  • I start off on kind of a rant about crosswalks. It all started from a text that my sister-in-law received saying the police will be cracking down on people who don't use crosswalks, in other words, jaywalking. The problem here, at least in our city, is that many scooters and cars do not stop even when people are standing on the crosswalk! I do understand that on streets where the speed limit is higher and drivers have a green light, walkers should observe the crossing signals which show a red or green "walking man."
Then I embed a true story from my youth about an Amish man knocking down a silo singlehandedly. Simply amazing!
At JC's place, we do some coffee taste testing. This week was POYA vs OKLAI. OKLAI wins! After the taste test, we get into our pet peeves about living in Taiwan. The first is air quality, which is actually ok in the summer here. On some days we can see the central island mountain range. It is debatable whether we can identify Jade Mountain from our location.
We get back into a discussion about the traffic situation here and exchange some scary sights and stories. Here is the source for the news we were talking about: www.taipeitime...
Lastly, we cover Jerry Jeff Walker's "Mr. Bojangles."

Thank you for your comment. Oh, you are the OKLAI barista! Did they give you a sponsorship?
