The cornet is so soft but rich sounding. I love what you bring out of it. Not always do we want a high register lead trumpet screaming at us with no soul.
@@PauldeStexhe At 71 I want to relearn trumpet after 55 years. I told my instructor if I could produce the richness and color of your sound I would become enlightened 🙏
I had cancer 2.5 years ago, which affected the muscles in my face and so stopped me playing my cornet. Listening to this beautiful rendition has given me the courage to pick up my cornet again and re-learn how to play. Thankyou!
Love the sound, Paul. Before I let my wife know that I'm buying an nice (fairly expensive) cornet, I played this for her to let her know that the cornet is just different from the trumpet, and it's this sound and approach I want to strive for in my playing. She didn't bat an eye when I told her I NEED to get a cornet. Thanks for helping me make the sale! 🙂
@@PauldeStexhe Paul, I'm back for a second listen. Maybe MY ears were off on my first listen because you played very much in tune! And, surprisingly you didn't have to pull out your 3rd slide on the low D, but noticed that you pulled out the 1st slide on the mid D. And, BTW, I think you play beautifully. Are you lipping up/down for intoniation adjustments?

Uh, the soul part is troubling. Sorry for your experience. Strange comment…

this is a like and sub for me, can't wait for more.
What key is this played in?
Is that a Yamaha Neo or a Xeno?
No, Besson Sovereign
@@PauldeStexhe Oh yeah, very nice. Is it plated, or does it have a nickel finish?
@@tallakbertin Classic finish. Not plated.
Good playing, but your horn's so out of tune in some registers. 😞
Work in progress Sean ;)

@@FlowJunkie65 Maybe a bit but my first point of attention is the air flow, constant and hot.
@@PauldeStexhe Well, you play and sound really good, man! Keep up the great job, and I look forward to hearing more of your performances!
