Thank you. Pink energy was mismanaged and horrible. No wonder they went out of business. Having trouble with our batteries charging. Waiting for generac to have a different company covering warranty to come and fix it.
Just to clarify, Generac SnapRS may not be required on all installations, depends on your location and NEC70 Code adoption, ie 2014-2017-220-2023. I agree with your frustration, as I’m a trained Generac CE Service and Installation Technician. I don’t place blame with any Company, my job is to make units perform as expected, and insure customer satisfaction. Whatever it takes, period. No excuses.
Thank you for the comment. Since getting all of my snaps replaced with the new ones, the system is working as expected. Generac had another company work on my panels after Pink went out of business and honored thier warranty.
Pink aka Powerhome went out of business. We went out to one of their customers in Ellijay GA because they needed the SnapRS 801s replaced with the new SnapRS 802s. Generac reimbursed us making it so we didn't have to charge the customer too much while supplying us with the parts. I would advise any Generac customer to find a Generac PWRCell certified installer in their area and have them come on out a replace them. Generac has had additional recalls, though Generac refuses to call them a "recall", on the inverter power cords, battery internal fans, and also on the ATS control boards. Generac should be able to look up your system to see if it is affected by any of these recalls using the serial numbers, so you can advise your new contractor of the exact problem eliminating additional charges for troubleshooting. It does suck to have to pay an additional $300-$500 out of pocket but to have your system running to insure the ROI, then it is totally worth it. Also, the Snaps count has to match the panel count, per GA State law. If there is not a Snap per panel, it would never pass the electrical inspection completed by your power company. Generac produces an RMA claim via email that has the number of Snaps and this should be shared with the customer so they can add it to their warranty package for proof of replacement and additional warranty coverage. ☀
Very informative video. Sorry you are having all these issues. When we installed Tesla Solar we had a few issues that took awhile to resolve. One thing to note is if you are back feeding to the grid make sure you have a bi-directional meter installed before you turn on your solar. Without having a bi-directional meter you will still feed the grid but the meter won’t know the flow of the power. So for every KW you put back into the grid you will actually be charged as if you used that KW. We learnt that the hard way, luckily it was only for 2 weeks. Also, I’m looking forward to an update on your issue.

Thank You for posting this video. I have been experiencing the exact same issue with my RS Snaps. I have been having PV link errors since March. Tech crew came out one time in April and replaced a few snaps. Just as you said, a few weeks later the remainder of the snaps went bad and I have been out of service for those PV Links ever since while I am still waiting for another service call. I am certain they are taking care of all the customers who are making them pay for their solar loans until they fix it. Sounds like that needs to be my next step in effort to get them to my property quicker to solve the issues. They are very backed up so I definitely recommend understanding exactly the scope before they arrive and even call 1 or 2 days before your appointment to verify they have all parts and equipment and ensure they will arrive on schedule. You don't want to get put back in line for another appointment. I also have the backup battery which has recently errored out. Generac support informed me that they will not be able to help with the battery issue until the PV Link errors are fixed. What a mess!!

I’m just trying to learn my system to fix it myself do you have any info on rebus communication error and how to test/fix there are to many terrible company’s out there that just take your money when it comes to solar. Generac is just as bad as pink energy was. I have had to wait 6 months for a repair and now they have taken away prwview web access so we can't monitor our own system. was told on the phone to just use the phone app which doesn't show all the information needed to make sure the system is working properly. my system hasn't worked properly from day 1. I regret ever having put solar on my home. im not saving any money because it doesn't work. I need to know how to force them to fix the system properly.
Pink Energy is horrible! Thankfully I believe I’ve finally gotten Generac to accept responsibility, but even though Pink says they are “working diligently with customers and Generac to resolve these errors”, they’re simply saying “I refuse to help you, go deal with Generac”. I hope the eventual class action lawsuit brings Pink to ashes!
