I have a RM 2 and I will buy this one, because it solves my main problem with the RM 2: I use to read scientific articles. But scientific articles have very colorful plots that at the moment I am seeing as shades of grey. So sometimes I need to go back to the computer and see the graph in colour.
Lol good luck! Have you seen how the refreshing is?
I hate sponsored reviews because I always miss when they say it’s sponsored in the video. But I can always tell when I’m being sold to after a while. The over reactions to little things. Get your money of course. I just wish I would catch that I’m watching a giant ad before I waste my time. Or at least make it feel less like an ad when reviewing.
I mean I think it was tastefully done here. The 1st 3 seconds of the video clearly states that it's a sponsored video and the text is put dead center in the middle in big bolded letters. With that being said, there are a lot of RUclips videos, especially shorts where some (not all) tech RUclipsrs try to conceal their intentions. Unbox Therapy for example has gotten REALLY REALLY bad
The open your eyes next time i guess😂
@@russellchung3119 idk that cringe worthy look he does at the 3:40 mark kills the video for me. Looks to fake
Ordered mine paper pro in like 2 minutes without even reading anything about it. Been waiting for this release since 3 years 😅
A feature that would be nice (that would work with the 2) is having a secure AREA in addition to the initial device security. It's like letting someone into your house, but having your bedroom locked. 'Sure, you can come in, but this area is still off limits.' Could you please pass this idea along to the good people of reMarkable?
Quality is beyond on point with this video. Excellent work as always! Been wanting to pick up a Remarkable tablet so this may be the one
Only 8 likes let me fix that
Subscription model is wild at this price point
Never needed a subscription with mine. It’s completely upto you!
I use my Remarkable 2 every single day. It's one of the best pieces of technology I own.
Me too! But the price of the RM2 was already outrageous.
@@oakacc952 You think so? Considering how much it adds to your working capability I get why it's worth it. Although, saying that - it did take me eighteen months to finally be able to afford one!
@@oakacc952I have the R2 love it! But its true its still very expensive for such a niche product.. it will never effectively replace real paper. The new one cost even more..
Same here. At this point it feels weird, when after tapping once with two fingers on normal paper, nothing happens.😂
I hope this will replace notebooks and even textbooks one day so the poor kids don't have to lug around 20lb to books in their school bag
The price will never allow that
I hope those kids dont have epilesy cause this kind of display flashes like crazy 😂 Its meant for signage not for tablets...
Nah, schools are banning backpacks.
@@whiteglitchno it doesn’t. They are fine
I gave my son a scribe and wish he could use it at school. No idea why kids are still having to use all these notebooks and books still. Most of these companies charge too much for schools probably but Amazon could afford to have a school discount program.
was waiting for this. But expected it in 3 to 10 years. That made my day :)
Shoutout to the video editor, this is an amazing quality. Also, the shots taken are exquisite as well. Awesome video.
Such a great piece of technology. I only type things, I rarely write, but if I did, I’d be all over this
drawing and writing schemes is difficult on computer. Plus I remember what I write more than what I type.
I own the 2 and love love love love love it. Like 2 years later I am still amazed when I use it. But not sure I'd need color. So while this is tempting, not sure anyone needs it except like people who need color.
I own the remarkable 2. It is truly a wonderful piece of technology to take notes. Better than the Apple iPad. The back light is very much needed and is the reason why I'm purchasing the Paper Pro.
Me too!, I have the reMarkable 2, but I will now be getting the reMarkable Pro.
I would love to hear your feedback once you actually get your hands on it! Me personally, I think the price is waaayyy too steep at the moment, but I wouldn't be opposed to buying one in the near future if they have a discount or some type of deal. I like the idea of the tablet being nothing more than a premium notebook that can be used for note taking, reading, and sketching (without having to lug around multiple notebooks).
It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on this as I know you use the Remarkable 2 a lot.
