The t shirt colour you were wearing really suits you, you should knit something in that shade. Thanks for sharing, tell Mark the food looked delicious. The dolls for your friends were fab, what a great gift. I’m just knitting a Felix cardigan as a Christmas gift for my mother in law, just cast on a Maurice cowl for myself, and a few more wipes on the go too. Looking forward to your next podcast, enjoy the band and happy knitting 🧶 ❤
Lovely foggy landscape ... It happenned to me also once climbing Mount Mansfield in Eastern USA, but the fog was wonderful. Winds blowing clouds over the mountain tops, we couldn't see far but that experience of being in the clouds stays with me.
I would love to see the views from your walk another day Martyn. Please do it again for we viewers that adore Wales! The picture dolls are so lovely for your friends and Mark- that pavlova looked absolutely delicious x
Loved this video I always enjoy it when you take us out and about! It’s great to see the UK countryside. Loved Mark’s pav!! Awesome to see the kids playing with your toys too. Oooh Emily in Paris. Must catch up with that too. Loved all of this one!! Great job with your hike!! Great to see you both looking so fit and well xx
Oh it was fun to see everyone and the kids enjoying the critters. It's lovely. Your hike looked like a good one too. You're getting so fit - good for you. Best.
When you said that you "forget" what's close to you, it reminded me that I live about a 45-50 minute drive (depending on traffic) to Yosemite!! A bit longer to the Sequoias. 2-2.5 hours from the Pacific coast!! Heck, 4-5 hours to Disneyland (again, it all depends on traffic). 🤷🏻♀️ I'm constantly thinking there's nothing to do!! Ok, nothing that isn't expensive. 😉 🤣😂🤣 I really need to break out my WKMKAL....sigh.
Thanks for sharing your weekend. It looks like you all had a lovely time and that pavlova looks scrumptious. I’m also looking forward again to another SWMKAL 😊
Such a beautiful walking path up to what would have been an amazing view I am sure. Loved seeing the wandering sheep. I can only recommend hike in the US especially the mountains of Colorado. It will take a plane flight. Maybe one day! Great progress on your 2023 MKAL! I am excited for you to finish before the next one drops! 2 in 1 year is an accomplishment. I am re-starting a pair of socks. Frogged them at 3/4 done. Forgot to check my gauge! 😢😱🤦🏽♀️ 3 items currently on the needles and hoping to get one off the needles soon…but completed as a finished object rather than frogged and incomplete! Happy crafting. 🎉
Perfect timing for this video as I’ve come home to mums for dinner and we always watch you together. Only moved out less than a month ago 😅 Great vid as always ❤
Mark! Granola bars!!!! Recipe please …… video please 🙏 thank you. Well done on the hike good fun 😅 dolls absolutely amazing. I love knitting, crochet, sewing, patchwork and hiking long …. distance my new fav 😍
Hi Martyn, what a spectacular and unit gift for the very happy couple. Isn't it so cool we can do that. My daughter and her husband did the Three Peaks Challenge earlier this year. Well it was two and a bit for them, but so proud of them and they raised £300+ for a local children's hospice. Working on a Kitty bag for our youngest granddaughter. She was three a week or so ago. Bought her a sandpit, but we didn't see her. So a new bag with some treats is a must. Trying to decide what to get for her big brother, our eldest grandchildren, who will be 14 in September. No idea, so going to have to ask for hints. Have a lovely week and enjoy your time off. xxJane 🐑🌼
Hi Martyn. I love your videos. Congrats on the climb and it was fun to see a sheep in the background. My most recent finished object is the Double Gradient Boomerang. It's a shawl pattern, but I got bored so mine is a scarf. I'm going to resume my second Bluebird Scarf wip today. If I'm diligent, I can get close to finishing the knitting on that. It's going to be 110 F outside today, so I've already walked my dogs, Frankie (spayed female dachshund x Manchester terrier) and Madmartigan (intact male parti standard poodle). I'm nearly done with an embroidery kit project as well that is to be a gift for a friend I'll visit in October. It's possible I'll get that knocked out today, too. Have a great week! See you in your next video.
Great fun-filled video Martyn, thanks for sharing it all. Well done for bagging Pen-y-fan, it's a real beauty. Me & hubby used to walk up Pen-y-fan every Boxing Day morning....the wonderful Gurkkhas from the Brecon barracks would RUN to the top carrying packs almost my body weight! Neither of us is quite fit enough any more but it was a real treat accompanying you guys by way of video, thanks hugely. Congratulations to Rich & Scott on their engagement, your gift is beautiful and so unique, very thoughtful and clever. Mark: your pavlova is to die for, all best wishes to you both, Helen xx
Thank you Martyn for sharing your weekend with us! Mist and rain and all! It was SO fun to see how big the kids have gotten! And Loki is as sweet as ever! 😇well done on your progress!! Now I just have to patiently wait for next week 😉. I’m off to work on socks…..(again/still)
Thought we might have seen some "extreme knitting" up the mountain, but I can see why that didn't happen, nice to see the tribe though. And the pavlova! seriously gorgeous!
I keep meaning to start Slipstravaganza after the MKAL & then I fall in love with the HKAL. Now I want to make a sweater as well. Maybe I will start Slipstravaganza if I don’t like those year’s HKAL. Your MKAL is coming along quite well. I like that section. The border took me less time than I thought it would. I could get 1 stripe if the last section done in 2 evenings after work. The 4 stockinette rows one night and the dip & purl rows the next night. I did one complete stripe on a weekend day. The 7 stripes took me less than 2 weeks.
Hi Martin and mark. I play tenor horn for a brass band also and knit and crochet and sew. Mark makes wonderful food and bakes. Bless him. Lovely podcast. Di uk
It is easy to forget what you have on your door step sometimes. But always an adventure when you take advantage of it. Martyn: some weeks there is some, some weeks alot. Me: some months there is nothing, some months there is everything. Peak district and North Wales has lots of options. You can also get books so you can mark off the hills/mountains you climb. Which is fun.
Wow the older girls have grown so much....fantastic weekend I'm working on a tee shirt for a friend who turns 58 next week and a blanket for my bed can't wait till vlogtober and mkal starts❤❤❤
Hi Martyn great vloggy video loved it Yarm is in North Yorkshire! ( quite a way from Sheffield about 90 miles further north in fact) I was born very near there in Middlesbrough Loved seeing the kids and that the Toft Toys getting played with Lots of love look forward to. Your vlogs every week xx
What talent and kindness you have in giving such a gift. Beautiful loving family. Such is how this should be!! Love your content. Always look forward to your videos. Best of luck with the band! Speaking of the MKAL is there any way to contact you to ask advice on a part of it. I don’t know any knitters to ask and I saw you did the part in the first one you did. Thank you for all you do. Jasmine
Great little video, I do love all your content so always check in with your videos. I’m currently working between a WYS pattern also by Sarah Hatton, it’s the Sweetheart Raglan Dress for my niece in the Bo peep 4ply, then I am making the Starflanket by Stephen West…just got to the Brioche section - my first taste of Brioche!!! Wish me luck 😂
Sugar Loaf isn't too far from you. And Blorenge. And Skirrid. Or all three in one day. I don't think they will be as crowded as Pen Y Fan 🤔. We'll find out 😁
I am curious how gay couples know which one is the proposer/proposee (congrats 🎉) because of men traditionally being the ones to pop the question? 💍 Lovely vlog as always ❤
What a lovely gift you've made for your friends! Even in the clouds the view was beautful. Hope you'll show other walks, love seeing welsh nature!
I loved this video. Any content from you is delightful. A little knitting every day is a great philosophy! ❤

