- This is a video tutorial showing how to get a raspberry pi running Raspbian Wheezy connected to Eduroam. It has been tested at the University of Southampton. It may work elsewhere too.
Thanks! For Raspbian Stretch (Kernel v3.9) you do not need to do the first steps. Go forth with "sudo nano /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf" . Also for Univ of Sheffield, the settings are:
network={
identity="xxxxx"
password="xxxxx"
eap=PEAP
ssid="eduroam"
phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2"
key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
pairwise=CCMP TKIP
}
Working at 09/01/18, cheers!
holy mother of Jesus, I pulled my hair off for like three days for this
This tutorial was a huge help. Thanks
This was really helpful and worked with no issues! Thanks
Thanks for your help, worked a treat! (Loughborough University)
It completely works!
Thanks a bunch!!!
Thank you from the University of Washington-Seattle Campus!
Worked like a charm. Saved me hours/days of frustration. (Utah State University, Logan)
Did you try that on Pi 3? Also, is it possible to do a SSH into pi using wifi?
Still works like a charm! Cheers :)
Works at the University of Waterloo (Canada), thank you very much!
Works at Lancaster University, UK - also has the GUI showing the working wifi symbol :)
It worked on BeagleBone black too with Vilnius University. Thank you.
Thank you very much
Thank you. It works great with RaspberryPi 3 (Raspbian 8 Jessie) for Inria account (University of Lorraine - France)). Just the parameter "phase2" in the "wpa_cupplicant.conf" file should be set to: "auth=PAP"
This is the easiest tutorial around, thank you very much! Would you mind if I translated it to Portuguese, using screenshots of your video? I'm from Brazil and there is no tutorial for connecting eduroam on RPi in Portuguese yet, so I suppose it would be really helpful. I'll make sure to credit you.
Thanks man! That video helped me a lot. Somehow when I did this, it said that there is no wifi device anymore. Then I reset the first file to the original one and somehow it works now. We'll see how long but if sbdy experiences the same difficulties you know what to do.
Obrigado!!!
Works with eduroam of University of Vienna. thx
the network gui, shows the working wifi symbol
Hey! I saw you were on remote desktop, I've got my laptop and the raspberry pi both connected to eduroam but I haven't been enable to access through the laptop to the Rpi could you help me out ? I'd really appreciate it. Cheers!
have you tried ssh?
Is there any way to do this on OSMC?
Does anyone know the modern/current way to connect Raspian on Raspberry Pi to eduroam?
If you can't get this to work with leafpad then trying instead using Mousepad.
Exact same in every way, just swap the word "leaf" for "mouse". e.g sudo mousepad
Works nice if you use "sudo leafpad" to open the editor, otherwise my "interface" wont save. Greetings from Eduroam Bremen Germany
Hey, this worked for me as the raspberry connects to the eduroam. However, the connection does not work properly.. So I can see in the corner that it connects but when I open internet nothing works. Anyone know how to solve this ? The eduroam network works on all my other devices.
THANK YOU SO MUUUUUCH
it worked for me i just had to change TLLS for LEAP EAP
Université Laval, Québec Canada