This is an amazing concept and something I hope the world adopts to cut down on paper waste; the only downside is the price. You can buy A LOT of regular notebooks for that price. If they can get the price down to a realistic gifting price for students in your life I'm on board
Got mine ordered immediately this morning after the video, cannot wait for it to arrive 🙌. My rm2 has been a godsend
How come you don't review the other Etablets such as supernote, Boox etc
They don’t pay him enough to advertise their product.
@@samdahrooge5847 pretty sure he first got a reMarkable as a gift from his family/friends cause they know how much he prefers writing. Don't think it was ever a category he covered before that. The company probably saw an opportunity and welcomed him
@@samdahrooge5847 also paid promotions are required to be disclosed
@@samdahrooge5847💯💯💯
@samdahrooge5847 a joke? I mean I hope that's not the case,
their branding is so elegant and simple
New e-ink milestone with first actually working Gallery 3 screen (using proprietary drivers)
So weird that all the tech reviewers are all reviewing the exact same thing. $650 and a subscription model. Times can’t be that hard that you’d sell out your fan base
I have the remarkable 2, and thought the same thing prior. However, I have been using mine just fine without the subscription and have never felt I was missing out on functionality. They also have a generous 100 day trial period if you buy from them.
They all been reviewing the same thing . Next month they all will be reviewing iPhones all at the same time
This is a good buy and many people would love to buy this product. All around great review!
Hello, my friend!
This is my first time on your channel
I have the reM2 - love it! Most excited about the lighting, even more than the color (which I love)
What kind of offer are they making for existing customers?
Nothing
@@UrAveragePlayer0 As someone who gets his email read by them, this might be something worth mentioning. There is no incentive for existing clients to get the new product.
If on the other hand, we were grandfathered into the new product with existing terms, it would make purchasing the reM Pro enticing.
@@Ace_Of_Bace Color and size is the incentive
Whoever came up with this idea, kudos to that person, I want to buy one for myself, this is very handy tbh
Came for the reMarkable Pro, stayed for the HOW DOES JUD JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER WITH AGE, MAN.
But seriously, great video as always. Keep it up team!
Finally color! As a long time iPad user, I bought the remarkable2 a while ago. Love my remarkable2…tempted to buy this for sure.
I really love the idea of ReMarkable tablets but as a student I need my iPad for a lot of things and I just can’t justify buying and bringing this around in my bag when I’d have to bring my iPad too everywhere anyways
The burning question for me ... does it have a word count feature?
The most important question that needs an answer is that is the new version faster than the Remarkable 2? Navigating between a document and the main view and inside the folders is just too slow, so I mostly just add pages to one document and never archive anything.
AT LAST - COLOR and a BACKLIGHT! Great review, nice to see it in a demo too! This review helped with my decision to get one myself! 🙌✍
The chief design guy looks like the guy from the real engineering RUclips channel
Considering buying this but already have an iPad Pro. For those that use both these devices regularly can you share how you use them differently day to day ? Much appreciated
Why would any student carry this around over a more versatile tablet with better software (like OneNote)?
Heck yes. The remarkable is WAY better than a tablet with One Note. First - OneNote is "ok" but not great. If you goal is to just take notes - then the experience of writing is what is key - and the remarkable is a zillion times better to phsyically write on. It is magical. I've owned 2 years and still damn magical. I don't really use any note taking features per se. I just write notes like you would in a paper binder. So I dont know what special note taking software they have. But if you just want to write notes like you would in a binder - remarkable is the ONLY way to go.
great product but the price is ridiculous
Adding everything will bring the price close to 1000.00 US
man I've been waiting for the version of this thing that is good enough... this might be it
Man i wish this game out at the beginning of college. would have been super useful
It's crazy there was legit no news about a new tablet coming out until it did
what an inside scoop on a new tech product! so cool!
FYI: The backlight actually is a frontlight... 😉
We will need to talk! I would love to delve deeper into the idea of having an infinite number of notebooks. I ask reMarkable to invite to do a product review sometime. I mean, I totally love using paper as well as digital. So, "digital paper" is not new to me. I and equally a writer and an artist-illustrator so reMarkable Pro is very intriguing.
