    This looks incredible. Do you dip your cup in the flour and then level it off or do you spoon it in the cup and then level it off. It makes a difference in how much each cup will hold. Thanks so much.

    • @GreedyGirlCooks
      @GreedyGirlCooks  4 года назад +1

      The correct way is to spoon the flour into the cup then level off, so that's the way you should do it. even though I do it the wrong way all the time when I'm lazy.

      Yea I get what you mean the blog has two methods, each giving a different texture. I prefer the other one, gives you more of a cake texture than this one, but the flavor is so good

    Thanks for posting but I have to say the instructions are a little hard to read. Do I heat the butter milk with the butter OR does it not call for buttermilk?

    • @mixedlove1234
      @mixedlove1234 7 лет назад

      Kaisha Jones DON'T heat the buttermilk. That will ruin it for this recipe. Add the milk once everything has cooled down.

      You mean cake flour? well you should be able to use cake flour instead of All purpose for sure, even though i've never tried it. its pretty much the same just less proteins in the cake flour. And you would need to double the recipe to make two cake

    On the recipe it says to whip the butter but on the video it shows you heating the butter... so? I’m confused because the video and the recipe don’t match, the video shows one thing and the recipe says another. Can you please elaborate

    • @GreedyGirlCooks
      @GreedyGirlCooks  3 года назад

      It's two different methods for two different cake texture. The video gives a spongy texture the written instructions give a fluffy cake texture. Same ingredients just make the cake to your liking. On the blog one is listed as spongy and one as fluffy

      Jasmine Elizabeth it would be hard to tell u what went wrong without seeing how u baked it, wrong temp, didn't mix the butter enough, too much or too little moisture, I have no idea, could be a lot of reasons

      okay its 2020 ...maybe i can help you a little okay sooo i can say THiS much ....when you set up your ingredients and it came time for the eggs/liquids did you
      whip it ?....and did you whip it good??? ..... if so ....it created a lightness to the batter then you add a too hot of an oven... the oven cud NOT handle the whipped-ness or over beaten batter of the cake thus it FELLL (boooo!) .... so basically DO NOT over beat the cake... so questions ....did you use a whisk? ...or did you use a hand blender? or a stand mixer? ... as you see here she used a whisk .... for one thing.... do NOT use A SCRAPER to mix your ingredients they are only meant for scraping!! .... cakes are funny ...if you handle it TOO strongly... it wont set up right and that sucka will wait ....and throw a royal fall down tantrum in the oven also factor in.. was your baking powder/soda ( i forget which one she required) FRESH? seasons/spices baking powders and stuff THEY get old too .... so try and try again but go get everything in the store...so you wont mistakenly use timed out ingredients ...try....til you get it .... also for another alternative ...go grab you a CAKE BOX !! and add the awesome looking coconut glaze and call it a blessed day (you hear me??)... ...sorry that you just got thrown under the bus i thought the video uploader cud have been a LITTLE MORE helpful ....but i HOPE this helps Happy Baking!!!!!!!

    Can I use regular milk? On the video just says milk but on your website it says buttermilk....please let me know. Thank you.

    • @GreedyGirlCooks
      @GreedyGirlCooks  5 лет назад +2

      The texture is better if you use buttermilk, so I would use buttermilk, if you don't have the store bought one u can just add a tablespoon of vinegar to a cup of whole milk and let it stand for 5 minutes. That makes regular milk into Buttermilk. Its just an acidic milk, it works with the baking soda in the cake