You should get Mark to share his recipes - would love that pavlova and the granola bars as I don’t like nuts and agree it’s hard to find ones without.
Wow, nearly 10k followers.
I remember when you were looking forward to 500 🥰
Well done
Thought we might have seen some "extreme knitting" up the mountain, but I can see why that didn't happen, nice to see the tribe though. And the pavlova! seriously gorgeous!
I did suggest I took my knitting and they all laughed at me haha! Definitely doing it again and sneaking a little sock project for next time!
That was fun! 🤩
Thanks for a video great progress on your wips

My holiday is over next Monday. Boo hiss!
Can you believe that September and the MKAL kit reveal is just around the corner????
but if you do dolls for engagement you've really raised the bar for the wedding gift😮

I loved seeing all of those Toft toys scattered around the floor. And…what kind of coffee do you drink? It always looks so delicious.
Great video! The loop stitch scares me! I tried to make a small Morag and gave up! I need to pick it back up and give it another shot.
Sugar Loaf isn't too far from you. And Blorenge. And Skirrid. Or all three in one day. I don't think they will be as crowded as Pen Y Fan 🤔. We'll find out 😁
Anywhere in Wales is good to walk. Great Orme, Llandudno, Snowdon, Anglesey coast path.
Please share the granola bar recipe ❤
I love the colours in your MKAL. Why not crochet the border to tie in the crochet centre. It will go quicker too. I did the crochet border.
Where did the kids eat? I saw 8 places at the table, which I think was the adults.
I am curious how gay couples know which one is the proposer/proposee (congrats 🎉) because of men traditionally being the ones to pop the question? 💍
Lovely vlog as always ❤
Does Mark craft?
Love the gift for your friends. Thank you for sharing you adventures and the raccoon is cute. Have a great week ❤❤❤
