The Schatt & Morgan trademark was purchased by Gilbert Cooper out of Winchester Ohio. He purchased all the old machines at the Queen factory bankruptcy sale. Starting this year, He's going to be producing Schatt & Morgan branded knives.
Thanks. I was checking the trademark registry and it still had Daniels Family as the registrant. But you are correct, it lists the Coopers as last listed owner' I'm hearing now that they are going back in production for 2021. This is all good news. Here what the Trademark database lists: (REGISTRANT) Daniels Family Cutlery Corporation DBA Queen Cutlery Company CORPORATION PENNSYLVANIA 507 Chestnut Street Titusville PENNSYLVANIA 16354 (LAST LISTED OWNER) COOPER, GILBERT INDIVIDUAL UNITED STATES 10416 FRANCIS ROAD WINCHESTER OHIO 45697 (LAST LISTED OWNER) COOPER, DEBBIE INDIVIDUAL UNITED STATES 10416 FRANCIS ROAD WINCHESTER OHIO 45697
Well lookie at that big daddy toothpick. Congratulations on the find and purchase Tobias. I do agree with that worm jig, but it is still a good looking knife. Gets me tickled thinking about you opening that for the first time, bet it brought some smiles and grins indeed. Thanks again for the video and a great knife.
I really want to add a large toothpick to the collection. Thanks for the history of the brand. I am going to look for Schatt&Morgan and see what I can find. Great video!
Tobias great pick I just got another one for the collection!!!!! I said this year I’m going to concentrate on Schatt & Morgan knives!!!!!! My mind is telling me to go for it!!!!!!! Thanks now you have me more excited seeing your video!!!!!!! Congrats you’ll love it!!!!!!!
Rapidly changing my mind about large Toothpicks, that's a beauty loving the scales, not seen a wormgroove pattern before somewhat jealous Tobias, great addition to your collection.
That is a great looking large toothpick. I guess because I first heard Paddy mention Schatt and Morgan I thought it was a European maker. Nice to know it was PA. I had never heard of that steel. I assume it wasn't used a lot. Thanks for sharing this.
I've always liked the Schatt & Morgan File and Wire large toothpick, partly because the blade is ATS 34, a superior steel to most toothpick steel, and partly because of the way it's tested. I always thought that was a little badass. I'm glad to hear you say it's such high quality. Usually the scales are a much darker brown color. I like the color of the one you have.
Wow that is one great looking knife Tobias. I had to stop the video and go looking at other similar S&M's just to see what was out there. lol Thanks for a look at another beauty.
Great Review Tobias. Glad you bought it. I jhave a 5" S&M from 2002 HAwkeye Knife Collected "Bilboarded" Deeply engraved on the blade. Now I wish I bought the Daddy Toothpick. You got the review out which is a good thing.
Love it! A really nice toothpick for your collection! I don't own a Schatt & Morgan, but hopefully will one day. It is my understanding that Gilbert Cooper -- who is somehow connected to Blue Grass Cutlery (Winchester, Primble) -- owns the S & M trademark and will go into production sometime this year in Winchester, Ohio. I believe the knives will be produced on the same equipment used by Queen. (This is what I've read on a couple of online knife forums.)
@@jerseyknifeguy6382 Back in complete lockdown next week i think. Getting worse and worse. Much worse now than last year. Every body in France or England knows people who have died. Young or old. Sick or completely healthy, it changes nothing now. Take care my friends
The thing looks enormousness when open. But it is so light in the pocket and good slicer. And now I can buy a cheap steak cause this will slice through gristle like melted butter! And so you ask why buy cheap steak? So I can afford another Schatt & Morgan! LOL
The Schatt and Morgan's bolsters are just beautiful. Way nicer than the old Case 5 1/2 inch toothpick. It looks like quite a pocketful though. I really like the Case full size Copperlock (4 1/4 inch closed and 7 1/2 inch open) but it is simply itty-bitty in comparison with the Daddy Toorhpick. Your vudeo makes me want to try one even if it is a bit large in pocket. Thanks for sharing.
I don't have any toothpicks yet. American Old Timers. Barlow's, and Swiss Army knives are my current thing with a developing love for Sunfish/ Elephant Toes
Two years later but just can’t help myself.. the “S&M” logo etched on the blade and their wanting it to be called “Daddy” just begs for a spot for it on a Fun Knife Friday! :D
Beautiful knife. It's a shame that so many American made knife companies have gone the way of the buffalo in the last twenty years. It's unfortunate but too many people cry and moan about wanting to buy high quality US made knives but don't support the companies who are making them. I'd love to see Case make a large toothpick again.
Who’s your daddy? ;) Wow, that’s a big one and nice too! I’ve had good luck with the few S&Ms that have come my way. For a long time you could find NOS everywhere and reasonably priced too. Now not so much! I think they’ve been rediscovered lately. Interesting to learn about the file and wire testing -never knew! Thanks for sharing.👍
Apparently, Blue Grass Cutlery in Ohio is going to be producing S&M in the USA, once again. Same for the Winchester Brand. Thanks. The File & Wire info came from an Old Knives Live TV show. Steve Koontz, used to spew out knife trivia and I was busy taking notes!
Thank you for sharing a really fine looking Toothpick; is there any difference when someone calls some toothpicks. Texas Toothpicks and some call them Arkansas Toothpicks? You see fixed blade Daggers called Arkansas Toothpicks too.
I've always considered the Arkansas Toothpick a large doubled edged fixed blade knife, with a blade of around 10 inches in more. Texas Toothpick is a name Case seems to use and often applies to their small three inches (closed) toothpick. But yep, I've seen the large folding toothpicks called an Arkansas and Texas as well.
A great knife! I didn"t know about the File and Wire testing thank you for giving such indept information. I really enjoy learning more and more about the making and the materials used. What is your opinion on the steel ATS-34? why don"t they use it anymore? maybe to costly? Another thank you for the nice video!
I know this is at least the 2nd time that I have watched this Tobias beautiful Schatt and Morgan toothpick I just picked up a 1987 Winchester black box toothpick which is amazing I see why you like them so much the only other that I had I'm my collection is a case tiny toothpick pocket worn red bone I havnt measured the winchester it's around 4 in would that be considered as a large toothpick?
Thats a nice looking knife, the ringed bolsters give it a classy look. I ordered a bear hunter brand large toothpick on ebay because it was blue and I bid $12. Is bear hunter a Frost brand?
As always.. Great Review, whats your email address? Asking, as I have friends that run a Queen Cutlery Group on Facebook plus a bunch of Queen History Website Links bud! 😎
Wow!! That is a big toothpick!! It's a real beauty partner!! I really like few Schatt & Morgan knives I own, I wouldn't trade them for anything.

