It’s a necessary cycle to keep things interesting though.
I feel like I've heard of you before. You're editing is superb, you deserve more subs. +1 :)
Thank you very much! 😃👍
How come when u look at the back of the ferries wheel it looks so ugly and the front looks nice
Do they have any rides like calfornia scremain at Knott's berry farm
They don’t have rides like California Screamin’ anywhere. It was truly one of a kind. 😢
I meant do they have the calfornia screamin mechains and turns or loops on rides at knott's
I only rode this twice when I was younger, don't really remember it well but I had fun!
I almost got on California Screamin' once. But I'm not a fan of falling or huge roller coasters. But this one, I almost got to do the same thing I did when Tower of Terror closed: I rode it for the first time in my life on it's last day... Like you said, it's not goodbye, just so long for now
I’m glad you were able to get that last ride in on Tower before it was rethemed to Guardians. I hope you get to experience the Incredicoaster too!
Great video!! California Screamin was also my first upside down rollercoaster.
Thanks! That’s really cool. This coaster is definitely significant for a lot of people.
Never got to go on Screamin because I'm British and to go to California it would cost £idk
It’s not coming back
Don't be sad guys incredicoaster is the same thing as this
Such a sad day to see it go 😓
You said it. 😞
Why did they have to replace it I mean what was wrong with it before did we really need an unnecessary change I miss the theme badly
This ride is decent but honestly I don't love it. Good launch and a decent loop but the end of the ride is boring. You get no airtime on the hills near the end, and just do a bunch of random bank turns into the station. The first half is sooo good I'm always dissapointed by the ending
Where'd you get the clear-ish Neil Patrick Harris audio?
All the audio is pulled from the footage I got. I think the countdown and other NPH dialogue was recorded at the launch observation platform, right where the trains come out.
AdventuresByJake is there any way you could send me it? This is the clearest i've heard and im working on a remake :)
Sure, are there any specific parts that you wanted? I only have bits and pieces and don’t have every combination of what he says as the Trains approach the launch.
AdventuresByJake As much as you've got :) thanks!!!!!!
AdventuresByJake can u send it to me too i am doing a recreation in mine craft
Hello I love screamin
Hello! Me too.
I like to scream too
You look like Connor McDavid
Will it be changed like Eurosat in Europapark?
In the sense that it is being rethemed, yes. The difference is while Eurosat is retaining its spaceflight theme, California Screamin’ will be changed to the Pixar film The Incredibles and will no longer be, well, California-themed.
AdventuresByJake Eurosat will have a french theme thats worse ;)
Oh. I see. Well in that case, yes, I suppose it is a similar transformation!
No Eurosat is getting entire new track and a slightly different layout California Screaming is just getting rethemed with the actual ride staying.
+1 sub
Thank you!
dude, you mix my favorite things Disney and humor
dude you mix my fav things disney and humor
Are u serious.. this is irritating the only fun rollarcoaster or ride in that park
Whyyyy! The incredicoster is garbage
As much as it will be sad to see it go, I honestly think incredicoaster will be better. It will be the same ride layout and track but with better theming and possibly better trains.
SpacemanDj5 but it won't have the awesome music
We’ll have to wait and see. The bones of the ride will be the same but it’ll never be Screamin’ again.
