    I love words! Sadly, though, I have a
    memory like a sieve.
    I had an awful education from five to sixteen years of age. I was slapped and strapped for the least thing and had every demeaning negative word shouted at me by pedagogues from hell. Consequently, I left their establishments broken and with zero confidence unable to cope in the big bad world. It took years for me to want to learn again and acquire confidence.I started to self-educate, which I am still doing to this day and have developed an appreciation for words and their definitions. You could say I am “ autodidact.”
    I love intensely Charlotte Bronte’s vocabulary and her choice of words in her stories...how SHE expresses herself. Superb writer, in my opinion.
    Again, I enjoyed your video and the way you put things across. Best wishes!

      Hi Aude. Thanks for your comment. I understand where you're coming from. In the example, the verb "help" is a causative verb, so either the base verb or infinitive construction works. (He helped us wash the car. / He helped us to wash the car.) 👍

    I already know 80% of these academic words and use them daily basis ; however, I didn’t know they are academic words (*dang*)
    I just learned those words from here to there (haha. Oh well, how can I distinguish which word is academic and which word is slang)
    Hmm,.. I think I should watch more of your videos;))
    Thank you and why I need academic words ? Umm,..

      Thanks for your comment. That's a great question. Both words are adjectives but have different meanings.. The word "social" is an adjective (can also be a noun) that has various meanings. It can refer to someone is who talkative and personable. It can also refer to a group of people. The word "societal" is also an adjective but it relates to society and it's changes. Hope this helps! 👍

    Wes,what does arbitrary mean,I am sorry for asking a lot of questions but your explanations are very explicit and simple.😅❤️❤️

    • @InteractiveEng
      @InteractiveEng  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks for commenting Fatima. That's a good question. If something is "arbitrary" it means there are no reasons for something being the way it is. For example, a company might have arbitrary rules as to what people can wear to work. The rules are random and without reason. 👍

    Those words seem pretty easy. I thought they would have really hard words on those tests. I read fiction books by this guy who writes words like orotund, feckless, lugubrious and more. I'm a native English speaker & have needed to look up every fancy word he's used.