I love remarkable pro, I had two so far, I had issue with the power button however, it refuse to power up and tried everything and couldn't find anything online to resolve the issue so I had to get another...."just be careful with that small power button"
really? for a 600 bucks not very impressive😏 Combining it with no evening reddish backlight and the annoying paid cloud subscription are a no deal breaker for me...Ill stick with my good remarkable 1 for now...Next my device will be most probably Boox 😎
Makes me wish I needed this
Can’t wait to get mine! The only thing I don’t like is how they make it seem like they created the display when it’s actually an e ink gallery 3 model display
Damn, it's so tempting to upgrade just for the colored screen
Looks great.not sure if it has a mic for speech to text.
Looking so forward for mine to show up.
i bought a remarkle 2 last bloody week!!!
Love the size and how it's optimised for writing, but there's another part of me thinking it's a little too big for reading, e.g., manga and research papers (can be a little overwhelming). Kindle scribe is as close to the 'perfect' size for my usage and more price friendly (especially when it comes to pen tip replacemenst) and no charging needed.
Did they also just increase the price of the Rm2 compared to what it would have been to buy the tablet and marker separately a few months ago? Without upgrading anything?
I was hoping they would be updating the reMarkable and they did. Looks like I will be getting one.
I think Apple is going to acquire reMarkable in the near future.
Finally a product of this size in color. Until now only the Chinese have made it in color. They have a monopoly. The price is a bit high for me but the Chinese products are more expensive. Here we have a European product. Now I'm waiting for a Kindle scribe in color for less than 500$
It’s nearly as heavy as an iPad Pro 13”, So I’d prefer that.
Question for the community: how many of you want something like a reMarkable, but in a more compact A5 notepad size? reMarkable's line of products are exciting, but I've found myself gravitating towards smaller notepads when I want to jump down the hall for an impromptu meeting in someone's office. Writing while on the go or in cramped spaces (i.e. plane or car) makes a full letter-size notepad or e-ink device feel like it's a bit much. In other words... reMarkable Mini or reMarkable Note Pro? Something like that.
The idea is pretty good, but they need to find a way to make it cheaper because even for US, 579 dollars seems to be really expensive. And just to make myself clear, I am not saying do not worthy, because anyone would spend a lot of money with notebooks and won't have their notes on cloud.
If for US can be considered expensive, imagine for other countries as Brazil for example
I will only believe until I get paper-cuts from remarkable ;)
Can you do a video on phone live streaming setup/gears etc? 😁
Can u make another Deadpooo gaming setup for the new movie? Also cuz the last one was 6 years ago...
Speaking of fidget spinners, how’s the durability? I’d love to be able to fiddle and fidget around with it without worry.
Austin evan was also sponsored with the same company and was talking about it, if your product is good you don’t need to pay youtubers a bunch of money to praise your product.
It's a paid ad, with your same logic it's like saying any commercial on tv Nike, fast food, insurance, cosmetics, cars, products are not good. If you're not sold on the product it has nothing to do with the marketing department using RUclipsrs to sell the product
I love it. Great review.
What is that thing at 7"00 where you insert the Pen?? Thought the RM Pen didnt have to be charged
Seriously? 9:20 and you didn't show the page speed of turning pages in a PDF?!
Turning speed is decent, faster than turning a piece of paper
@@MonkeFlex I'd like to see a video of the page turn. The Gallery3 panel is known for it's really long page turns.
Great unboxing - thanks for the video. Do you have the weight with the book folio vs the type folio?
love unboxing
omg feels like a sponsored video 🤣
This is so badass I want one but I need to make it happen somehow
It's like a fancy version of the cheap little $5 e-ink writing tablets
I love my kindle scribe for work as a nurse
Hi, may I ask how you use Kindle Scribe as a nurse? I am trying to widen my Kindle Scribe use cases. 🙂
I frequently see references to new products with "rounder edges" and the presenter making a big deal about the edges. Besides the looks, why do presenters make such a big deal about "rounder edges"? Unless I am missing something, the edges don't make the product perform better!
