    I clicked on your video because I recognized your name from browsing ravelry. I love rambling videos from designers sharing their process and thoughts on their own designs. Your work is beautiful ! Do not apologize for showcasing it.

    This was great. I love your use of non hand-dyed yarns because, while I love them for smaller projects I’ve never cared for the look of them used in larger garments like sweaters. I know they’re popular and have their place, but it’s lovely seeing different styles from designers. I love me a good sheepy wool sweater. 😄

    SO excited for the Sennen sweater! It is everything I love in a sweater, so beautiful!
    Also, I say don't feel self conscious about talking about your own patterns/work! I love hearing designers talk about their design process and showing what has worked and what hasn't. If anybody feels that they're being "advertised" to, then that's on them I feel!

    Your podcast was enjoyable and informative. Also, your fast talking held my attention. My brain tends to wander so I am more in tune with faster speech patterns. Being in the United States, your yarn choices are very interesting. Some of them I can purchase at The Woolly Thistle, which is great! I do hope to see another podcast from you! I appreciate all the work and effort that goes into one of these episodes so thank you for your time.

    Hi - I didn't know about your podcast first time around. In fact, two years ago, I wasn't even aware that there was such a thing as a knitting podcast until Kutovakika popped up in my feed for some reason. Now of course, I'm completely addicted and learning a huge amount. Please do make more - you have a lovely chatty style and it's so interesting to hear about what you are planning as well as what you have on the needles. I like the idea of a week in the life of a knitwear designer very much 😊

    Delighted to have found this and met you. Love the Camden top. One of my daughters lives just up the road in Primrose Hill. Thinking I’ll knit one. I live in Australia so spring should be here soon. I think that the hand dyed Suri with the grey lightly speckled yarn looks so good. Enjoy knitting with it.

    Thank you so much. I truly enjoyed sitting and knitting with you today, particularly as we live in small town where I don't now anyone who is kntiting these days. (One has stopped due to age and physical challenges, and the other is too busy babysitting her grandchildren!) Watching yur podcast was very much like sitting with a friend. While I probably am 35 or more years older than you are, we think alike. Can't wait to see more videos. I recently purchased the Farjham Tee pattern, but if it takes me too long get a few WIPs off the needles, I'll do the sweater instead which makes more sense as it's in my go-to gauge for yarns I enjoy knitting with and enjoy wearing.

    Congratulations on your engagement/upcoming wedding! That's so lovely you're knitting for your partner - my husband (boyfriend at the time) wanted a beanie and it took me 2 years to get around to doing it. He promptly felted it because he's a bit of a clean freak. I have only just made him his second beanie (we have been together for 13 years now) ...I have just ordered yarn for a colourwork jumper/maybe cardigan to be steeked on his request, but I suspect the yarn might be too prickly for me and end up being worn by me anyway 😂 welcome back to RUclips, happy to see your videos, I don't mind just watching you talk about your patterns!

    Sophie! I'm so glad I founs your channel here and hope you carry on with the videos😍 I follow you on instagram and love your designs and the way you write patterns, so complete and informative! In fact thanks to your writing style I made the Crescendo Cami as my first lace knitting pattern last year and the Haze sweater as my first colorwork sweater this past winter. I just know that your patterns will hold my hand so no new knitting technique is scary anymore! I also applied for the Sennen Sweater testknit cause I'm such a fan of this design😍❤️

    A video about how to get started (or how you got started and what you would do the same or differently) would be super helpful and interesting to me right now as I have a first idea for my very own knitwear pattern. As of today, I'll only be able to publish it as a "one size fits many" (in an open kimono jacket), so any advice on how to create a size range would be amazing!

    If you could leave the text written a little bit longer on the screen next time, that'd be lovely. English not being my mother tongue, I'm a slow reader 😅

    I totally agree that podcasts that mostly consist of people talking about the yarns they make or the patterns they design or their online stores tend to feel like an extended commercial. I tend to unsubscribe to most of these.

    • @the_knit_purl_girl
      @the_knit_purl_girl  27 дней назад

      Yes, I think it's a really tough balance to strike - especially if you start producing your own patterns after having podcasted "normally" for a while, if that makes sense? I definitely see how one could find it a bit off-putting. I'm hoping to be able to talk generally about yarn, the design process, and different construction methods with my podcasts going forward as I don't want to produce one big ad! We'll see :) Thanks for watching!

    No need to be self-conscious about being on video. You look lovely, speak well and have interesting things to say. And you've had thousands of views 😃
    But you could perhaps try to edit the video a bit better - the section labeled 'Body Shaping' was in fact all about wool you'd bought. Let us know at the start exactly what you plan to talk about, and make sure the chapters are properly labeled. Look forward to seeing more videos in future!
