I looked at a Pocket 3 and compared it to my Pocket 2 and decided not to upgrade, not because of the price but because to me the main advantage of a Pocket 2 or 1 over a phone on a gimbal was that they were discreet. To me the 3 reached a size, especially with the horizontal screen, when it was as obvious as just putting my iPhone 15 on a gimbal. With the pocket 2 I could walk around and very few people would notice. The Pocket 3 is obviously a better camera, but the 2 is good enough to shoot 4K videos at up to 60 fps for RUclips so it's still good enough. At night it does struggle a bit but just keep the frame rate lower and use 'High Quality' mode and it still does a good job, imo. Or I just use my iPhone 15 on a gimbal.
You mean it's good enough for all of the two videos, shorts no less, that you have on your channel? You may only have 1 subscriber but that's a loyal, diehard fan... Are you willing to risk upsetting your 1 subscriber by choosing a Pocket 2 instead of a Pocket 3? 😁😁 Just jokes man😆😆
It’s definitely easy to fall into the trap in wanting the latest and greatest. I’ve seen 5-7 year old GoPro footage that looks amazing yet a new one is always being released
totally... and it makes one suspicious. I am guilty, but also I know I have an old old 1MB Casio digital camera that works fine (although never use it) and I am amazed at the quality of images it takes. It totally look nearly as good as 45 MB images from my Sony.
I got the 3 and filmed a 2 week trek with it in Nepal. It worked great and looked great but there is one big problem (in my opinion) with the pocket 3. The 3 blurs out the background too much. When you are vlogging you can't really see the surroundings on it which is silly in my opinion. I think the 2 had just the correct balance which is why I've just re-purchased a pocket 2 for my next trip.
it's good that the new camera exists simply because if you lose or break your pocket 2 there is something to replace it with. i was kinda growing a bit anxious about my pocket 2 before the release of the 3. i think the 3 is phenomenal, but i'm not buying it either before my old one breaks, hopefully a long time. anything other than weight and minimum focusing distance, it seems to be an improvement. the pocket 3's footage can be spotted from a mile away, it has a very signature purple tint and overexposure by default. i don't think this is a bad thing, but it's a quirk of that camera. the pocket 2's footage however is difficult to pin down by looking at the footage for anyone other than someone who owned and used a pocket 2: it can easily fool you into thinking the footage is from a larger camera. i don't think the creator combo is a necessity, but a natural density filter is, and those aren't cheap for the new camera either. i'd personally choose no creator combo, just an nd 64 filter, and if the dual version of the wireless microphone they have (this wasn't yet available last i've checked, but that was months ago already)
Once my Pocket 2 kicks the bucket I will likely upgrade to the Pocket 3 as well. Without the combo too. There is nothing that really speaks to me in it. One exception might be the wide-angle-lens, but that can be bought separately later.
Just starting looking at the 2 and 3. Thanks for the information. I’m leaning towards the 2 due to cost and overall capabilities. Great 👍🏻comparison and what I needed.
Definitely agree! Although i love the upgrades and the new look of the 3, i just purchased a second hand pocket 2 instead. It was partly due to price as it was less than half the price, however i feel the quality upgrade just doesnt match the price increase! Cant wait to get mine, taking it on my trip next year to south korea and japan!
Thank you for a great insight into your time with the pocket 2, as it happens I've just purchased the pocket 2 over the pocket 3 price tag, I'm glad you still enjoy the little hand held 2, I'm hoping I'll get as much satisfaction as you, great video thanks for sharing 👏👏👍.
I have a DJI action 1 which gives excellent video when I go out walking, but the pocket 2 would be perfect as it's small and discrete, just what I want when using outdoors. As for the pocket 3, even if the video quality is better it's beyond what I can afford, so I'll be looking to buy the 2, as it's good enough for me.
I'm thinking of getting the pocket 2 because of your video..Thank you 😃 question tho? will I be able to download videos that I took on the pocket 2 ,to my phone ?
I just started a walking video channel and first time made a video on great light conditions and using pro mode with my own settings for the suitable weather. I watched the video on my 4k tv and was myself amazed how good the quality on the Pocket 2 is 😅.
I purchased my pocket 2 and after several months I decided to record a music video... I put a disc in and it recorded as an Apk which I can't use, then once I finally found the app for my phone, it says that there's no data? Hmm 🤔
@@reviewrattlesnakeActually I was thinking of purchasing one, so I'm getting some information. So are you sure you get 90 mins of battery life after recording in 4k 60 fps ??? I'll use this camera while hiking, and will only take footage in some part of the journey. So will it be okay if I get one , please let me know.

I'm a hobbyist and picked up the pocket 2 a couple weeks ago renewed. It's amazing and does everything i could even ask all at a fantastic price.
Bro can you please tell me
Does it blur background
Example
If I want to shoot bike cinematics then how does it work
Please tell 🤝🏻

I think you can use the DJI Mimo app for that.

This is a perfect use case for the little pocket 2.
loved this and it was all very helpful and rather not need to upgrade unless i cant live without a flip screen which i can
Im glad :)
I love my pocket 2 just for its size. ❤
Do you have? Pocket 2?

Thank YOU! :)
2:01 Half-Life 2 vibes right there xD
Eery, right? xD
@@reviewrattlesnake Pretty damn cool! 🤣👌🏻
Does DJI Record they have RUclips video could upload to transfer for the files?
what?
Highly agreed!!!
:)
Is this waterproof? I just purchase mine last week.
No, not at all. Keep it away from rain.
How to zoom?
There is a digital zoom only, you can use it by moving your finger up and down on the touchscreen.
what is the battery life of dji pocket 2
Around an hour to 90 minutes. I always have a small powerbank with me to charge it.
