My grandfather was a trumpeter for the Dutch Royal Navy. His trumpet has been passed on to me and I've been playing for a few months now. Starting this wonderfull instrument at 30 years old is a challenge but I love it. This piece hits home as my grandfather was arrested by the Nazi's during the war. He never talked about his experience but we do know he walked back from germany to Rotterdam. I hope to play this wonderfull piece someday to honor him, all the victim and the beauty that is the trumpet. Thanks for being an inspiration Andrea!
@@Outlawstar0198 Still going! Not gonna lie it's a challenge. Especially having to learn to read music, I did some of that in the past but now it really is a must. But it's also very rewarding. Getting a beautifull tone and/or nailing that difficult segment is much for fullfilling on the trumpet than it was on guiter, at least for me.
Le son d'une si b, si joué avec un souffle d'air constant, quel régale. Avec 2 amis à moi, on s'amusait à prendre une partition. L'un de nous prenait une trompette en Ut et à jouer exactement les mêmes pistons. Quand au troisième, il jouait du bugle ou du cornet, je ne sait plus. Parfait pour une harmonique respectée et originale à la fois.

This great historical wound is touched in this film. The Nazis destroyed everything that is Polish, Jewish, Gypsy and simply different ... Listening to this performance, it is impossible not to shed a tear 😢❤️. Worthy!

beauuutiful BUT i'd love to here the last two notes an octave higher. i personally think that just gives the ending a little more dramatic sadness. but other than that it was AWESOME!!!