If a person already has an iPad, why is this better than using Focus Mode on an iPad to provide a similar function?
Whwt about software? How faster is compared with RM2? And whst about smart shapes or geometric shapes? Any improvement?
How can it be that they cant make the pen backwards compatible but my samsung spen works on my remarkable??
Does it have a canvas that is unlimited so you can draw big projects on it?
While you can’t use the new pen on the remarkable 2. Can you use the old pen on the new pro?
Could you review the product in terms of how easy to load and read some academic journal papers? I heard that the Boox Tab X (13 inch device) is good for reading the papers, but I wonder how good 11.8 inch device can be for reading the journal papers.
If they have sponsored my video and a free Remarkable Pro I to will not say anything negative.
Hey unc Jud, they had color when you were in high school and in college?
I'm waiting for your day in the life of the Google pixel 9 pro XL. I log on to RUclips and I see all these other RUclipsrs doing day in the Life videos. I'm like, I don't want to see them. Frankly, they're lame. Ill wait patiently for you to past your day in the life.
At that price point you can just get an iPad and do way more with it than this very niche device
Basically like buying an iPad at the price point its kinda nice but not really worth it when you can do the same thing with your galaxy tab or iPad
Wish it had a camera for scanning documents.
I don't get it. The accessories, are they like just a keyboard or is it a whole system with a tablet?
What a basic review. No exploration of features, just scribble a few words and oooh ahhha to no end. Come on, this is the third version, surely the paperlike effect is a standard feature that don't bear flagging out repeatedly
Forgot to tell that the colors of the case is what is going on in the screen to create those colors. 😮
How does it compare to the FEEL-WRITE-2 experience of writing it on on STACK OF THICK stack of notepad? WHICH ACTUALLY FOR ME IS THE CLOSEST PAPER FEEL I EXPERIENCED ON A DIGITAL TABLET.. no wacom? A big downer for me ? And dampening should be on th the screen- LIKE ON REAL PAPER OF NOTEBOOK THICK STACK YOUR TAKE PLEASE?
when is it available in India ?
The pen needs to be charged. Pens like Lamy are not compatible. Why can’t they coexist?! I guess the new display technology demands it be done this way. Thanks for the review.
Hope the colors pop, if I am splurging over $800 for the combo, they better do!
The review we need! Been looking at this model in particular 🤗🙌🏾
What do you think about iPad Pro m4 with a paper like skin????
I never heard the price...
I hate the fact they made the size bigger
Bigger is better, more reasons to charge premium price.
@@kaisong5004 yes in different scenario but not here. rM2 size was perfect 👌
@@Saurav_Poudel Different needs, different views. Many academic PDFs were just too small to read even after zooming up what the margins allowed.
That is my only concern. I was able to put the reMarkable 2 in my handbag.
You have a good point. Maybe the larger size might be better and it has more memory
What about working at sun
Love the screen. Hate the subscription model
Me who just bought a remarkable 2😢
Literally me too. I’m so annoyed
Me too 😢
Remarkable 2 really sucked. I so wanted to love it, but I got it Christmas of 2023 and was not impressed. Page turns were slow af. And, the interactivity of the built-in software was really, really slow in doing all of the normal activities, such as looking at a gallery of your documents and switching between PDFs. And, I so wanted to read full-page PDF's on RM2, but it just didn't work. So, I plan to give this one a try. Seems like the updated hardware will make the speed issues a thing of the past, because the Remarkable is an incredible concept which I will buy a few of them -- once they come down. But, I will start with this RPP to make sure that it has come to where it should be, before it will ever get mainstream adoption.
Martin Hollow
and all of a sudden, this last update seems to drain my right-before long lasting battery on the RM2...
Anyone else?
Does the handwritten to text software work though?
Will it work as e reader?
Just wish it wasn't like $600
Cool gadget