That is a nice worm groove..
A very nice Toothpick! That will be a good companion for your Winchester.
I do like the worm groove jigging!! Thanks for sharing Tobias!!
JB schatt and Morgan knives are the big hitters this year I just jumped on a whittler!!!!!!
Beautiful knife Tobias! I heard Schatt is starting up production in 2021, I can't wait!
Really like the covers,I have couple of S&Ms and one arriving tomorrow, nice to get other higher end brands in the collection. Atb paddy
Hi kitty, someday I will have a toothpick. Thanks for showing it to us.
I like the size of that knife...nice pattern and color aswell...nice catch to the collection
Toothpick... Beautiful one.
Wow! I don’t collect American knives, but this is the sort of thing I’d make an exception for! Just beautiful!
I am really digging that toothlick. Very nice.
Terrific Toothpick! It's on my wish list.
Tobias that toothpick is a real beauty.

Nice looking toothpick, good addition to your collection of toothpicks.Good review and thanks for sharing.
toothpicks are my favorite that one is a beauty
Nice example of quality in a JUMBO size knife, but I was surprised that it weight less than four oz. Very nice addition to your collection.
Tobias that's a good-looking cat you got there. Beautiful toothpick too.
Thanks. I'll pass along the compliment.
Looks like a really nice knife! Love the size of the behemoth!

Your going to be hooked now Tobias!!!!!! It only takes one ☝️
I really do hope someone picks up production for Schatt & Morgan. They have had some interesting patterns in the past.
Congrats on the new addition, thanks for sharing
Whoa - pretty knife. And huge (in an elegant way).
Rapidly changing my mind about large Toothpicks, that's a beauty loving the scales, not seen a wormgroove pattern before somewhat jealous Tobias, great addition to your collection.

I was looking into just what ATS-34. It's essentially the same as 154CM. Definitely nothing to sneeze at.
She's one beautiful toothpick, lovely to see the covers match your five inch toothpick 👍

Great looking toothpick. I have an old Gerber Easy Out in ATS-34 and it's a great steel.
Nice, I love large toothpicks, especially extra large! Haha
Definitely prefer the larger S&M wormgrove!
Thanks 👍
Great size on that knife, thanks for talking about the file and wire tests too!

I think you may be right Tobias. The fact that Case stopped making large toothpicks when Queen closed sounds too coincidental. Good thinking!
Hello Tobias. Very nice piece. Amazing how 1 inch makes it look so much bigger than the Queen. All the best.
My main man RHINO!!!!!!! Hope all is well bud!!!!!

I was wondering what file & wire meant. Thanks for the info. That's a lovely knife.
Could we please see more of kitty
Good looking knife. I’ve been searching around for a S&M knife. But haven’t decided witch one to try get yet.

That file n wire test really has to improve the QA. I always thought a carbide was needed to get that hard.

Hi Forrest Sir. Yes indeed Bear Hunter is a Jim Frost TM. He has well over 50 different Trademarks. I'm wondering who they will transfer to.

Just don't pick your teeth out with that thing Ha-ha-ha consult with your stomatologist first before using ;)
